Very disappointed in our dinners. The cioppino was not to my husband's liking. An odd recipe and very little in the way of seafood. My steak was so tiny (and expensive) I cut in into tiny pieces just to make it last. The broccoli side dish was a big bowl of steamed broccoli with nothing added, so very bland. The whole meal was extremely expensive and we left very disappointed. Will probably not return. This was not our first time there, but it was the first time we weren't happy with our dinner. We are very sad that the Bistro West closed as it was a restaurant where you could get a great dinner or lunch and not spend an arm and a leg to do so.
Food was great. I love grass-fed beef and, while I would have preferred more choices, the Australian filet mignon was perfect.
West Steak and Seafood is not cheap, but we feel we got our money's worth. The lamb and steak were cooked to perfection, the wine list is extensive, and the whiskey and creme brûlée after dinner were outstanding. It's not an everyday sort of place, but we look forward to returning.
Excellent service and great food; however, not recommended for an intimate dinner. The noise level was that of a college bar even though my wife and I had a later reservation. Main course, compliments, and dessert were all superb -- but very overpriced.
food was awesome! i ordered the combination of filet mignon with 2 pcs of scallops and 2 pieces of jumbo shrimp for $59. hubby ordered the alaskan king crab legs and they were also delicious.
service was superb! our server was really attentive and took good care of us.
will definitely come back next time.
Amazing experience, amazing food, overall such a great experience
Celebrated valentine dinner at west for the second time. The food is always awesome. It is a busy night but I believe most of it is reservations so it’s not too bad. We were seated in the bar..I understand they need the whole restaurant. But seated at a small table for two which I expressed to the hostess wasn’t going to be ok as my husband was in an arm sling from a recent surgery and it is quite cumbersome. She sat us there anyway and soon after switched to a larger table. All in all dinner was great. We had expressed to waitress that we did not want our dinner coming right after the appetizer and it did. A restaurant like this should know better . My husband was upset as upon paying the bill they always give the women a long stemmed rose. Well that didn’t happen either. We will probably return as the food is really good and up in north county there is not a lot to choose from.

Great food, service. Expensive. Need larger selection of wines in 60-100 range. We found value, but not many choices considering that food alone for two runs 150 with soup/salad entree.
Our meal was truly delicious. We were pleased from the soup and lobster rolls thru every bite of dinner. I’ve been to West two or three times before and each time was special. I love that the chef doesn’t cover the wonderful flavor of the food with unnecessary suces or spices. So, you experience the quality and natural taste. Thank you
Francisco was out waiter and he was very attentive, but not over bearing. He was friendly and provided excellent service. It was my significant other's birthday and he surprised us with a nice dessert. Unexpected, but we were both very pleased with his service and the entire dining experience. Rib eye was perfect as was the spinach, mashed potatoes and cesar salad. We will definitely return and stay next door again.

It was our first time there. Portions are sizeable. Unfortunately, our main entrees were not very hot when served. Also the cowboy rib eye lacked any real flavor (lack of seasoning). Disappointing for a very nice cut of meat.
I took my wife there for her birthday. It was our first time there and we could not have been happier.... well we were seated by the kitchen which was less than optimal, but the service and good were so wonderful we quickly forgot about our seating.
Top notch establishment. We had lobster. Perfectly cooked, delicious. Sides were also excellent. Service was quick, professional, friendly. Good wine list, excellent cocktails.

Responsive and knowledgeable staff. Great appetizer (spring rolls), wonderful steak. Cooked perfect & very flavorable. Will definitely return again.
Food was excellent as was the server, Keristen. However the drinks were not acceptable Both of our drinks were watered down so much they did not have any taste and we don't think there was any alcohol. We sent the drinks back and the new drinks were better but not to the level of the quality of the food and service. We will not go to be bar in the future and will probably stick to wine for our beverage.
This place exceeded my expectations, even after all the 5 star reviews. We were greeted immediately and seated by the time of our reservation. Ann Marie, our server was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu.
As for the food? The shrimp cocktail could have been an entree! The fresh vegetables were beautiful and cooked to perfection. The Chilean seabass was perfectly seared and flakey with a sauce to die for!
The desserts, well they were equally as delicious but we could only tolerate a few bites after our * entrees! Fortunately we live in the area and will definitely be back soon!
