While food was a typical SoCal fare, service was excellent, friendly and non-obtrusive.
Perfect night but skip the Mac and cheese. Sorry.
This place was amazing and the menu was superb and in fact our server was more than attentive and surely made us feel at home and welcomed.
I've been here before, many times, this time the brunch food was naaaasssstyyy!!! Even the straight forward pancakes, dang!
I was very very disappointed!
Location was excellent. Service was excellent. A bit noisy when I arrived but was better once the music ended.
Easy parking and nothing was overpriced
The view, the nice service people and the jazz - really nice!
The dinner was one of the best I have ever had. Home made ingredients were superb and welcome
to be able to taste. The homemade dessert with the chocolate syrup stuffed in to the chocolate
cake and topped with the homemade ice cream was excellent as well. Service was great and the no tipping policy for West was a pleasant surprise
fantastic views, convenient valet parking, sufficient menu selection, aging interior furnishings.
Great views/food was great/noise level was good you could hold a conversation without shouting.
This is a non-gratuity restaurant so tip is included in cost of the food since the workers are paid a
living wage although we did leave a nominal tip.We will definitely be back
Food is great!
Soup was good but small portion in a cup. Not much presentation. Jambalaya was very good.
I am not alone in writing that the view is spectacular. Service and food were outstanding.
My stay at the Hotel and Restaurant was very elegant. I enjoyed the amenities. Valet parking was not a problem. The food was good. The locations and view from my room and restaurant was great. I was well pleased!
Overall, a lovely experience. Drinks were excellent. Food was very good with generous portions. Views were amazing. Staff were very attentive. We had a wonderful evening!
Restaurant is on the 17th floor , a spectacular view of city and ocean.
Food is delicious , nice presentation and large potions.
Great view, the restaurant looks bigger in pictures it’s a decent size. It’s not require to give tip that’s why I think the waiter wasn’t attentive. The food was ok for the price.
Food was great. Service was horrific.
Waitress came to our table and greeted us with. “what do you want to order”? No hello. No would you like a drink?
When she came by the 2nd time I gave my drink order. She asks “do you want to order any food? I said yes. Would you like to tell us if there are any specials? She says oh yeah then explains and doesn’t know how any of the items are prepared. Ie grilled, fried, baked?
Doesn’t offer bread but other tables have so we asked for some. Had to ask for table to be cleared after waiting 20 min. Another 20 min I ask do you offer dessert or should we go somewhere else ? She tells us about desert we order then have to beg for our check. Was our anniversary stayed overnight at the hotel - I put this in our dinner reservation. No mention of it during dinner
Great view, mediocre food, slow service.....
This is our favorite spot when we visit LA from San Diego. After having slogged our way thru LA on the 405, we love to got to West and relax while looking at the city and the 405. Good food and service. We have recommended it to friends visiting the Getty.
It was ok. We were moved into another room, so it changed the whole feeling of what I expected. The host was fantastic. Had orderves earlier and the were good. The bar tender male could have been more pleasant. He looked like he did not want to be there.
I was referred to WEST for my anniversary and I can definitely say that we’ll be back! I’ve already told my friends and family that they need to go here. There was a waiter named Henry and he is PHENOMENAL!!! Henry is the nicest guy, really on top of everything, and a waiter that I wish would work at every single restaurant I’ve ever been too. He was a total class act and there aren’t enough amazing words that my girlfriend and I could say about Henry :) If you are lucky enough to have him serving you then you will definitely understand. Best waiter I’ve probably ever had and definitely helped make this anniversary memorable for a very long time. In addition, the food was terrific and very reasonable prices. We had the ribeye and jambalaya and both were delicious and so was the lava cake. Also, picture perfect views to take of Los Angeles if you want a great photo! :)
We arrived, found our way up to West on the top floor only to be told fairly rudely that the restaurant was booked for a private event and dinner would instead be served on the rather depressing lounge on the 16th floor. No apologies offered!
Terrible service, terrible on beyond, average food. I want to this restaurant thinking I was going to see great views of the city and eat some scallops. But instead I was placed in some random overflow room at a small table with an air-conditioning blowing on me. Absolutely terrible I will never go back
Loved it! Amazing view! Great food and service. P.S. It's a NO TIP restaurant / hotel!
