This was a special occasion and they really blew it!!! The food was good. Service was very generic. I didn’t feel like a “guest” at all. They gave away my table which was promised to me when I checked in. The waiter didn’t say anything about tip being included so he took my additional tip too. My friend and I took one car out for a bit and when we got back they charged me $27 for my car. After all that, I had to call that evening to see why I didn’t get my open table points and found out they marked me a no show. Also, I find it very rude for the employees to be talking in a different language around the guests. I won’t go back.
The ambiance, view, and food was great. The service was excellent as well.
We had brunch and were very pleased with everything. The view, of course, is awesome. There were three of us dining. The Belgium Waffle was good. The cornflake/almond French Toast was excellent! As was the Pork Belly Sandwich. We will definitely return to this restaurant for brunch, and look forward to dining here for lunch and dinner also.
we went to celebrate our anniversary my wife and I, she always wants to come to this place and I said ok it's a special night so let's go, but I never expected the great food the amazing service a beautiful view,so basically was a great night, expensive yes, but for special occasions its ok
A Good option for Valentine dinning.
The food was very good and the view was great! We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner and there was a Singles Mixer in the room off of the restaurant so it was noisy for a little while. The service was good but not great. One server came by and talked to us about our wine and said he would pour my husband a glass of something else to try and then never returned. Our main server was very nice but disappeared after he brought dessert. It was nice to not be rushed but it was getting late and we needed to get home. Would like to come back and try the seasonal cocktails, they looked very interesting!
We had a great dinner! Great ambiance, very cozy. Good HH price for drinks and apetizer and small botes. Elegant place for dinning. Hosts and servers are very friendly. Food are great and worth the price. Love everything in general including the “skip the tip”. Though they’re service is worth giving tip for. We’ll definitely come back and try breakfast/ brunch here.
I come to West about once every 5 or 6 weeks to meet half way with Valley friends. The view at night is pretty and watching others struggle with the traffic can be fun.
My date (age over 50) said her salmon was the best she had ever eaten. The best. It was moist but cooked well enough, properly seasoned, generous size.
I had the Portuguese fish soup which was a disappointment. There was sufficient fish and sausage in it, but the broth was close to tasteless. Mediterranean flavors should be vibrant not tepid. This soup did not make the grade.
The wines are 100% American which is fine, but the choices by the glass are limited and when I went, the list was going to change the next day and several choices were no longer available.
On a clear day you can see the ocean and more. The food is good so it is worth the views. Live Music was nice but made it hard to talk. Could be happier without.
Excellent food and service. One of my favorite restaurants!
The view from the 17th floor is fantastic; the atmosphere is great; the cuisine is excellent; the price is somewhat high but worth it.
The food was unexpectedly very, very good. Little pricey, but worth every cent. The staff were very attentive and quick to respond to our needs. The view from every angle was spectacular.
Food and Service were excellent.
Service was excellent
Good service and food
Service and food were very good.
The Ford was over cooked. My f rinds meal was not made how he requested it and it had to be re-made. Our server was not experienced and the other server who assisted had trouble smiling and being friendly with our table.
The view was great, the AC was cranked to high considering it was empty and already cold outside. Our server went to break and no one came by to check on us until shortly before he cane back from break. Good food portions, great mimosas, overall would recommend.
This restaurant is a great place for people from The Valley and The West Side to meet. The food is very good, the view is amazing and the service was excellent. The prices are a bit high. But parking was free. We will be meeting there again. Next time we want to try happy hour!
Unfortunately, I was unable to visit this restaurant. I received a call 30 minutes prior to my reservations and was told the restaurant was closed, but that another setup had been arranged. Needless to say, I was not happy about this and cancelled my reservation and called another place. It was a special occasion for friends and the last minute change was not very considerate.
The whole point of going to West is for the penthouse restaurant. Instead, they closed the restaurant and had us go to a small room on the 16th floor that was unimpressive at best. I was wedged up next to an old fashioned window air conditioner, low ceilings, etc. There was no warning for the switch in rooms, and I even spoke with the restaurant the day before when confirming my reservation. There was no mention that the restaurant would be moved. And of course, service is slower because the food is being prepared in the upstairs kitchen, and when my breakfast arrived, it was cold. The manager tried to make up for the inconvenience with free mimosas and a discount, but the money wasn't the issue. I needed a special place for a business meeting.
