Food was amazing and so was the service. Sean was our bartender and was nothing short of wonderful!
Good food, good service. Excellent place for brunch.
Great brunch. They were very accommodating for our large group
Service was lacking. We were seated immediately, with no problem. Initial WAITER took our order and then disappeared. Drinks were very delayed. Bartender ended up being our waiter. Manager came over to note that our waiter was too busy to serve us and that others were take care. there seemed to be confusion and delays throughout our experience. There appeared to be plenty of staff on site, however, I just did not feel that our party was looked after. There are just too many great options in Houston and superior service is what is expected. I don't like when I see staff standing around, chatting with each other, when our part was not offered dessert or coffee following our meal and I had to track down our waiter to get our check. Just not acceptable.
Brunch for my wife’s Birthday. I had the French toast (which was a little dry) especially since the do not have syrup and the sausages as good and fresh. The lemon aide had very little sugar so it was really lemon water. The service good and attentive.
We were sat in the smaller “party room” at a small table for two. There was a large table of at least 12 in the same small room and they were extremely loud.
The hostess passed at least 10 empty tables while enroute to take us to the table, yet apparently chose to sit us at a two person table.
We did not complain because we didn’t want to make a scene to the large party, but this was just a bad experience.
We have been to Weights and Measures many times and always had a solid experience, but this time it was an F.
In addition the valet only option is a major turn off.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. We were a party of 4 and we were seated immediately, which was great because my husband is very impatience. Our waiter was excellent and helped us make choices because it was our first time there. Everyone's food was great. We will be returning.
Weights and Measures is a great place to eat with family and friends. The casual atmosphere, competent staff and good food have made it a new favorite for weekend brunch.
I really appreciated Jose’s service. He was patient, attentive and responsive. My friend and I just wanted to have a good visit. The really great thing was he didn’t make constant interruptions to our conversation. It’s really rare to be allowed to talk without waitstaff making it all about them.
A bit over-rated. Scallops were good.
It was our first dinner at Weights and Measures, but it will not be our last! From the moment we arrived, the General Manager, Angela Moore, made us feel like their favorite customer. Then I realized she made everyone feel like that! The bar staff was attentive and smiling and served up some delicious charcuterie (loved the pickles, too) and bubbly. Our waiter, Wes, was very personable and waited on us effortlessly (or at least made it seem that way). It was a real pleasure to reconnect with Chef Richard Kaplan (who of a certain generation could forget his Paperbag Chocolates). His lamb chops, salad, pastas, and dessert, were exceeded only by his warm smile (well his smile, and maybe the perfect Italian wine recommendations) as he stopped by our table several times. Clearly, he enjoys what he is doing. It is a well designed restaurant, and a pleasure to dine in. The bag of pastries from the bakery on our way out made for a sweet Sunday morning. Can't wait to come back and try brunch!
The waiter was extremely hard to understand, he spoke quietly and incoherently so legitimately every interaction was near impossible to understand what he asked, recommended, etc. Further, the dinner was for a Birthday and we were charged for the dessert...
Good food. Excellent service
My husband and I went for lunch. It was fantastic. The restaurant has such a nice vibe and is always immaculate. The food was perfect. We both had salads. I had tuna and he had salmon. It was so delicious. And a nice coffee and chocolate croissant for dessert. Loved the entire experience.
While the food was fine...
I just didn't find the experience to be as FAB as I have in the past.
Perhaps it is because we just keep getting new amazing places?
Not sure...but they need to up the game a bit.
Tried the hamburger this time - which I had passed on in earlier visits -
Glad I tried it - excellent as every thing else.
I went for a business lunch. I had a salmon burger and it was tasty. My only complaint was that we were seated under one of the speakers. It was a bit loud. I had never had that problem before. I recommend Weights and Measures for lunch and for dinner prior to the theater.
I requested a quiet table and put that it was a birthday celebration in the notes. Neither request was mentioned. We definitely did not have a table in a quiet spot. The cheese board we ordered was good but some of the cheese looked like it had been sitting out - it had dried out areas. I ordered halibut and got a bite that had at least 6 bones in it. One piece of my halibut was good but the other half was dry - overcooked. This was our 4th or 5th visit to the restaurant. My meal on previous visits was better.
Terrific restaurant. Excellent meal--exemplary waitstaff.
