Good spot for a leisurely lunch, servers did a great job balancing the volume of customers and paying attention to the needs. prices are reasonable, food is good. Overall good value
People working there were not all wearing masks.
Food was great quality and menu had something for everyone. Live band was excellent.
Waxy's was not a mitigated disaster but there are some real issues. Let's start with the PROS. PROS: The vibe was fun (a bit loud but fun), band was good, beers were cold, server was friendly. The hummus platter was decent with fresh veggies and warmed pita. Unfortunately, it goes way downhill afterward.
CONS: We waited with menus at the table for over 10 minutes without anyone coming to the table for a drink order. Server was friendly but seemed overwhelmed. Drinks were ordered and it was a bit of a wait, nothing terrible. We ordered the poutine app and the hummus platter. Those came out quickly. Hummus platter was decent. Poutine, however, was awful. French fries were soggy with congealed cheese and gravy. Tasted flat and greasy. Dinner came out shortly after. Diner 1 had the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was dried out, overcooked chicken. Sauce was okay. He didn't finish it. Diner 2 had beef stew. This was more like beef soup with only 3 or 4 tiny pieces of beef. He, too, did not finish it. Said flavor was decent but not like a stew and too cheap with the beef. Diner 3 had the pear salad with blue cheese. Said the blue cheese was bad, tasted weird. Some of the pieces of blue cheese had fur on them. She also did not finish her meal. I had the BBQ ribs. They were supposed to be marinated in Guiness and then topped with BBQ sauce. One end of the rack of ribs was okay, but the other end was burnt to a crisp. The BBQ sauce had a weird twang that I did not like. I ate 2 ribs. I subbed out the french fries for mashed potatoes. The quantity was generous but were tasteless. I put salt on them twice and still were tasteless. Overall, this was a very disappointing outing. This was my first time at Waxy's and I have absolutely no need to go back.
Overall a great Irish Pub atmosphere. Then band was excellent. Waitress was pleasant but didn’t seem plugged in to our group. Food was good but we didn’t have everything brought out together a d some had to wait extended times to get all their food. The prices were reasonable. I’d definitely go back
Nice setting. One person in our party was not satisfied with her appetizer or main dish. Our server/bartender Tim was wonderful. Very attentive and made us feel welcome.
Disappointed as we had anticipated an Irish type pub as we are used to in other areas.
When I asked for a Shandy (a staple in a real Irish pub) and I was told that "beer" was no longer on the menu, I should have known. The food was OK. The music was very Irish pub like and then turned into pop.
Not what we had hoped for.
Like many restaurants, finding help appears to be a problem, so the greeting at the door and table service was slower than I have experienced in the past.
The restaurant was half empty. It took 40 minutes to get an appetizer. After the restaurant filled in food came out quick. After ordering something i didn't want because, i was told it could take up to an hour.
The appetizer was not flash fried but deep fried and overcooked. The Main course was cold and burnt.
That would be a good place for bar rehab to do a show. The Manager needs something thrown in their face to wake up.
Our entrees were tasty, and our service was exceptional. It was a good experience, watching football there on a Sunday afternoon.
Although I identified this as a birthday they never recognized it
Went with friends midweek for a leisurely lunch. Ordered from the luncheon menu, food was fantastic, portions were large. The staff was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was perfect.
Business was closed. Why did it take a res? I made the res the same day. No signs on door either. Very strange.
It was good to see a varied menu, FUN music (Rock City Band), good service
All 3 orders were awesome. Dessert great. Really cozy place we feel lucky to have found :)
Tom and Matt at the bar were great
Perfect place for the whole family!
*PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE REVIEWS LIKE I DID!!!*
I’m a server, I get the industry. I never EVER make any sort of deal at places but I definitely had to review this. I’m an easy going person and I genuinely was soooo disappointed. And it’s just a small tavern I had expectations low, but SHEESH
The whole thing about them never having ANYTHING is so real. I tried to order three things and they had none of it... and it was completely dead?? I’m not sure what they actually have on their menu based on this.
