An exceptional kaiseki meal rooted in true Japanese tradition with a refined modern twist. Chef Hiro-san, trained in Japan, delivers intricate, beautiful dishes that honor the essence of kaiseki—seasonal, balanced, and deeply thoughtful. The sake pairing was spot-on, and the service reflected real omotenashi. Watching him cook and serve in front of us was a privilege. The monthly-changing menu offers variety and plenty of food (I often times can't even finish dessert!). This is not a “wannabe” kaiseki spot—this is the real deal. Highly recommended.

Unassuming neighborhood and building with simple, elegant interior dining space. I imagine all of this is meant to highlight the excellence of the food, staff and overall experience. This is the perfect place for a special event or just to enjoy an exceptional experience.

Great experience but we were unclear about a 20% service charge being included. My dad treated us to this meal and he asked the waiter if he preferred cash for the tip and instead of clarifying that there was a 20% service charge, he just told him that was fine. So we paid 40% tip on top of an already very expensive meal.

Third time eating at Wa’z and it remains the best restaurant we’ve been to in Seattle. It’s an adventure for the palate. We will be back! Staff are great, respectful, attentive and knowledgeable. Food is incredible, so fresh and creative. Thankyou for an another memorable experience.

Everything was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The textures, mix of sweet, salty, spice, and aromatic flavors sent my senses to another world. Pair you meal with the sake tasting and it's an absolutely incredible experience! 10/10 will go back!

We had a lovely, tailored experience for our evening. The food was wonderful, and we did the full sake pairing (a new sake for each course), and it was well worth it. Our waiter was very informative, and passionate about what they were doing, and we would definitely go back.

Amazing food and meticulous service. This was a truly special experience and every mouthful was spectacularly curated for taste and texture and subtle drama. We were celebrating a birthday and there was just the right amount of extra fuss. Also, one of the best prepared meals with celiac-related invisible substitutions I have ever had. We will be going back!

had an amazing dinner at wa’z tonight! overall the money is worth it, each of the nine courses was prepared perfectly, most of them right in front of us. each dish was so thoughtful and you can tell each is imbued with passion and care. tasty flavor profiles and amazing presentation. once we can afford it again, we’ll be back for sure!
