Weslodge Bar & Grill
All staff was amazing as well as the food and ambiance
Had the fried chicken, chopped salad and mac and cheese as a side. Everything was so delicious but we had the side first for a good 15 minutes before the rest of our food. Very good old fashioned.
Brutal experience. We waited 45 minutes to get a drink for a party of 6. It never got better, we skipped desert for my son birthday after having the dirty dinner plates sitting in front of us for 20 minutes.
Was so excited to try the burger special and it didn’t live up to the hype. The bun was very underwhelming and ruined it. It was quite stale
Although the drinks and food were delicious and the ambiance was outstanding- the service was severely lacking. Quite slow to receive drinks and I did not receive my meal for approximately 10 minutes after my guests received theirs. As they all waited for my meal to arrive before eating, their meals sat and became quite cold. The server and manager both stopped by to check in, however, I wouldn't consider either of their visits to have been an apology. Rather, they spent their time at the table providing an excuse as to where my meal went (to another table). As someone who worked for many years as a server and restaurant supervisor, I was appalled at the lack of quality customer service. By no means was I expecting to have my meal paid for by the restaurant, but any smaller act to show that they understanded my frustration would have been greatly appreciated- even a sincere apology would have sufficed.
We were offered a table right beside the entrance which was a bit noisy. They did allow us to get a table tucked in the corner but not a great view of the entire decor and ambiance, so a bit of a bummer.
Food selection was smaller than I remember, but everyone enjoyed their meals.
Drinks were great. Staff were friendly enough, but not as spectacular as last time.
Maybe its time to get a new hangout.
Our server was great!
Came on a quiet Sunday night, food and service was wonderful.
Everything was well done. The price though I would say was a little expensive for the fish and chips. However my experience was excellent. I would go back again!
Promptly seated us upon arrival exactly at our reservation time, super friendly and attentive server. Drinks were oh so good and the food was Hot and delicious. Music added to what is already a superbly decorated and intimate feeling restaurant. We will indeed return!
We would have preferred a quieter table by the window as we had requested while making the reservation.
Had date night with my fiancée and what a treat the night was. We shared a few small apps and some of the tastiest oysters we’ve had before a main and a few small sides which were all fantastic. The service at the bar was impeccable and they really know how to make an amazing cocktail. The wine list is nice and varied while not being too large and is also well priced. It was bright enough that we could see and read our menus without issue but not so bright that it spoiled the mood. The music was at a level that you could hear it but we were never talking over it, perfect background level.
Great food and ambiance. Our server seemed like she’d rather be anywhere but at work. Hope she’s having a better day today.
Our waiter was great! Attentive and friendly, not too overbearing.
I would definitely go back and try other things on the menu. Winterlicious menu was a great deal too!
Went for Winterlicious. Delicious food, great service, and lovely atmosphere. Great spot for a date or a gathering with friends!
Been to Weslodge several times. The food is great and has a cool western atmosphere. However, this time our service was very slow and overwhelmed, with us waiting for over 20 minutes for the credit card machine after receiving our bills. The food is also excellent. Make sure you get the fried chicken and fried cauliflower - Personal favourites!
Everything was really OK. From location, to service, food, drinks.. Will be coming back for sure
The NYE dinner was too expensive for what we had. Also the tuna tartare was too acid with too much vinegar that you can't taste the tuna. Portions way too small (stater, main, dessert) for 90CAD total for each person and also the place too dark to see also the menu.
By The way the ambience seems cool so I will give it a try again maybe during a normal day this time.
New Year’s Eve. got sat at the bar. Was given very small portions for the pre fixed menu. The steak was so tiny and was bloody even when I asked for it well done. At first I was told they couldn’t do anything about it and then they took it to fix it. When given to me well done. They’re we’re two pieces, one cold and one warm. Overall the staff was very friendly but for New Year’s Eve and for it to already be a fixed menu there was a lot of confusion. Not worth it.
I’ve been before, and recommended it to my friends for New Year’s Eve. However, I don’t think they will be going back, and I’m not sure if I will.
Service was very good, and the place has a great look. The music was way too loud, especially when the DJ started… but, it was New Year’s Eve, so fine.
The big problem was the food. Very tasty, but the size of the main was an absolute joke. We had a fixed price for a three course meal, and we were still very hungry by the end of it. And, of course, there was no other food to order...
We bought two bottles of champagne - that’s where you make the money. Skimping on portion size will lose you your future customers.
Sat at bar with a friend. Bar tenders were slow and it was not busy, since it was early. They never asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything else etc once wine was delivered. I asked if they serve charcuterie, was told no and he referred me to a diff restaurant meanwhile I had ordered a bottle of wine so clearly I wasn’t going elsewhere. Not to mention that doesn’t look good if they’re telling me to spend my money elsewhere!