When I finally got something that they had in stock they managed to mess it up still (it was a salad and all I said was no goat cheese)
I ended up sending it back like at that point I ordered something I didn’t even want, it still came out wrong, and I just didn’t eat.
My friends who ate said food was kinda bland.
Also, they even dropped off a drink my friend didn’t order, so they were also messing up food and beverage. I feel like every time they brought something over there was an issue it made no sense.
I thought it was weird a manager never even acknowledged us at all after, every restaurant I worked at of a guest complained someone would go to the table and just at least talk to them.
Server was good, I just feel bad because I know it’s not their fault they work for a place that seems to be struggling to function. Now i see why they never opened the assembly location.
Loved the band
We had a new waitress that was new and she was very good
Mother’s Day brunch
Just an average place
Drinks and appetizers (onion rings and pretzel) raised our hopes but entrees were awful, when they finally got the order correct. They were out of fish, tacos, tofu etc. for lunch.
We sat outside and it was set up so nicely but you need heaters.
Quick and friendly service and didn’t feel rushed.
It was just horrible. Food didn't come out right.
The server was so nice but just doesn't belong in the business.
Not sure why reservations were accepted. Restaurant was closed
The problem is we made a reservation and drove all the way there and it was closed. How can you make a reservation and it nit be open?

It was ok overall. The bar didn’t have all items to make a drink for one of us. The service was probably the best of any other category. Food wasn’t great. My burger was over cooked, med rare was definitely med well. A little disappointed. Band was great, lots of fun
Outstanding food and service under existing COVID restrictions. Beautiful facility.
The food was mediocre and the mixed drinks just terrible. But we had a lovely waitress and a good time.
This place is very safe and a great place to take kids!! We sat outside in very comfortable outdoor seating. The food was good and the service was outstanding.
With a reservation, I had to wait 15 minutes for anyone to seat us outside, with plenty of tables available.
The Corned Beef was very dry, and the restaurant did not have any spicy mustard !
The Falafel sandwich arrived without the yogurt dressing, the restaurant substituted sour cream instead.
Very disappointed, it seemed like they were ready to close up shop.
Felt great to go out and enjoy live music and good food!
oh, where do I start. Went Tuesday for their advertised Fish and chip special, which is only on Tuesdays from 6-9pm.. Got there at 6:03 and was told that they were out of fish..lol..
when questioned as to why they had no fish, 3 minutes into the special, the server was evasive and gave a phony story that the sold out during the day.. when we reminded him the fish special only began 5 minutes ago, he could not respond.
So we regrouped and ordered a pastromi sandwich and a ruben sandwich.. The ruben was very good, the fries were dry and hard, obviously not freshly cooked! The pastromi was some kind of black meat, sliced thick and hard, whatever it was, it was not pastromi, and not fresh. it looked like dried up , old , roast beef.. We sent it back. waiter agreed after looking at it, that it was inedible.. ordered another ruben instead and it was ok, but same issue with french fries!
This location needs some better management for sure!
We had a party of four sitting outside at Waxy's on Friday night with plenty of social distancing. The Irish band Boston's Erin Og was playing and they were excellent. 2 of us had the nachos and 2 had the Boiled Dinner. The corned beef was cooked to perfection and went well with the potato's, cabbage and spicy mustard.
Although we were the only party there the service and food quality was terrific!! Will return!!
Terrible food. Way too loud when they have a live band unless the place is packed with customers. Place is usually dead and closes too early.
Sad there were so few people at the restaurant. Crispy chicken wings awesome. Shepherds pie disappointing especially considering it’s an Irish Pub. The potato layer far outweighed the meat and veggie layer.
Me and my gal and a buddy wanted to hear some live music and she had LaMarsh Was playing acoustically while singing and it was great
