Our meals very delicious and served in large portions. The manager came over to say hello, which always makes customers feel important.

Food and service Quality are always top notch here.

All the courses including lava dessert were great. The steak was not good but held off saying anything due to the wait. Service was slower than usual likely given the geopolitical crisis in play.

My wife and I had an amazing time. The restaurant was packed even with the coronavirus. The service and the food was excellent. Waiters and staff was excellent.

We were disappointed for a couple reasons. First, we were there celebrating our 30th Anniversary, and we let the waiter know but nothing was done for us, I remember getting a card sent to our table and dessert in the past, we had to purchase one. Also we order half a dozen oysters, really liked them and ordered 6 more (asking him if he could make it a dozen) he said yes, but on our bill he charged us for 2 half dozen which was more money. Why would he do that? Food was delicious though.

A very good although somewhat pricey restaurant. Service and presentation excellent as usual. My lobster tail wasn't as good as before; somewhat tasteless. I won't order it again. Probably should have stuck with steak. I'll be back though.

For the price point my meal was just OK — $100 for steak, one side, dessert, no alcohol. For that price I expected an experience similar to The Palm or Ruth’s Chris. The steak was billed as “U.S.D.A. PRIME CERTIFIED ANGUS BEEF”. If it actually was their buyer is getting fleeced. I ordered it medium rare which the waiter described as “warm red center”. It was medium well with a barely pink center, and was fairly dry and tasteless. It was completely trimmed of fat so that contributed to the problem; but I’d expect a “Prime” steak’s marbling to contribute to good flavor. So it was disappointing for a steak over $50.

The service was a bit lackadaisical, but I’ve come to expect that as a woman often dining alone; I’ve been told this is because women aren’t good tippers but I am a good tipper, or at least I am when the service is very good.

So all in all it was a mediocre experience, reinforcing a North County’s reputation as a restaurant desert.

Had a bad experience. Called the restaurant and complained. They told me the General
Manager would call me to discuss and I never heard from him. $520 with tip for 4 people and we brought our own wine. You would think that that would be worth a return phone call.

West Steak and Seafood in Carlsbad, CA is THE place to go for quality steaks. The service is excellent and the servers are friendly and professional. I had the Filet Mignon and it was superb! Cooked just the way I asked for it. Paired with a glass of quality red wine it made for an excellent dinner. The sides were plentiful and very tasty. The ambiance is very comfortable; elegant but not stuffy. The dress code is business casual preferred. No shorts or flip flops allowed. I highly recommend West Steak and Seafood for a romantic dinner with the one you love!! I also recommend making reservations!

This is our go-to place for special occasions! We recently went to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was amazing as usual! I recommend this place for your next celebration.

Our reservation was at 8:00 and we didn’t get seated until approximately 820, which happens sometimes. The lapse was that there was no acknowledgment or regret that we had to wait for our reserved table. I mentioned it to the waiter and he replied, “oh I don’t have anything to do with that.” Started out with a shrimp cocktail that was outstanding and then went downhill from there. The lobster bisque was so-so and the bone in ribeye was mediocre at best. Couple that with average ambience and average service for a pricey steakhouse and it just isn’t quite up to snuff. We happened to be spending the weekend in Carlsbad but next time will make the extra drive to Fleming’s or Eddie V’s.

Our waiter, Parker was exceptional. He was very well informed and couldn't do enough to make us happy. He was a pleasure to chat with as well. Even though it was Valentine's Day and the restaurant was very crowded, we were served and had a delightful time in a reasonable time frame.

Always a favorite when we come to Carlsbad. Did not disappoint! Our waitress was Willow. We have been fortunate to have had Willow as our server previously. She is wonderful and helpful.
Filet was delicious as were the scallops and shrimp.
Crab cakes are amazing!
Perfect meal.

Took my guests of 8 to experience dinner at West. Ordered all the appetizers so they can taste each one. All ordered a variety of dinner offerings from seafood to steaks. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and said the food was delicious. Now they will come again as my wife and I have many times.

Although I marked "YES" as a recommendation, this particular evening that we went was not their best night. The service was average to below average. The 4 of us ordered straight off the menu with 0 deviations; we ordered 3 Filet Mignons and 1 Salmon. The e food took an extraordinary amount of time to arrive; we were not in a rush, but the server didn't both to come by and explain the wait time between courses. Additionally, one member of our party received her appetizer, a Caprese Salad, with her main course Perhaps we caught them on an off night, but it was a slow Sunday early evening reservation, so not clear what the reasons were. We will visit again sometime later this year.

My wife had a great experience and her food was superb. The service was excellent. Well, I'm pretty sure I was to have the wagyu Ribeye, that didn't happen.. I believe I was served the tenderloin and it wasn't bad. just not what I wanted. I didn't want to ruin the experience my wife was having. She enjoyed it, so I did as well.

West Steak and Seafood proved that they will always go the whole nine yards to make a Special Occassion indeed just that...SPECIAL....they even accommodated a special request for a "round" table so that our party of seven would be able to converse and be close to one another.....the food was outstanding and delicious, every one raved about the scallops, steaks and sides and the attentive service. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, made for a superb evening......THANK YOU to all at West Steak and Seafood, and to our special waitress supreme Karen M.....It will be another lovely memory of a Special Birthday celebration!

Food is very good, not inexpensive but comparable to others. Service is attentive although wait staff can get caught at other tables for extended time. Noise level is an issue if there are some boisterous other tables, like during most recent visit.

West has never disappointed. The 8 ounce filet and the salmon filet were perfectly prepared. New to us this visit were the crab cakes. They are delicious and prepared without filler or binder. The roasted beets salad was large enough for two to share. The mushroom side was nicely flavored. Greeters and wait staff are superb. We go to West on special occasions because it is special.

This is a fun place to go with excellent service and cuisine. The crab cakes are amazing. The steak is melt in your mouth. I had a chicken dish that was very tasty. Also, the cocktails are excellent.
