The place looks and feels great but was very busy for the staff to acknowledge any needs. They only have a few wines and most weren't available. I settled for the one given and requested a cocktail since I was so eager to try this place, I wanted to give everything a chance. The server recommended one and I could go pasts the first sip. It tasted like cough drops. We also ordered oysters which were delicious but the steak was rubbery and almost needed a steak knife for my lobster. I would maybe go back on a more casual occasion to try the raw menu.

We ate at Waypoint this week and found the service outstanding and the food very tasty. There were three in our party and we ordered food that we could share- which was encouraged by wait staff.

The roast half chicken and bowl of brussels sprouts were very good and could be shared easily. However, the wood fired octopus was just ONE small tentacle and the salmon was pretty small- maybe 4 fork bites- hardly share worthy.

As the wait staff made clear, the food, unlike other restaurants, does not come out at the same time - The spouts came out first and the chicken arrived at least 15 minutes- interesting idea if you have lots of time to dine. (possibly they are trying to copy European dining which can last hours.)

So, overall we had a good experience but the place is a bit pricey, particularly for ONE tentacle and small bite sized salmon.

This place is very special. Food is amazing as is atmosphere. I realize that all places are short staffed now but 20 minutes to get a cocktail after we ordered and it came after our Salads arrived is frustrating. Otherwise definitely recommend highly.

Another wonderful, prolonged early dinner at Waypoint. Oysters on special, smelts, clam pizza, salmon, a really good steak, expertly made cocktails, and a great wine list made for an excellent afternoon. Delicious robiola and truffle ravioli needed half a minute more cooking and the crab pasta needed a bit more crab, but that's nit-picking. Max tended bar and educated me to new absinthes. Noise level was a little high at the bar, but I'm older and a little hard of hearing -- probably wouldn't bother the average diner. We'll return often. An underappreciated jewel of a restaurant functioning at a very high level both in food and in service.

Touted s a seafood restaurant, we expected a substantial number of choices of FISH. We were sorely disappointed, so much so that we would wound up ordering pizzas. (You'll never make it asa a pizzeria!)

The problem with the evening occurred when our servers forgot about us and we had to forgo our drink/dessert orders and ask other employees for the check. I understand that COVID-19 has impacted the service industry by removing seasoned professionals. However, it's not a high bar to just check on patrons.

The menu features some imaginatively prepared food that we greatly enjoyed. The roasted striped bass on the cucumber panzanella was unbelievably delicious. The cacio e pepe with lobster was amazing.

My main concern was the wine list. The markup on these wines was very high. What's going on with this? A bottle of 25 or 30 dollar wine at retail, cost 125 to 150. It makes dining here a very expensive proposition. There ought to be several wines priced accessibly. We had the Greek xinomavro which went beautifully with the food, was a good wine, ample acid and lowish alcohol at a price of $45. More of these should be possible knowing that there is so much good wine out there that doesn't cost your mortgage.

Service was fantastic, drinks were great. Food was very good, but the only reason I’m writing this is because the pizzas have never been to the quality level they were at pre-COVID. The clam pizza, especially, has far less topping and the crust bottom is never crisp enough — but we used to love it so much that we keep trying.

We started with the oysters and would highly recommend. The drinks were good (although small pours on a glass of wine), the bartender was friendly and helpful answering questions (but again, small pours on the wine). I ordered the Johan Crab & Angel hair pasta and there was only one piece of crab in it... I would not recommend this one to anyone, it wasn't elevated and honestly something you could have made at home. My partner ordered the steak frites. The filet was good, not amazing, the fries though! The fries were great! Overall, if we went back, we would get the oysters, fries and a drink and skip everything else.

outdoor street side was fun, very open to passerbys.
"family style" arrival of food fine by us.
The bar makes particularly good drinks; better "value" than food cost, although both high quality.

The food was great - the lobster cacio e pepe is fantastic, and although it can be shared, I wanted it all to myself. The service was poor, which can probably be chalked up to the pandemic labor shortage. We told our server we wanted to order wine with our meal, but then she didn't come until we had finished our meal. A glass of wine never showed up and the quirky wine list didn't have any matches to our white wine drinkers' tastes (even if the customers' tastes run to commoditized wines like pinot grigio, it would be nice to have an offering that answers those tastes even if it's not an actual pinot grigio). And even though the host knew we were celebrating a birthday, the server dropped the ball on that (despite a gift bag on the table).

Very nice restaurant, enjoyed the food. They were accommodating to move us inside when we asked because it was cold. We ordered the zucchini knots thinking it would be our vegetable side but it was actually like garlic pizza bread knots with just a tiny bit of zucchini- clarifying the description would be helpful. Also, the servers were not wearing masks which made me somewhat uncomfortable. The whitefish pizza was alright, the house salad was very large, tasty and a great deal, and the mussels pasta was very tasty though a small portion. Overall would recommend.

Best french fries in Boston. crab caesar salad expensive but worth it. Noise low enough for OK conversation. Great front of house staff and operation.
