   We have been coming for many years and brought some friends with us who hadn’t been before. One was a vegetarian. There was limited choice on the menu and only a vegetarian burger on offer. Unfortunately this was poor. The portions were small and although we looked at the dessert menu there was only four to choose from non of which a chocolate one.

   The staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. However - and this seems to be the theme of reviews - there was a large party (sat night - I should've known) who turned the volume up... but we did have the seats furthest away in the window which was lovely... until the party decided to go in and out to have smokes outside, continually leaving the door open, so we were constantly in a draught. The staff had warned us that the party was arriving so we got out food order in quickly before them. Another however.... apparently our order got mislayed, we got out food after an hour. It was delicious but we were really hungry by then. We got a free glass of wine and offered dessert on the house - I didn't pay so I'm not sure if it actually came free on the bill.. It wasn't awful by any means, but I should choose my timing better, more a place for the party crowd.

   Unfortunately the night we were there they only had two members of service staff, covering both bar and food orders table service...having said that we weren't in a rush, but this affected the overall experience. Our cocktails were served only 2/3 full which they recognised before we did and said we could have them for a discounted price...then charged us full price on the bill... The £21 steaks came out with uncooked cold vine tomatoes.. very odd. We decided to go elsewhere for desserts/coffees!

   Had a lovely Sunday lunch. Which enjoy immensely, a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

   We just happened to go when there was a large party booking, so noise created fun atmosphere but also made it difficult to have a conversation- depends what you are looking for! Staff are very pleasant and helpful. I had the mussels for main course- really good.
