Webb's Captain's Table Ratings and Reviews
Decided to treat my wife to a good night out and ended up here. The atmosphere was good, family friendly with a dining area separate from the bar scene. Staff was very friendly and attentive refilling water glasses and clearing empty plates from the table. Food was delicious, very well put together and the portion size was great, I like to eat and I ended up taking a to-go box home. Although it is more on the costly end of the spectrum I believe the overall experience is worth it. Absolutely one of the best places we have in this area. Mr. Ben Webb sure knows how to do things with excellence down there. Two thumbs up.
We sat at a table by the window and could see the lake. The service was quick. We both had the scallops and they were very good. They had the restaurant nicely decorated for Fall. It is a little pricey, for two with tip it was a little over $100. We each had an entrée and a glass of wine. We would recommend it and go again if in the area.
Great spot! I grew up on the ocean, and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the lobster tails were. My meal was wonderful. My wife tried the Walleye and was very impressed. The waitstaff was pleasant and nonintrusive. I would go back again any time we are in the area!
Webb's is still my favorite restaurant. My husband and I have been coming here yearly for our anniversary, but I would recommend it for any gathering with family and/or friends. The food is always fantastic. The service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is original in its design, cozy, and right by scenic Chautauqua Lake. I am excited to go back!
I ordered the Lake Erie perch and was disappointed because there was more batter than fish. I ate only a little of the very greasy batter. I was sick with severe intestinal symptoms during the night and the next morning. I called the restaurant to tell them of this ( extremely rare for me) affliction but did not get a reply. I wanted to know if anyone else exhibited these symptoms which I shall report to the health department as my nurse advised me to do.
I have had good dinners (of walleye) at Webbs in the past, but this time was not good.
Food was great, service was great. Here's the BUT:
Major oversight running out of most brands of beer that they sell. Most of the guests in my party settled on a second choice (one after the third try), but I know that many people would be very disappointed to find out the restaurant they're having dinner in ran out of their favorite beer.
Will definitely visit again when I'm in town, however. And hopefully that oversight has been remedied.
I held this restaurant to a higher standard. Boy, was I disappointed. For the money they charge for dinner you'd think everything would be top notch. Apps served with no app plates, salads served with no silverware. Long wait for water refills. Food ok, not stellar for the money. We had a party of 8 on the deck but were not allowed to put tables together. Would not go back nor would I recommend to others.
My husband and I have been coming to Webb's to celebrate our anniversary for a couple of years now. It was a wonderful experience and we felt very taken care of. The staff was second to none and our server so kind and attentive to the fact that we were celebrating a special occasion. We were given a beautiful and delicious dessert (on the house!) and can't recommend this restaurant enough!
The food was way too expensive with little portions. Would never return unless the prices have changed and more portions, plus they messed up my bill and put on root beer when there was no root beer available and now I am waiting for the charge to disappear on my credit card. Took a long time to get everything. Food did not have a lot of taste to it and it was my first time there.
We are mostly summer residents at Chautauqua. Webbs was one place that we miss over the winter and we were VERY happy to be back. As usual everything was wonderful, great drinks, excellent food and friendly fantastic service. We have eaten here many times and never a negative experience. Looking forward to the rest of the summer at Webbs.
We were VERY disappointed (and annoyed) to arrive expecting to have made a reservation for their Easter brunch (which we had been to before) only to be told it was not being offered this year. This was not noted when we made our reservation or when we were called by Webb's to confirm our reservation. At 11:30 in the a.m. not even a regular breakfast was being offered so we were faced with the choice of leaving or eating dinner.
had high expectations and it fell dramatically lower than we hoped. To start off the prices for what you get are extremely inflated. My 3 piece shrimp cocktail was your basic medium to large size shrimp, at best (almost $9). To make it worst they were chewy and not fresh at all. We also ordered coconut shrimp which my wife did enjoy the dipping sauce but the shrimp were extremely over fried, causing them to be dry and disintegrate as you bit into them. My wife's seafood julienne was a greasy mess of mushrooms/bread crumbs/and oil mixed together... the seafood in the center was basic fried shrimp that seemed to be out of a freezer bag. The scallops however were delicious as well cooked. My seafood platter was a joke. At around $40 for a piece of fish around 4in long, a lobster tail that was cold, a medley of fried shrimp that didn't even taste fully cooked, and a stuffed crab shell that had little taste... It was an epic failure. The service matched the food. Our waiter came to check on us a total of ONE time, at which we had to ask for dinner rolls since he forgot to give us some. It then took 10min to get those rolls.
All said and done we spent over $140 and would have had a better meal spending $20 and stopping at burger king. We will NEVER be returning there again
We went to Webb's for dinner on Valentine's Day and as usual we were not disappointed. Food and service was exceptional, they had a keyboard player performing dinner music and they gave us chocolate covered strawberries and a red carnation at the end of the night.
