The server was excellent and should be considered for promotion
was lovely. great branzino and wonderful oysters
Server did not know menu. Pasta was dry because it came out way ahead of steak entree. Hard to believe that this restaurant is associated with Alden and Harlow.
Over all very well prepared dishes, crudos were excellent, fresh beautifully served ,my main dish was octopus in which I was little disappointed because it was over spiced ( tenderness was perfect) , my friend main was branzino and I could taste the “ fish” that was so well prepared.I must say we were satisfied.
Delicious as always!!
In town to celebrate some family milestones and though our visit started out rough (nearly 30 min wait w an angry mob, despite reservation), it quickly became one of the highlights of our weekend.
diamond & front of house staff were pleasant and professional in explaining the delays (due to other diners rudely lingering well after their bills had been paid) & once we were seated at a great high top in the kitchen area, the evening quickly was elevated to the expected level. Tigue brought us drinks and menus immediately, Jordan our server buzzed thru the restaurant amd to/around our table w impressive ease and finesse. All of the crude were outstanding, food and beverage recommendations were spot-on amd the main courses were beautifully plated and seasoned well.
We lingered over dinner, enjoyed visits from staff inquiring as to how things were going/what we might need and felt welcomed throughout and up to our departure.
We will be back & trust that the front end challenges that caused our delay to be seated are already being addressed by management.
Excellent Food, drink and table service - waiter steered me away from my order to something better, which is rare and was appreciated. We also like the atmosphere and vibe here. Only complaint was the seating process. Despite a confirmed reservation, and arriving a few minutes early, we were seated 20 minutes after our reserved time, and only after I made a minor stink. Not sure how long we'd have waited if I hadn't done so. We spent that time outside literally cooling our heels, given the below freezing temps that night. Given what they say is a strict 90 min table limit you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to seat reserved guests on time -- unless they're overbooking to hedge their bets. Great place, but dress for the weather in case you're stuck outside like we were.
Very disappointed. We love Alden and Harlow and this was just not comparable. Food was nothing but salt and the service was sub par.
The food was delicious and the wait staff and everyone else we interacted with were gracious, friendly and helpful. This was our first night out in a restaurant in over a year and the dinner lived up to our expectations for such a momentous occasion in every way.
Very good from the cocktail to the dessert.
All the meals are refined and very tasty. Crudos are really fresh and excellent. Lobster is really nice as well
2nd time we came and not the last on for sure
Always a good meal. Consistently one of the top spots in the city. The wait was a bit long (booked 8:30 and sat at 9:00) but the quality of food was worth it. Will be back for sure.
Waypoint was really good! It was our first time there and we would definitely go back! Can't wait to try more!
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Waypoint in Cambridge.
Second time at Waypoint and love it! Great food, great atmosphere- highly recommend for date night or special occasion.
Love the clam pizza. Oyster special was delicious. Always like to try new cocktails and was not disappointed - cross of jade is my new favorite.
The food was excellent but three of us was served and it was towards the middle os us eating before the waiter asked about the 4th meal.
Really great customer service! They had been a little late seating us to our table and bought our drinks for the night to make up for it. The food and atmosphere was so electric, I definitely recommend this place!
The tuna crudo was the absolute best crudo I've ever had. The steak frites was inedible.
The staff here is always welcoming and the food is so delicious. We came for our date night and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they had a lovely neighborhood experience of half a carafe of wine and two pizzas for 30$. What a deal. We ended up with the white clam pizza and their local favorite pepperoni and they were amazing!! Of course we had to get some of the other delicious items on their menu and at the end of the meal, the sent over their home made dessert just to say thank you for coming out tonight. I love this place. They are always on point with their food, service was excellent and the chef and his team do an amazing job!
Waypoint was TERRIBLE. It was crowded, the drinks for horrible, they did not take the appropriate Covid measures, there was a huge crowd waiting to check and not socially distant. The service was horrible we had to ask for forks, knives and plates each time we ordered something. It was an awful and expensive disaster. Much different than the previous times I’ve eaten there.
Service was really slow/shoddy, music was pretty loud the entire night (but would fluctuate by song so hard to pin down), my meal came out close to 15 min after my girlfriends did, and the rest of the food was pretty so so for the price point. If you’re gonna go out and risk getting sick, would suggest avoiding waypoint.
