Westside Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful find, didn't realize this was right at Westside Pavilion. Lovely place, terrific service. Did a business lunch there, but definitely plan to come back. We both had the potato soup (wonderful), thenI had a caesar salad with salmon, and my business associate had scallops, the lunch special. Highly recommend!
Absolutely love this restaurant. I've been coming here for years. It's the perfect ambience, the most delicious food no matter that item on the menu- I call this place a second home (or kitchen, if I could cook as immaculately!) Have had my law graduation here, birthdays here, dates here, and business lunches here. Perfect for all.
Best thing is the cheese burger and the grilled cheese and tomato bisque... Humus dip is good or the poke... Usually service is good but this time the two front desk hostesses were kinda rude and we had to ask for tea and coffee refills everytime... Not attentive... Hostesses didnt say a thing when we past them leaving... Bad night for them in terms of customer service...my office has lunch there quite a bit, so i am familiar with how they normally are...
We eat at Westside Tavern every Friday because their bacon cheeseburger with caramelized onions is simply divine. Typically the service is great; the servers are almost always extremely friendly, fun, efficient, and prompt. However, this last Friday, we waited for about 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table to offer us something to drink. In fact, after several servers walked back and forth ignoring us during that time, we finally had to grab someone before anyone noticed us. The server who ended up waiting on us was great, but when we asked another server for something during our meal, they did not seem interested in helping us and seemed a bit irritated. It was disappointing that the staff were not more team-oriented and collaborative. We had made a reservation for my friend's birthday, which we were hoping would be acknowledged in some way, perhaps even with a happy birthday, but it appears Westside Tavern does not really acknowledge birthdays, which is not really that big of a deal. It just left me wondering why they ask you to specify that in the reservation on Open Table. Overall, this was one semi-negative experience among many, many great experiences so we will, of course, continue to dine there. Every restaurant (or server) has bad nights once in a while.
I just want to send a thank you to Westside Tavern for reaching out to me the following day. My mom left her wallet there. She hadn't realized it was missing but Westside figured out it was my Mom's because my phone number was on the reservation. I really appreciate it.
Also, every time I have reservations there we are seated immediately which I greatly appreciate.
My father has Alzheimers and doesn't sit patiently so being seated when we walk in is crucial.
Food was great too.
The waitstaff is always attentive and friendly and there is a warm ambience. I always enjoy their specials and had the sea bream which was great. Another guest had the grilled salmon and enjoyed it as well. Another member of our party had the burger with fries and said it was very good. The Caesar salad is always fresh and delicious.
I've eaten at Westside Tavern many times; this was the only occasion it was not great. Once we were seated it was a really long while before we were waited on, when immediately we gave our cocktails & appetizer order so as to have some time to decide what entrees to select. We had to ask twice for water. I guess the restaurant was short-staffed that evening; we arrived at 6:35, which I thought would be "early", before the dinner rush.
Wish I could remember the name of our waiter. He had a full beard. He was so knowledgeable and helpful and very attentive. Extremely professional, yet just the right amount of friendliness.
I enjoyed my BLT with arugula and soft cooked egg. Different and yummy. Surprised at how good the gazpacho was. I am usually not a big fan, but this was excellent. And, let's not even talk about the sweet potato fries!
My only complaint was the extreme glare coming in the front windows. I literally could not see the person sitting across from me.
Pristine, attractive rest rooms.
I am so relieved they started taking reservations bc it used to be a minimum 25-30 min wait, which is actually well with it. However, it would conflict with our movie. Now we can make a Rez and get right in. The service is impeccable. The servers are A+. They are some of the friendliest servers around and are extremely efficient. Going to WT is the highlight of my week. I dream about their bacon cheeseburger w carmelized onions and sweet potato fries all week long. It is simply divine! Great Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts too.
This is the second time that we've been to the Tavern and been greeted by a booth with food not wiped off the seat. That being said, the wait staff was good and the food was up to the usual Westside standards. I love the ambiance of the Tavern. No matter where you sit, the general noise of the restaurant never overpowers the conversation being had at your table.
Great food , as always! But our server was not enthused to be there. He asked if we'd like water and when I responded I'd like to order a drink, he started to walk off before we could order. He came back to bring our drinks and we ordered. That was our entire interaction over the course of over an hour. No asking if we'd like more drinks, or dessert, or an appetizer. Or if we liked our food. Or more water. But he was chatty with other servers. But not us. Or anyone in his area.
It was a big birthday for me today. I saw another table get a piece of cake in a different section. The server wished me happy birthday on my way out as I walked out. But did I get even a modicum of service from my server? Not really.
