The waitress was very pleasant, helpful, and attentive. The turkey burger was bland with an inappropriate whole wheat bun. The tomato soup was acetic. I've had better food here, so stay away from these two items.
Veggie burger was awful tasted like they made it the day before, fries good.
The ambiance was really nice. My husband enjoyed the short rib. Also, you never know who you will see (we saw Tommy Chong - Cheech and Chong- COOL!).
Been going there for 10 years. The food is always good despite the limited menu... but the service has gone down hill. We had a very odd waiter
Came here with some friends after watching the Irishman, and it was packed! We asked to speak to someone about wines and that’s where Christopher came by and made some great recommendations. I really appreciate his honesty, as we weren’t looking to spend top dollar. He wasn’t pushy as many wine stewards are, he worked well within our budget. Will be back.
Used to go here when I was going to a movie at Landmark. Now I go regardless of the movies. Outstanding food, they now take reservations. and parking is so easy.
We like this place as a pre-movie option. Our server last night wasn’t one of your best. And seriously....if you’re offering a “side salad” as an option to fries with a sandwich, it really ought to be something more than a “bowl of lettuce,” which is what I got last night.
Everything is wonderful about this restaurant. The service is particularly stellar.
Our waiter was very nice and our meal DELICIOUS‼️
Great place for a drink before a movie. Inventive cocktails.
We were seated in a smaller side room where the noise level was moderates unlike the main portion of the restaurant where Noyes can be problematic.
Menu was too limited and too much emphasis on failed effort to being creative.
ALWAYS wonderful food. The staff is outstanding...especially Aaron. It's my "go to" restaurant!
I ordered the plant burger which was, at best satisfactory. I would not recommend it to anyone as it was fairly tasteless and uninteresting. The tomato soup was good.
I have been to West side Tavern many times and the food is consistently excellent. I ordered the salmon special, which came with a variety of vegetables but waitress offered to sub other things. I chose a salad and
basically received a plate of greens with a piece of grilled salmon for $30. When I inquired if there wasn't a sauce of dressing, she said not if I ordered a substitute. It was pretty basic and boring.
The lights are out on the window side. I could hardly see my food or the check. Please fix the overhead lights. Thank u
Solid place. Very nice servers.
Very nice meal - had pumpkin sage flatbread & wife had buttermilk fried chicken. Good service - personal & efficient.
This was my first time visit to Westside Tavern - I must say that it was great. I was running late for the showtime of The Irishman and didn’t have time to grab lunch. Low and behold I found this restaurant at the bottom of the theaters and decided to check it out after the movie. During my dinner I met the manager Christopher and we discussed current events, sports, and food. Quite a knowledgeable young man; I will be back for the food and conversation.
Great for after the movies at the Landmark. They now take reservations on Open Table.....wonderful. Their corn bread, flat bread with mushrooms, Caesar salad (they use Ge, lettuce not Romaine and the dressing is not great as a Caesar).......but it is enjoyable, grilled cheese sandwich, are all good choices. Service is spotty.......you have to flag someone down to get the pepper mill or red pepper flakes for the flat bread.....however all of the staff are accommodating.....they have so many people serving you that there seems to be a lack of direction.....bus boy, server, waiter. I like one person who is responsible for the full service experience.
Never disappoints. Good food, many choices, convenient to movies
The salmon burger was delicious as was the black bean soup.
I have never had a bad meal here. It's a local gem.
Food is always inventive with a good variety to choose from. Changing menu on the blackboard every day. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. This is our go to restaurant- very dependable.
Great food, lovely service. I'm so glad that they FINALLY take reservations. Love this place - a favorite.
We met our friend from out of town. All our party were very happy with the meal and service.
Just a little noisy to talk but we all enjoyed.
Always a pleasure. Comfort food that is consistently excellent.
Most of the dishes on the menu were fast food or small plates. Main dishes were offered verblly by server without any mention of price until specifically asked. an insidious way to sell upscale items My wife had
a vegitarian burger that tasted bad. That night and part of the next day he had a gastroenteritis. Won't
see us back too soon.
Our waitress was very rude and unprofessional but the manager talked to us and improved the situation. Also a free dessert was very much appreciated!
Everything was delicious and the staff was great
The people keep pouring in when I have lunch here before attending a film @ the Landmark - I'm in wonder @ all these "youngish" people who can afford to eat here. They've raised their prices again recently and I'm astounded that I paid $30 for a Salmon salad and that my bill w/iced tea and no dessert or appetizer ran over $45 w/tax & good tip. Others must be on a business expense account while I'm not -- --- Nordstrom's did a number on me by closing their store & the restaurant where I used to enjoy another Salmon salad -- maybe not as large -- but it came w/BREAD!! (at no extra charge) and was more than adequate.......... ah me! I guess I'll have to start packing a lunch to take with to the movies......... pardon this disgruntled review --- but it's hard for retirees to keep up w/the high cost of living.............
The Tavern still serves the best cheeseburger in Los Angeles. Booths are comfy. The noise level and lighting are just right.
Made reservations on the way. Got seated within 5 min. They sat us, a party of 4 at a non booth, so I asked for one right across the way that was clean and empty. She asked if I made reservations I said yes on Open Table, then as we stood in the aisle she said oh here comes a party to sit there. So we sat down only to see they sat a party of 2 at a large booth. I didn’t make a stink but my 82 yr old mom wasn’t happy. The food was good but a little overpriced for a burger and chips.
Came here with my wife before a movie. Service was okay, however after discussing our concerns with the manager Christopher everything seemed to be on point. It’s nice to finally dine at a restaurant where the management actively listens and solves issues. 5 stars.
This place is like a really good Denny's. Prices are out of line.
I eat here a lot because it's convienent after the theater and the food is good (The Best Hamburgers)_ It's simply good place to go.
Reconnecting with dear friend. Lovely evening.
I’ve been coming here for years with friends since it’s inception 10 years ago. The atmosphere has improved vastly! Service, food, and professionalism is still being executed at a high level. Even the management stops and talks to you! The tall gentleman with the navy tie was very engaging - I’m glad they’ve hired competent managers. He even kept his cool with an older lady who was giving him a ribbing over split checks.
very convenient when going to the Landmark/ consistent food.
I had the cheeseburger this time. Good quality beef and tasty. My friend had a turkey burger and it comes with bacon. That seemed odd to us that bacon would be on a turkey burger. We had the vegetarian chili in the side (instead of fries). The chili was delicious! I highly recommend it.