Another great night at waypoint. We were seated in a booth by a giant window that we opened to allow in fresh air. The 1$ oysters were fresh, high quality, and a great deal. The waitress was so friendly and patient. We grew a bit indecisive after 2 drinks about a third drink and what to order. The waitress continued to check on us and offered advice until we were ready to order. We ended up with 2 pizzas and more sparkling wine. We all loved the pizzas and the sparkling wine was delicious. Prices are a little high for everyday but we all enjoyed our indulgent treat. Can’t wait to go back.
The Food was excellent. Wine selection was great. Noise level was too excessive. Especially with Covid and masking it was impossible to hear our server. The specials needed to be on menu. Along with oyster selection and description. The food was prepared amazingly and tasted incredible. Would definitely go back.
Wonderful! Great server, and additional staff were attentive and funny. Banging hits from the late 90s and early 2000s. Great oysters and crudo.
We made use of the Tuesday night special of 2 pizzas and a carafe of wine for $30.00. The pepperoni pizza was great. The Brussels sprouts pizza was overwhelmed with garlic and the Brussels sprouts were microscopic. The manager noticed I wasn’t eating the pizza and whisked it away and brought another with less garlic at no charge. I wouldn’t order that particular one again but the crusts were great and the pizzas were generous. We had a dozen oysters at $1 per oyster and they were wonderful. The house made hot sauce was fabulous. The house wine was also very good. We would definitely return.
food was delicious but portion sizes were very small
Was good not great. The service was pretty ehh. $14 for basically half a glass of wine. And the music in the restaurant was so quiet that I felt like we were dining alone at home. The ambiance was pretty poor. Plus the restaurant is huge and was essentially empty and they sat someone in the both next to mine so he was back to back with me which felt very unsafe in the middle of the pandemic.
We had a lovely dinner at Waypoint. My only disappointment was that you didn't have any Merlot wine. Otherwise I had a wonderful time.
Horrible dining experience. The server should learn dining etiquette and mannerism
Very busy because of Valentine's Day, so hard to be fair there. Starters were great but many main dishes lacked flavor. The Uni Bucatini only tasted like cream sauce, pizzas had good flavor but still were doughy. Cocktails were great
I usually love Waypoint and have dined here multiple times, however, the Sunday night Valentine's Dinner service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our first drink, they did not have multiple items on the drink menu and regular menu, and the waiters were understaffed. The dish I ordered was not great at all, but they did take it off the menu for us. I'm hoping it was just terrible because they usually aren't open on Sundays.
The food was really good and the service was great. However, we've waited for almost one hour between the appetizer and the entrees. Then we've waited 30 minutes to get the check. I can see that the waiters were trying their best which I don't blame them but I do want to say that the waiting time for the food and check can be a bit annoying. (we started at 5:30 and ended at 7:30 with 2 entrees and 2 sharables)
I have been to WayPoint a few times before and have always been delighted by the service, ambiance and food. This time the service was very disappointing. But I assume this is a one-off experience.
Wonderful food and service as usual. Lots of effort put into Covid safety. Will go back and continue to support this superb restaurant.
Dinner was great, service struggled.
Waypoint has been consistently great ever since they opened. Staff are always gracious and provide excellent service. There is a limited menu due to Covid but still plenty of variety. We started with oysters which were clean, plump and cold. Expertly shucked and served with all the accouterments. Btw the cocktails were stiff and delicious. We also had the smoked shrimp a couple different crudo dishes and the great fries. All were spot in and we were not rushed. We moved onto several different pasta dishes the lobster cace Pepe was fabulous with really nice bucatini pasta. The crab with angel hair was the other end of the pasta spectrum delicate and light a great contrast . One of our party had the lobster tail over black rice and devoured it. We finished with the only dessert which was comfortable and a nice ending to a great evening; homemade donuts with chocolate ganache.
I want to thank the staff and chefs for continuing to provide a great dining option greatly appreciated
Really good oysters and food. It was just cold in the restaurant that I needed to put my jacket on. Other than that, our server was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this place and return.
Loved the ambiance and atmosphere. Waypoint will be recommended to foodies in my circle.
Great place. Service always good, food always really good, and menu is awesome. Too bad with Covid it is not busy but I am sure it will be back to busy before calendar year end 2021.
