Omg! I love this place. The steak is delicious (the ribeye). Nice sexy date night because of the stunning view and intimacy of the place. The decor from the chandeliers to the candles at the table to the pre course meal the place sweetly whispers "date night". And maybe some other things that I can't write on open table. This place isn't cheap but well worth the price. Also keep in mind gratuity is built into the price. Yes that's right! Keep your 20% to yourself. You pay what's on the menu and tax and nothing else.

Good food selection, much improved from the old menu.
Service was prompt and well mannered.
If you like Mai Tai Cocktails you will love the way they are served here.
Also the bread at the table is Excellent! I judge many restaurants by the quality of their bread.
Overall a great dining experience and highly recommended.

Awesome place. Good food and drinks. Prices are a little high because the restaurant has a no tip policy so it balances out

I wanted to like this restaurant, but I was sorely disappointed. My intention was to treat my visiting mother to a wonderful jazz-brunch, even though it was my first time at West. I ordered the omelet, which was just okay, the breakfast potatoes were bland, and the english muffin barely toasted. My mom's waffle had to be sent back for being overcooked. I don't know why it's so difficult to cook a waffle correctly in a restaurant. The second time around was not a charm, and I think the batter was to blame. It was not a traditional waffle batter, nor was it good. The waffle was dense, bread-y, and dry. Management was nice in sending us a complimentary fruit bowl, but the service was lackluster, too. Our waiter only touched the table to take our order and refill water at the end of our meal. I had to enlist the help of a neighboring waiter to bring things like syrup, butter and jam, and to refire my mom's waffle. The highlight of the brunch was the coffee and the soft rhythms of the jazz band playing in the distance. They were wonderful.

This was a special occasion and they really blew it!!! The food was good. Service was very generic. I didn’t feel like a “guest” at all. They gave away my table which was promised to me when I checked in. The waiter didn’t say anything about tip being included so he took my additional tip too. My friend and I took one car out for a bit and when we got back they charged me $27 for my car. After all that, I had to call that evening to see why I didn’t get my open table points and found out they marked me a no show. Also, I find it very rude for the employees to be talking in a different language around the guests. I won’t go back.

We had brunch and were very pleased with everything. The view, of course, is awesome. There were three of us dining. The Belgium Waffle was good. The cornflake/almond French Toast was excellent! As was the Pork Belly Sandwich. We will definitely return to this restaurant for brunch, and look forward to dining here for lunch and dinner also.

The food was very good and the view was great! We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner and there was a Singles Mixer in the room off of the restaurant so it was noisy for a little while. The service was good but not great. One server came by and talked to us about our wine and said he would pour my husband a glass of something else to try and then never returned. Our main server was very nice but disappeared after he brought dessert. It was nice to not be rushed but it was getting late and we needed to get home. Would like to come back and try the seasonal cocktails, they looked very interesting!

We had a great dinner! Great ambiance, very cozy. Good HH price for drinks and apetizer and small botes. Elegant place for dinning. Hosts and servers are very friendly. Food are great and worth the price. Love everything in general including the “skip the tip”. Though they’re service is worth giving tip for. We’ll definitely come back and try breakfast/ brunch here.

I come to West about once every 5 or 6 weeks to meet half way with Valley friends. The view at night is pretty and watching others struggle with the traffic can be fun.

My date (age over 50) said her salmon was the best she had ever eaten. The best. It was moist but cooked well enough, properly seasoned, generous size.
I had the Portuguese fish soup which was a disappointment. There was sufficient fish and sausage in it, but the broth was close to tasteless. Mediterranean flavors should be vibrant not tepid. This soup did not make the grade.

The wines are 100% American which is fine, but the choices by the glass are limited and when I went, the list was going to change the next day and several choices were no longer available.

On a clear day you can see the ocean and more. The food is good so it is worth the views. Live Music was nice but made it hard to talk. Could be happier without.

The view was great, the AC was cranked to high considering it was empty and already cold outside. Our server went to break and no one came by to check on us until shortly before he cane back from break. Good food portions, great mimosas, overall would recommend.

This restaurant is a great place for people from The Valley and The West Side to meet. The food is very good, the view is amazing and the service was excellent. The prices are a bit high. But parking was free. We will be meeting there again. Next time we want to try happy hour!

Unfortunately, I was unable to visit this restaurant. I received a call 30 minutes prior to my reservations and was told the restaurant was closed, but that another setup had been arranged. Needless to say, I was not happy about this and cancelled my reservation and called another place. It was a special occasion for friends and the last minute change was not very considerate.

The whole point of going to West is for the penthouse restaurant. Instead, they closed the restaurant and had us go to a small room on the 16th floor that was unimpressive at best. I was wedged up next to an old fashioned window air conditioner, low ceilings, etc. There was no warning for the switch in rooms, and I even spoke with the restaurant the day before when confirming my reservation. There was no mention that the restaurant would be moved. And of course, service is slower because the food is being prepared in the upstairs kitchen, and when my breakfast arrived, it was cold. The manager tried to make up for the inconvenience with free mimosas and a discount, but the money wasn't the issue. I needed a special place for a business meeting.

I'd long wanted to visit the restaurant atop the Hotel Angeleno - and was glad to try it for a Sunday brunch. It was surprisingly uncrowded and we enjoyed a leisurly meal. The restaurant has fantastic views of the Brentwood area and the 405 fwy, and has a very calm peaceful vibe. Service was attentive and there was live music - subtle and very pleasant as well. I enjoyed my breakfast, though it was nothing exceptional. I will return however for the ambience, view, and service.

Joined several business friends for dinner recently at West. Views are outstanding. Ask for a window table. Quality and presentation of food was excellent. However, we were constantly looking to flag down our waiter. Twice we sent the water server to chase down our waiter. He even walked by our table three times looking away! The restaurant was full and maybe they were short staff? Maybe the waiter was incompetent? Maybe they need another training session?

The service was excellent. The ambience was beautiful & the live music put the total dining experience over the top. We loved our waiter. He made our dining experience excellent. Although it states no tiping on the receipt he definitely deserved a large tip. Out of all the restaurants we went to in LA this weekend for Birthday celebration this restaurant & staff take the cake. Everything perfect. He gave excellent food recommendations & it even tasted better because of how we were treated. I would come back here over & over again

INCREDIBLE! We were all blown away by how fantastic this restaurant was. Originally going for the view, I wasn't expecting a 5 star experience, but that's what we got. Every aspect of the evening was perfect. The servers were friendly, the drinks were great, the ambiance was lovely, but most importantly the food was outstanding. Every dish that came to the table was even better than the last. The lamb was quite possibly the best dish I've had all year. Will definitely be returning and can't wait to share this experience with friends.
