The outdoor patio is a true gem, as it is modeled to replicate a picturesque Parisian street. West Plains Bistro also offers professional catering services, including staffing, beverages and food.
Service is always fabulous.
Mains are exceptional. The trout and schnitzel always top notch
Save room for dessert all are made in house.
Atmosphere is cozy
Great place for lunch or dinner! Pleasantly surprised. Excellent service. Looking forward to coming back in the spring/summer so I can sit on their quaint village patio!!!! I was there for lunch but will definitely be back for dinner with husband and friends.
Squash, sweet potato and pear soup was superb. Salmon in puff pastry with goat chees and sun dried tomatos was absolutely delicious. Wonderful service too.
It was very noisy. A table of 3 loud men beside us. I asked for a booth but ‘it was set for 3’ and we were only 2 so I was told we couldn’t have it. The food is excellent but the decor needs to be updated.
A hidden gem. Honestly, the best beef tenderloin I have ever had. The meat melted in your mouth. It is truly a hidden gem.
As I suffer from severe food allergies, they were able to accommodate any need I had. Well worth the price. Going back on Thursday!!!!
We chose this restaurant (as it was recommended by a friend) to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday. All 4 of us loved the welcoming and warm ambiance as soon as we walked in. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. The chef, Brandon, really knows his stuff and we were eager to compliment him on his absolutely delicious and visually appealing creations. From start to finish, we all savored every bite and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! Thank you, West Plains Bistro for making our special night so very delightful!
Three of us attended at West Plains Bistro prior to the Elton John concert in Toronto. We were quite early(4:15) but everything was as expected. We explained that we had a train to catch and our waiter made sure that we were out in plenty of time without feeling rushed in any way.
Of our group one was a vegan , one was a vegetarian and one "meat" eater. All of us had plenty of choice and a delicious meal.
We really enjoyed our dinner. It was my friends first time and she was delighted. There were many tempting options on the menu. The decor is cozy and the patio very quaint
Memorable Evening due to Exemplary Service
My friend and I meet monthly in the GTHA for a long, leisurely dinner and West Plains Bistro was the restaurant of choice tonight. I was early, my friend was quite late. Annie, our server was delightful. She kept tabs on me (and my waterglass) and certainly never made me feel unwelcome, taking up a table for so long. Upon arriving, my flustered friend lost her earring back and was down on the floor looking for it. Back came Annie – down on her knees, flashlight at the ready. Despite encouragement to go back to her “real job”, Annie kept at it til the earring back was found. She read and honoured our pace for the evening, checking in with enough regularily for us to feel cared for without being interrupted. Pleasant, engaging and helpful, she really made the evening particularly memorable.
My friend enjoyed the salmon early-bird special – and indeed, it was great value. I chose two appies instead. The pate was very tasty and beautifully presented. However, the lobster and leek was very dry, there was little lobster, and the balance between filling and phylo was very phylo heavy. In addition, it was overpriced for what arrived. I understand it is a relatively new menu item and encourage it to be rethought as it’s quite out of keeping with the consistently tasty and nicely presented food I’ve come to expect here.
We love this restaurant & have never been disappointed. The food and service are great. The chef updates the menu with the seasons and each night there are a number of specials, so there is always something new to try. We went on Monday Mussel night; turns out that it was half price wine night, too! We love the curried mussels and I also ordered their new sprout salad which was delicious and full of different tastes and textures. Price is $ to $$, but well worth it.
Have eaten there several times and never been disappointed. Always have good daily specials and the service is top notch.
Always great food and service
One of our favourite restaurants in Burlington
So nice, warm atmosphere, good food, fast service. Eat here regularly.
Can hardly wait to go again
The service was slow because it was so busy. One dish (salmon en croute) was cool and the crust soft. Salads were good. There were several small children in the restaurant who tended to squeal a lot. The parents were attentive to them but it was difficult to visit with friends.
This was a great find. Have wanted to try for a long time and not disappointed. Great variety in menu so something for everyone. Nice ambience. Award winning restaurant and food great. Price reasonable. Only downside was the Temperature in restaurant was a bit too warm.
Everything was great but the AC was overworked. All in all, still one of the best restaurants for a meal. I've been many times and never disappointed.
Wait staff were awesome seated us in a quiet spot and did not rush us
We come to this restaurant for all our special occasions
Highly recommend this restaurant
Outstanding Food, excellent service, cozy atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend.
My husband and I had been married in our backyard in the morning. We took our witnesses to West Plains Bistro for a lunch celebration. We asked for a booth. The service was excellent and the food was celebratory. We were proud to take people there as someplace intimate and friendly to mark this special occasion.
Great local restaurant. Prix fixed schnitzel dinner was fab value!
The duck special was very good, but delivered closer to medium than medium rare. Wonderful zinfandel from Marietta.
This restaurant turned out to be a good find. We stopped here after having visited the Royal Botanical Gardens. The service was excellent and the was delicious. It definitely is good value for your money.
The Salmon was excellent, wife had the chicken had a lot of flavours but she enjoyed it!
Took hubby for birthday dinner. Delicious menu and lovely presentation on your plate. Cozy atmosphere and the servers very friendly with a desire to please. We were sat down right away but if we weren't there is a bar area to wait in. I would definitely recommend for a special treat.
The occasion, ambience and service were great, but the pork medallion was over cooked.
My go to restaurant when having lunch or dinner with a friend or spouse. The food is always good, the service is courteous and knowledgeable and the ambience is great for conversation -- no yelling required.
Food was excellent, service was great! Very busy spot
Bring back the rabbit! It was an excellent special one night. The salads, French onion soup, fish and chips are second to none. Our pork medallions we’re dlightly overdone, but very flavourful. The beef bourganeon (sp) was fabulous. All the staff are exceptional.
Food and service can always be relied upon. Restaurant was too draft with overhead fans operating.
Great staff, excellent service, varied menu. Hard to pick just one thing!
Perfect for a goup of 9 business associates. Excellent food and ambiance.
Over all food was good. A little noisy for conversation.
No dessert is ever worth $10.00 or tea/coffee @$4.00!!!
We were asked to politely leave as someone else was waiting for our table!!!!
The food here is amazing! The beef bourguignon, beef tips, fish and chips are all excellent, we will return!
We shared appetizers..crab/shrimp cakes..classic escargot and warm beet salad.. absolutely delicious!
West Plains Bistro is a wonderful restaurant! We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, the food and the service. My husband had the pickerel which he said was delicious and I had the french onion soup (which was one of the best I ever had) and the warm beet salad, which was also very delicious. The zucchini fritters were also fabulous as an appetizer. There are lots of good menu options. We live in Etobicoke, and I wish we had this restaurant there! We'll be back next time we come to Burlington.
I had a great dinner experience at Plains Road Bistro. The food was delicious with good service. I would recommend it for tasty dining.
We always get together at the West Plains Bistro ..... great place!
Loved the entree - portion was a little small. Good atmosphere for catching up with friends.
Both our main dishes were over cooked to the point that my meat was so dry - it should have been moist and juicy.
Our server was excellent and interacted with us.
