   We have visited the pub several times over the past few years for a family Sunday lunch and always had a good time. The food is always good but sadly on this occasion there was a local man who was very loud and used bad language which we felt made the atmosphere quite difficult.....we ate quickly , paid & left and not sure we will revisit if the clientel stays the same....which is quite sad when we always enjoyed it. Staff were nice but maybe a word to this guy may have been useful.

   This was an enjoyable experience with good traditional pub food and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and prompt other than desserts that took a while. Only very minor negatives were being seated next to an out of use serving area and happy house music from the 90’s that was being played loudly from the kitchen. Overall though I’d recommend this place and it was refreshing to actually do good pub food without trying to pretend to be a high end restaurant.

   One the best Sunday lunches we have had. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding and custard which was amazing. Thank you.

   We attended the quiz, while we were on holiday in Amble. The staff were very friendly and we would highly recommend and would return next time in area.

   Excellent service from waitress. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Good food served promptly. A positive experience.

   After sitting at our table for 25 minutes we had to attract a member of staffs attention to order our food. After another 15 minutes a different member of staff came across and asked what we were waiting for. We replied our starters and then they turned up a further 10 minutes later. By the way the restaurant was not really busy and we were after 'the lunchtime rush'. The starters were nice but on the small side for the cost. After finishing our starters we had regular sized carvery lunches. My husband was disappointed at the portion of meat he received but it was fine for me. The veg was lovely and hot and the gravy was delicious. All in all the service was poor but the meal was quite good.

    We were booked in for 12.15 but arrived early and had a drink 1st..1st up for food and couldn't fault it..two clean plates from us..lovely,definitely will go back..one of the best carvery's we've had. Gary/Amanda
