Wheat + Water Italian Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I were in the mood for a good pizza and decided to give this place a shot. We were not disappointed. Although the pizza was not the best I've had, it was still very good. The superb waitress made the visit even better. She was super friendly and checked on us the perfect number of times. Not overbearing or distant, just perfect. We will be back for sure!
Relaxed, cozy atmosphere with just the right level of lighting. Outside patio has heaters, but is best on a warm evening. The menu has a lot of great Italian choices. Appetizers are all delicious, especially the risotto bites. Bread is tasty and the wine list is very nice. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are a hearty size. Very nice choice for a casual night out.
Wheat + Water is a really good local Italian eatery. Milton, our server, was personable and very efficient. They have an excellent menu with a lot of different pastas and combinations. Portions are hearty; we've split a couple of entrees already. Plus, they have a great little dessert of two small cannollis, great for sharing after a big meal.
We were there on New Year's Eve. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, and good food and choices. The meals prices were not changed and we had a lovely dinner out. We were there at 8 pm and did not have to wait and did not feel pressured to finish quickly. We had a lovely waitress and we could not have been happier.
I've dined at W&W numerous times and have always enjoyed the food. This occasion was New Year's Eve and the restaurant was very crowded and the staff was hopping. Only problem I had was that after the soup and salad was served, before either could be eaten the main course arrived. Consequently, we only ate about half the soup and even less of the salad. Waiter should have placed the order for the entrees separately from the first dishes instead of submitting the order as one or at least been sure we were ready for the entrees. However, the waiter was not the one who brought the entrees; it was a different server which might account for the hasty service. We sent the entrees back and requested that we be allowed time to eat the first dishes. The server took them away and within 2-3 minutes a third server brought them back. We gave up at that point and had them take the unfinished soup and salads away. Being New Year's Eve and given the large crowd I can understand the communication mix-up, but a well trained staff would have dealt with this issue more appropriately. In addition, the waiter forget to bring me the wine I ordered and I cancelled that order after finishing my main course without wine.
I have been to this restaurant over 20 times since opening. Had this been my first time I would never return all because of one waiter , Eric, who has now served us 2x
Had to call hostess over to refill our water and bring us bread. Once he took our order he disappeared
Food is terrific so if u go stay away from Eric. Every other server we have ever had has been great
Wheat and Water is our favorite Italian restaurant. The food is freshly prepared and there are many creative choices from which to choose. The service is outstanding . The creative appetizers are a must to try prior to dinner. The salads and soups are outstanding and there are many choices for the main course. This restaurant is tops!
We had made a reservation 2 weeks prior
After the seated us we asked if we could move to another table less noisy as my 87 th yr old mom had hearing aids and can’t hear well. There were 2 other tables oh 8 ( same as us) with no one at them. We asked to move to them but the owner put up a fight saying they were already reserved but not here yet.
We asked if they requested those perticular tables she said no. So we asked to move to one of them again she again put up an argument. It was for no reason as we kept asking what the difference would be???
She said she had to call the people that would be sitting there and ask them ( even though they had no idea where their table was as the reservation was made online and not a requested spot). I believe Our waitress spoke to her and asked her to accommodate us.
It was really a bizarre experience.
Thankfully our waitress was great and the food was wonderful.
The owner could use some classes in customer service.
Milton, our server, was friendly, helpful and efficient. Our drinks were fine, dinners were great, and our little cannolis were a perfect little dessert. Their menu is extensive, and everything we've had so far has been excellent. This is fast becoming a local go-to restaurant.
This was my third visit to Wheat and Water. The previous two meals were good, so I returned.
We ordered an appetizer, the grilled artichokes, which was tasty. Before we had funished the appetizer, the salads were served and before we had finished those, the entrees were on the table. Fine dining it was not.
I ordered the short ribs with risotto. The ribs were satisfactory, although the portion was small. The risotto was inedible. It was drenched in a heavy cheese sauce, which was far too rich and looked and tasted like mush.
I told the waiter that the risotto was too rich (I was being kind), but he made no offer of replacing it.
The meal took less than an hour. A very disappointing experience.
Wheat and Water is a favorite restaurant of ours. It has the best Italian food in the Bradenton-Sarasota area! The menu has excellent choices and the service is outstanding! The food is freshly prepared and served hot. The menu has an excellent assortment of appetizers as well as main courses, salads, soups, and desserts.
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The food is outstanding; the pizza is a favorite of my husband and I favor the pasta with lamb. The chicken parm is also very good. But you won't go wrong with anything on the menu. The salad is always fresh and the bread is too good causing one to eat way too much of it. The wait staff is mostly attentive with Dayna the best of the best. The owners are present and concerned with any problems.