I'd long wanted to visit the restaurant atop the Hotel Angeleno - and was glad to try it for a Sunday brunch. It was surprisingly uncrowded and we enjoyed a leisurly meal. The restaurant has fantastic views of the Brentwood area and the 405 fwy, and has a very calm peaceful vibe. Service was attentive and there was live music - subtle and very pleasant as well. I enjoyed my breakfast, though it was nothing exceptional. I will return however for the ambience, view, and service.
Joined several business friends for dinner recently at West. Views are outstanding. Ask for a window table. Quality and presentation of food was excellent. However, we were constantly looking to flag down our waiter. Twice we sent the water server to chase down our waiter. He even walked by our table three times looking away! The restaurant was full and maybe they were short staff? Maybe the waiter was incompetent? Maybe they need another training session?
The service was excellent. The ambience was beautiful & the live music put the total dining experience over the top. We loved our waiter. He made our dining experience excellent. Although it states no tiping on the receipt he definitely deserved a large tip. Out of all the restaurants we went to in LA this weekend for Birthday celebration this restaurant & staff take the cake. Everything perfect. He gave excellent food recommendations & it even tasted better because of how we were treated. I would come back here over & over again
Great location and place for a girls get together. Enjoyed having cocktails in the lounge with a great view.
INCREDIBLE! We were all blown away by how fantastic this restaurant was. Originally going for the view, I wasn't expecting a 5 star experience, but that's what we got. Every aspect of the evening was perfect. The servers were friendly, the drinks were great, the ambiance was lovely, but most importantly the food was outstanding. Every dish that came to the table was even better than the last. The lamb was quite possibly the best dish I've had all year. Will definitely be returning and can't wait to share this experience with friends.
The WEST Staff is always wonderful! Fantastic view and atmosphere.
I loved the new SKIP THE TIP protocol as well.
We were served by Henry and he did a superb job serving us and informing us of all the specials and making recommendations. He was very attentive and even suggested a free appetizer on Yelp. We got free drinks from the manager and free desert for my fiancée for her birthday. It was overall great time with my love and friends!
A beautiful restaurant with an interesting menu. Everything we had was attractively presented and good. Great choice especially if you are staying in the hotel.
Met 8 girlfriends here for brunch. We had a last minute addition (our res was for 7 people), and the staff accommodated us with a smile. Our server was very attentive. Everyone enjoyed their food; nothing fancy, just standard American breakfast fare.
Bring back the brown bread
Lovely ambience and via. Good service and enjoyable food. We had a beautiful night.
We didn't have the opportunity to actually dine, as we were unaware of the restaurant being reserved for a special event. We were not informed of this prior, and showed up only to be sent to the lower floor, which holds only a few tables an essentially no view. How about telling us before showing up, when I specifically requested a table near the window?
I wanted a place with a view but the food and service had to be top-notch. After some research turned up fancy places with great views and mediocre reviews, we ended up at West on a recommendation from a co-worker. The view is breathtaking, ambiance is very chill background music is perfect and service is friendly if a bit stumbly in shift transitions. It's a gem of a spot and we'll definitely be back, with both clients and friends.
Beautiful view, service was great, great dining!! :)
This was my 100th time dining at the West, however it was my guests first. Unfortunately, they didn't mention there was a closed event happening in the main dining room, which is the most accessible way to the city view. The attending waiter was new and clumsily dropped the asparagus in the chair and on my purse, harming nothing except his pride and diminishing the dining experience we anticipated.
I definitely pardon the mistake, the oversight rehashing the main dining hall being occupied, but I don't pardon the lack of consideration. Management should've been informed and then an apology for the inconvenience.
I would still recommend this restaurant.
Not the best evening there. Food was not good and expensive. It does have a great view of the 405 if you like that
First visit. Ordered the Brie (sandwich) and Bisque. Best tomato bisque EVER. However the so called Brie sandwich was mostly unmentioned American or some other orange cheese with a few teaspoon sized pieces of Brie. Saving money? Not a good idea to fool customers. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. No second visit planned...
The server at the restaurant was excellent! I loved the Caribbean chicken and coming back just for that some time soon. Not having to pay a tip made it nice and we still received great service. Thank you for that!
