Excellent food. I have been coming to the Outer banks for years and passes it many times. Seen it on Diners, Drive ins and Dives and was impressed. It did not disappoint. Wonderful service and the food was excellent and at a fair price.

Leah was a wonderful server - polite, answered our questions, and just a delight. We hope to have her the next time we are there.

The service and beer were great. We liked the liverwurst sweet potato appetizer. The schnitzel was very dry and over cooked and would be more authentic with mushroom gravy. The meatloaf was very dense and had a nice flavor. The sauerkraut was very sour and I generally love it but not this time. We also had pork tenderloin and it was just ok, overcooked and dry. The red cabbage was very good! Overall it was just average for the food. The beer was very good! The server was excellent!

Gave the restaurant four stars because we were rushed. The last reservation available on Open Table was at 7:45. Made ours for 7:15. They were not busy. Food was delivered to our table by 7:30, and the staff turned at least 50% of the lights off at 7:40. It was very noticeable and very uncomfortable. What would have happened if we had chosen the 7:45 reservation option? These places on the OBX need to stick to their advertised closing times, regardless of how many patrons they have. Food was good, service was good, but I won’t forget this visit. Owner should be made aware of his staff trying to cut out early.

It is a wonderful little spot with a good fresh menu. I like the local ingredients and the fact that everything served is theirs. Comfortable surroundings and a great flight of beers.

Awesome sausage!!! Beer was good but not quite as cold as we hoped. Would be perfect with chilled glasses. Had great service, kid friendly, clean, comfortable place to dine or have a few drinks.

Waitress was very helpful for our party of seven. We enjoyed the evening and had some jovial moments interacting with her. Three of us ordered the braunschweiger meal. The meat was very close to my
mother-in-law's dinner. Excellent.

First time in the Outer Banks and so glad we made the 30 minute drive here for dinner. So glad we did. We went on a Monday and were the only table in the place (maybe Mondays are slow for them?). We opted to eat outside and were so excited to know we would have goat dinner companions! Lucky and Surprise are the cutest things ever. We ate at picnic tables in their front lawn, allowing the kids to interact with the goats before we ate and play on the lawn. Only drawback were the flies. The service was great and the food and beer were great as well. Highly recommend.

Awesome German food! Everything we ordered and took home was fabulous! Their sandwiches, brats, sauerkraut and pate was outstanding! Not to mention their outstanding brews!!! Great time had by all of us. We always take home brats of various kinds and multiple pounds of sauerkraut to enjoy later! Wish we could go more often, truly wonderful!

Sadly this is not the same experience I had when we visited the original site in Manteo. The sauerbraten was not a traditional roast. It was thin slices of roast beef in a sauerbraten sauce. If they had no roast ready, I would've ordered something else had I been told. The beer was good, though.

Outstanding experience. Everyone in the group of 15 was very happy with the food, ambiance, authenticity, farm to table, great beer. And this group is not easy to please. Service was great. Highly recommend this restaurant.