The cocktail service was a bit slow in the lounge, (waited 30 min before we got drinks) but dinner service was on point.
I had invited a friend , who resides in Germany and Australia, for breakfast. The restaurant was a mess, either because of too many guests or not enough employees. Nobody at the reception area, then telling us we have to wait 15 - 20 minutes, which then got reduced (we had a reservation) to let me clean up a table for you. Still we waited over 10 minutes, while other guests arrived and started to make up a line to be seated. Then after 11 minutes we had not been offered any coffee or similar. Once I got a waiter (Aaron he was excellent) things started to roll along. Somehow the staff was not in harmony at all. Aprons, which were dirty and my guest mentioned dirty finger nails of a waitress. The food quality was excellent. My comments might not be to anyone's liking but are supposed to be constructive criticism to make things better.
Fantastic view and excellent service. Food is good. A great place to relax and watch the traffic instead of being stuck in it.
Our favorite place to go for special occasions! Great view, ambiance, and food!
With great views posted on the website, I was excited to at least have brunch at West. However, upon arrival at 12:30pm on a Saturday, there was no one to seat us, and we wandered around until someone finally took notice and sat us. Many tables were not busses and no staff was in sight until about ten minutes after being seated we were met by an underwhelming waitress. After putting in drink orders, which didn’t arrive for another ten minutes, we were asked our order and left to sit for another twenty minutes. Mind you, this was a table of five people, and there was only one other couple dining in the entire restaurant. What should have been taken as an indicator by me that this was not a place to have brunch was soon obvious when our food was delivered to middling results. My burger was delicious, however the fries were obviously from a frozen bag and bland. Everyone else’s breakfast type items were met with little excitement, as they also didn’t deliver on the flavor.
Beautiful views of the Westside, but that’s all. Come for a drink.
All aspects of the evening were delightful on all counts. Good service, food and ambiance made for a very successful night out on the town.
I celebrated New Year’s Eve with my girlfriend here. For 150 each, we got a wonderful dinner, a lovely view, and a glass of Moët each. There were also some small party favors. The food was great, she had the lobster bisque and though I’m not the biggest fan of lobster I thought it was very good. The Filet Oscar was exceptional. I tried the pork belly, which was cooked very well.
Delicious food and wonderful views! We like the tip-free policy and our bill was comparable to what we pay with tip in similar restaurants in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
We had a lovely low key Christmas dinner there. Beautiful view, nice menu choices. Great service. 2 of our party of 5 were about 30 minutes late and they did not give us a hard time at all. I would go back!
The hostess never showed up. We waited for a long while and were ignored by staff. The view is beautiful and the decor is nice, but that's all the good I can say. They had 2 servers on the floor, no one else we ever saw. Seems no one is in charge of the place and no one cares. I actually went behind the hostess stand and validated my own parking. As we were getting on the elevator, one of the servers suddenly became interested. I told him to go deliver the food in his hands, it was getting cold.
A great place to enjoy the view and good food. Love the “no tip” pricing. Very friendly staff especially Bianca.
The waiter was not attentive. He did the very minimum.
First of all, the restaurant on the top floor was closed so they served everyone on the 16th floor. Secondly there weren’t many of us and yet the service was very slow. Had to wait very long to keep getting our water refilled. Lastly the ambience was blah. It looked like they just took an empty room and made it into a makeshift restaurant at the last minute. If I knew that the restaurant was going to be close, we would’ve never gone there that night. They should’ve told us when we made the reservation that we would not be eating in the restaurant level!
The most bland food I have ever had. There were 5 of us and each had something different including appetizers and everything from the apps to the main courses was bland. I never put salt or peppe on my food and could not get enough on it that’s how bland the food was. Cocktails were good and that’s about it.
Lovely to look at, wonderful view. Drinks were delicious but my date and I were disappointed with the food. I had scallops and shrimp over udon noodles with a brown sauce. It was extremely salty and I could not eat the noodles because they were dripping in the sauce. My girlfriend had rib eye with puttanesca (which, admittedly is a salty sauce) and it was so salty even after scraping off the sauce that she did not enjoy it.
We liked everything else and will probably go back to the bar side and enjoy drinks and snacks with a great view.
Good food, annoying background music. Not good for conversation.