Friend and I were irritated and left after wine was finished. Also wine list is nothing special and overpriced for what is offered and wine per glass is a rip off!
Great food. Love the decor. Took a long time to get our food. Wait staff not very attentive.
The food was ok, the service was really really slow
The only good thing was the ambience
The reservation was for 9:15 but at 9:30 our table was still not ready. The staff gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to make up for it which was nice but we only got our table close to 10pm. Food and cocktails were great. Waitress was rarely at our table since it was a very busy Saturday night. Aside from being seated late, overall it was a good experience.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience. After waiting for 45 minutes for drinks then we were told did not have the beer, wine and Baileys that we wanted. Then the food took forever and she forgot to offer coffee at the end. The service was bad but we were in 3 couples so one couple gave 18% tip, other 10% and the other 15%. Lina our waitress was not happy so she would say Merry Christmas in saying goodbye ironically because she was whispering to the other waiter with an angry face on us. How rude. Her name was Lina. She should be grateful that she got something after the poor service we provided us.
It was great however at the beginning I ordered a turkey and a sidecar of coke my sidecar had lots of particles in the glass and my friends wine had lip stick all over the rim.
The food was tasty great scotched egg and the salad I had also was under estimated, it was soo tasty.
The server had great conversation recommending a couple places to go and visit. Even a Netflix suggestion for the evening, keep up the personal touches however for the drinks both being very dirty no compensation was done just a new one.
It is too noisy for my liking. It's pricey for the amount of food you get. However, I would go back because the service is excellent and there is a fun atmosphere
It was my second time there, the first time was great, but the second time everything was horrible but the food. The waitress was definitely on some kind of drugs, she was breaking plates, which what I though was the manager (Tall, slim guy with faded hair) encouraged us to applaud to that behavior. The service was horrible to a point the bartender had to step in and take our orders and basically do her job. I came there for my birthday and no one acknowledged it, even though it stated it on my reservation and also told her. The bartender was also on something, he was definitely not all there. At the end, one of my friends was last to pay her bill and the waitress was no where to be found. My friend had to manually punch in the numbers in the machine and completed the transaction. The restaurant wasn't full either on a Sunday which is fine, but that kind of behavior is unacceptable. I really like the food there and everything about the place, that's why I came back. Total disaster for the service and never experienced something like that before. I might give the restaurant one more chance, but on a different day that the staff isn't waisted on a substance, only because the food is good.
Sorry was disappointed, mainly with the food. French fries were cold, and really not good. Not sure what potatoes you are using!,
One of our guests had to wait for her food while the rest of us had already been served.
I was just expecting a much higher standard for downtown Toronto.
Fun and classy decor with delicious food and low lighting that still allows to see the food and cleanliness of the table and cutlery ;)
From the moment we walked in the door, or rather, when the door finally opened, our experience was disappointing. Our reservation was not recognized, we had to show our open table confirmation to get our table in the empty restaurant. After 15 mins of waiting to be served, we wandered the floor, found a server ourselves, we then poured our own wine and cleared our own dishes. From start to finish, we were met with unerring levels of mediocrity - McDonald’s level service at very premium prices.
My eggs were burnt and everything else tasted old. But the service was great!
The food and drinks were great. Servers were courteous and detail oriented. Isaiah the bartender went above and beyond with his eye for detail and cocktail knowledge.
Great decor and ambience. Music wasn't too loud. Food was delicious. Service wasn't superb but everyone was nice. 8/10.
Loved it! Great cozy feel for a brunch. Food was delicious, I got the trout scrambled eggs and highly recommend! I’ve been before in the evening and love the ambience by the door as well. I recommend this place for day and night get togethers
Overall I really like this restaurant and have been many times. Maybe it was a busy Saturday but the slight modifications made to the food orders didn't get done right. Not up to their usual standard.
Enjoyable. Great service.
Great food and nice friendly staff!
It was extrememly dark in the restaurant. Could barely read the menu. Due to this I thought I was ordering a $16 glass of Remy only to have read out Remy XO instead of the VSOP by mistake. It was a mistake that cost me $45 for a 1oz shot of the wrong brandy. Management did nothing to help so my bill ended up being $107 plus $5 tip to a great waitress. 🙄 Becareful when ordering as the menu prices are not in order they are all over the place.
Check out the photos I took. I took one of then twice to reflect how dark it truly was in the restautant compared to the brightness from the flash on my smartphone.
Food was really good. Great 80's and 90's music. Not too loud we could hear eachother. Then again on my reservation I did request a 'fairly quiet booth'. Food prep time was decent. I would go again, but ask verbally cost of drinks before making my order.
Terrible service. Burnt bread used for sandwich, tried to hide burned side on this inside. sold out early of one of the main options.
