No idea why Zagat’s recommends this place. It is a hotel bar restaurant in a Hilton hotel and this was not described. There were no customers in the room which was a bad sign to begin with. Terrible service which is a reflection of a place that does not do business and no quality waiter or waitress wants to work at a place that nobody frequents. In an exciting place like Nashville there is no reason to go to this restaurant.
It was obvious it was understaffed. Though very nice, the staff couldn't handle the load. My wife's meal was fine, except her eggs were running. She sent them back, and they came back the same...just just didn't eat them.
I ordered Salmon and bagel. Was told that plain bagels were all they had...which is/was fine/preferred. Then, order cam without a bagel, but the server said it fell on the ground, and they're getting another one. When it arrived, it was clear that they gave me a raisin bagel, with the raisins picked-off. I ate half, but I hate raisins. Brought this up to the hostess, and she said she'd "look into it." After about 25 minutes, and no contact (eye contact or otherwise), I flagged her down and said, please just get me toast, which she did. Still, it was obvious there were no bagels, and she didnt want to tell me (I would have been FINE with it).. Instead, it took about an extra 30 minutes to finish, based on all of this.
I normally dont complain and go with the flow. But, it was very annoying that there was no transparency with the fact they were out of something...and, I was being avoided. THe food, otherwise, was good. Not $50.00 good (especially given the situation). On top of that, the meal was supposed to be free (hotel offered it, since we had no hot water, one day)...but, there it is on my bill. Going to go argue with the staff, now, about that. Yay.
Wonderful service and superb hospitality!
Lupa, our server, was just lovely!
Very enjoyable experience
Dinner Friday was extremely slow service. Wait staff was accommodating and polite but not attentive to timing of capturing orders, water refills, or drink refills.
Breakfast, on the other hand, was superb and would qualify for a much higher rating. Exceptional food, great service, and super attentive and timely in every manner.
Our first time here, and the crab toast and beet salads were creative and tasty! Coffee was very smooth and delicious as well. No room for dessert, but I was intrigued by the lemon elderberry dessert for next time!
The clue should have been that we were one of two tables in the restaurant and there was one server. The dinner menu was so limited and uninteresting. The food was okay, but the overall experience a disappointment. We regret this choice in a city full of amazing restaurant options.
We did the Christmas Day prix fixe menu and it was outstanding. Very nice choices on the courses! Excellent service!
Their fixed Christmas dinner menu was absolutely delicious and the service was spectacular. Lupe in particular was an amazing waitress. She was making drinks and taking care of 7 tables without missing a beat.
Booked this place for Christmas meal.... wile the server was nice, every aspect of this meal was awful! 😢
Cold food, terribly ‘fatty’ Benton’s Bacon, a waffle which tasted like it was made yesterday, and flat soda.
A nice , bright atmosphere, but such a disappointment X 10.
Stayed at the hotel with coworkers who had been there before and raved about the menu. Don't know what happened but there was nothing to rave about. Made reservations, when we showed up the hostess was uninterested and seemed like it was news to her a party of 7 was coming. She was never around - I had to go ask the bar tender to find her a couple times. The food was over priced and weirdly portioned - I got 4 of the toughest short ribs (and no knife to cut them) along with a huge amount of fried potato tossed in a lot of creme fresh on a plate. At one point a complimentary dish from the chef was brought out...with 5 deviled egg haves on it. There were 7 people at the table so that was weird that there weren't enough for all the people at the table but the real confusing part was...what happened to the other half egg?
This used to be my go-to location for business lunches when it was 1808 Grille. When I attended a 12:30 lunch, for which I made a reservation, no one was at the host/hostess stand or offered to seat us. After waiting a few minutes, we sat ourselves. After sitting for several minutes, I went to the bar to request a waiter. Once the waiter arrived, he was fine. The menu was extremely limited. It was a fraction of the size of the previous menu. (I guess that's why it's a Bar and no longer a Grille.) My turkey sandwich was okay. I'm normally not one to push away a plate, and I ate maybe 1/3 of my meal. I used to enjoy this location because of the valet parking (which they still have), great food (not so much based on this meal), and the busy but not overcrowded atmosphere, which allowed for easy conversation. We were one of two tables at the restaurant, so it felt like we were eating in a ghost town, which is odd for a late lunch. With so many other new restaurants in town, I'm not sure I'll be back.
We visited Nashville over Thanksgiving. We stayed at the Hutton Hotel. We took advantage of the Thanksgiving menu at the West End. The food was delicious. Many of the ingredients are farm-to-table. The staff was courteous and responsive. Our breakfasts were delightful. The vegetarian omelette and the Belgian waffles were especially good. We thoroughly enjoyed the cheese and fruit platters during Happy Hour. The ingredients were so fresh and flavorful.
Thanksgiving dinner with friends. Food and cocktails were outstanding, our server seemed annoyed with us the whole time.
Very strange. No one there but us ...... on Friday night! Guess everyone else already knew. Wasn’t even a staff member there to seat us. We sat at bar and ordered food from uninterested bartender. Food was mediocre but very expensive.
Limited menu, slow service, and an empty restaurant every time we dined here.
