Celebrated our anniversary, six people. Three of us ordered the crab legs, which we’ve had before and raves about. Unfortunately it didn’t meet the same standards as last time. The crab was cold in some places and mushy in some places of the legs, and the flavor just wasn’t as we’ve had before. Service also wasn’t as great as last time, was especially turned off when we were brought a Desert with a candle for our celebration (which we thought was a kind gesture), and then it was on our bill. Overall just wasn’t super impressed this time, which is a bummer since previously it was our favorite steak and seafood house.
The service staff was outstanding including managers, hostess and especially our waiter Willow. Very overpriced.
El filete que comi no tenia nada de sabor. Ademas el servicio muy irregular ya que estaban montando mesa para 22
I took my date there for dinner, we had Anne Marie as our waitress, she was so incredible. The steaks and apps were delicious. I will definitely be heading back there again soon.
Petite filet mignon, creamy mashed potatos and spinach.... wonderful.
Omg the food was UNREAL!! My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate a work promotion and were so happy with the experience - especially the food. Eye of the ribeye and the special dessert that takes 30 minutes to make - 100% worth it and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back!
Four of us spent a lovely evening at West to celebrate a family birthday. Food was excellent, as was the service. We ordered a few appetizers, salads, and then steaks and chilean sea bass. I did not care for the sauce on my sea bass this time (beurre blanc), when other times it was so tasty and the best I'd ever had. The fish itself was very good. Steaks were cooked perfectly. We thought we were too full to have dessert, but caved in and shared a Bread Pudding.... OMG!
We celebrated our 7th anniversary! We had a wonderful time from the minute we arrived. Our server was FANTASTIC and the food was 2nd to none. My Ribeye was cooked to perfection. This is our 2nd time dining at West Steak and Seafood but it most certainly will not be our last.
Our waitress remembered us and the service was great. They food was excellent the steaks perfectly cooked. Excellent creamed corn.
We ordered a martini at the bar while we waited for our table. It was on the expensive side, $17, but worth it. At our table, we started with the Salmon Belly appetizer. That was delicious. I thought if the rest of my meal was like that all would be good. I ordered the Sea Bass, and my husband had the filet. My sides were veggies and broccoli. His were mashed potatoes and broccoli. My Sea Bass was very good. I would give it a 4 out of 5. The veggies and broccoli were so plain, and a little under-cooked. My husband gave his filet about a 3. He said it was cooked right, but again, no flavor. He was not inspired. The mashed potatoes were good, light, butter, no chunks. Service was great though.
Would we go back? Not for $100 pp. There are other places I would rather go when I spend this amount.
Great service. Rob was our server and he was AMAZING! The steaks were so tasty and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The carrot cake was the best I ever had
Our waitress, Willow, took great care of us this week and the food was a home run as always.
After reading about their dry aged prime beef I expected a little higher quality. I am not saying there was anything wrong with the steak, but if you dry age your steak for 30 days, it should have very good flavor and be very tender. In comparison to other high end steak houses, this steak was average. The other entree was exceptional. Halibut and scallops over a broth risotto. Another plus is the corkage fee is $20. Very reasonable.
Our meal was amazing! Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and the steak was one of the best we've had. Highly recommend!
Our favorite North County restaurant for a special evening of dining .
Fabulous meal with a great selection of wines.
Atmosphere was quiet enough that the other conversations were not overwhelming and bearable.
Service was next to none.
A memorable birthday meal.
West is where we go for special occasions and it doesn’t disappoint! The steaks are top notch! My boys love the Mac and cheese and I love the lobster bisque! Also, the desserts are delicious! It’s worth every penny!
West is the bedt steakhouse in North County. Highly recommend it!
We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. They seemed overbooked as service started slow as well.
Not our first time at the place but the first visit we ordered the Cowboy Steak bone-in and it was just perfect with a beautiful charring that made each bite incredible. This second visit however, we ordered the same steak and it was very basic and bland. Not much taste and lacked that gorgeous char. Didn't think I had to ask for that. Left disappointed, but the waiter was great. Not impressed with the manager who is an older gentleman with long gray hair who pretty much ignored us when we walked in. I spoke, but he ignored us and kept talking to the hostess at the front. Again, this did not happen on our first visit. For the price of food and drinks, they should do a bit better and be more consistent.
The food and service was amazing
Our service was exceptional and the presentation of the food was lovely.
The staff made this a special night for the birthday couple. The food was creative and delicious.
This is our special go-to place since the food, service, ambiance is always stellar. I must say that our recent visit came with the slowest service we've ever had. Our dinner was 2 hours long. It took 45 min to order dinner and 45 min to get our meals. BUT, the food is outstanding and the ambiance is terrific. Hopefully next time service will be back to normal.
My absolute favorite spot for dinner years running now! Never a letdown!
We’ve eaten at some of the best steak restaurants all over the world and West at least compares, if not better, to them all. Absolutely divine food and service.
Well done. Great staff food is excellent although pricy well worth it
Great service. Lived our waitress - very knowledgeable about her wines.
Only thing I’d say was waiter could have been more attentive. He did suggest a wine which for the price was mediocre. I’m sure he was getting rewarded for selling it - saw Mgr /wine guy give him a atta boy look when he turned in order.
Food was very good. Extensive (expensive) wine list. Extremely noisy crowded venue. It seems they cater to large business groups on expense accounts. This is not the place for a quite dinner with your spouse. You can count on a $200 plus tab for dinner for two with wine!
Steaks cooked perfectly.
This is the second time we have gone here, and the second time was as good as the first. The food was wonderful. The steak was perfectly cooked and the crab cakes could hardly stay together.
Terrible! Table for 4
$ 490.00 dinner, loud, seated by the bus station, rookie hostess.
The best steak we have had in a long time. Vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. A wonderful experience
A little pricy but worth every penny. Our server, Kaitlyn was extrodinary and tended to our every request with a smile/courtesy. The food was excellent and was at our table in a smooyh fashion---- not to quick or slow, just right. We will be back
Everything was great as usual; quality and satisfying quantity. A bit of a distraction with a loud, very young child, but the hour was late. Server and service flowed nicely.
The steaks just were not that good. At $79, it should have been superb, but it was gristly and poorly cooked. The waitress didn't know the wine list and wasn't particularly helpful. It was an extremely expensive dinner for less than average quality.
Very disappointed in our dinners. The cioppino was not to my husband's liking. An odd recipe and very little in the way of seafood. My steak was so tiny (and expensive) I cut in into tiny pieces just to make it last. The broccoli side dish was a big bowl of steamed broccoli with nothing added, so very bland. The whole meal was extremely expensive and we left very disappointed. Will probably not return. This was not our first time there, but it was the first time we weren't happy with our dinner. We are very sad that the Bistro West closed as it was a restaurant where you could get a great dinner or lunch and not spend an arm and a leg to do so.
Food was great. I love grass-fed beef and, while I would have preferred more choices, the Australian filet mignon was perfect.
West Steak and Seafood is not cheap, but we feel we got our money's worth. The lamb and steak were cooked to perfection, the wine list is extensive, and the whiskey and creme brûlée after dinner were outstanding. It's not an everyday sort of place, but we look forward to returning.