Always a fabulous experience. Food is outstanding
Food was excellent! Great recommendations from the waiter. Ribeye meatballs, pork chop and crepe brûlée were wonderful!
Great food and service. Not too fussy. We went with children and they were very accommodating. I would definitely return.
We went here for a birthday celebration because it was close to MATCH, where we had theater tickets. Traffic made us 15 mins late, and we called the restaurant to let them know. On our arrival, we informed the staff that we had to leave in an hour for the theater and was told that that would not be a problem. The appetizer of Zucchini fritters was tasty but the fritters came in a strange honey sauce which was too sweet for an appetizer. As we were finishing it, our waiter informed us that our entre would be right along. Then we waited and waited and the waiter was not to be seen. The two tables next to us in the far back corner of the very large venue got their checks and cleared out. Staff came to vacuum around those empty tables. I let the man know that the vacuum was disturbing and he asked me if he could then sweep around the tables, leaving me feel guilty for interrupting him. The other tables were reset and empty. No entree came to ours. I saw our waiter and called him, and he said our entry was being plated and then disappeared. After five minutes, I called the man who had been sweeping and told him we had only 15 minutes left to eat. He brought the plates to our table with our check, a few minutes later. The food was good, but by now, our evening dinner had been ruined. We ate hurriedly and had no time left to order any of the desserts that the menu had made so attractive.
Well meaning but annoying server. A good server is attentive but unobtrusive. I felt sorry for our sever because he couldn’t help it but he was really annoying. Food was very good as usual
We made the reservation and then were told that we still had to wait the same amount of time as someone who did not have a reservation. It took forever to get the coffee.
Staff was friendly and helpful - great meal and wine pairing suggestions.
Great atmosphere. Server was excellent. Spinach was a little salty, but they were very accommodating and brought a new serving to us.
The service was exceptional. Courteous and tentative servers. We had several items from the Happy Hour Menu and they were excellent. The dessert of the day was carrot cake and it was delicious. It was loaded with raisins, and moist. The top was covered in huge walnut chunks. And, the frosting tasted like cream cheese! The flavors came through and DID NOT have that overly sweet, sickening sugar overload quality to it.
Waiter basically absent after he took our order. Salmon was raw in the center, was ordered at medium. Chicken and donuts - chicken was not even as good as I could get at a fast food restaurant. When we mentioned to the waiter that we didn’t care for the chicken (one of the few times he graced our presence) he just rolled his eyes and walked away. Didn’t expect a comp or anything like that, but not even an acknowledgement or ask if we would like to order something different.
Great meal but service was poor given they aim at a more fine dining experience in the evenings. I would still go back but maybe not with a group.
I received a call the day before to confirm my request for a birthday dessert to celebrate my friend’s birthday. This didn’t seem to be communicated to the wait staff, because I had to request it when they didn’t bring anything. The food was all right and the wait staff was friendly and attentive though.
Outstanding service. Great food. Waiter was the best!
Always great and fun due to waiters, bar tenders. Food innovative and good. Different items on menu each time and some good repeats. A favorite
Thank you Weights + Measures staff for accommodating all of my guests during my birthday celebration. Additionally, the waitress assisting our table was thoughtful and gifted me a freshly baked pastry. The food was tasty and filling and the atmosphere was soothing and welcoming.
From the moment we sat down till the check came it was heaven. Starting with drinks we ordered the meat plate - we are fans of charcuterie- and we paired it with the hummus. The drinks came- clean green? I think that’s the name - was a good choice - and shortly after we had beautiful appetizers in front of us. The hummus was topped with roasted mushrooms that could have been their own entree - the pita was nice and crisp. The bread was lightly toasted with several options to top including house-made pickled veg. Afterward we ordered dinner - the duck was divine. The gnocchiette was served with house sausage with a sage butter sauce. melted in my mouth. Tandoori chicken was tender and the polenta it was served with equally amazing. The pizza is always good. For dessert it was coffee, carrot cake and flourless chocolate cake with a chocolate ancho Chile gelato.... to. Die. For.
The atmosphere is fun, trendy, clean. The chairs are comfy and the tables spacious enough to seat anyone without feeling cramped. It was a lovely evening to be remembered. Thank you!
Fantastic lunch! The service was amazing and the grilled cheese was unique. Delicious and fun! Will definitely be back!
Brunch wasn’t anything special. The food/drink was average and the pastry menu was limited.
Great food and fun atmosphere!
First time and really enjoyed brunch!
