Terrible would not go again. Food served cold or raw.
Booked outside table through open table for our visit from FL. When I arrived I was first informed there was a thirty minute wait for outside tables and that they don’t accept outside reservations though open table. They acknowledged that they don’t tell anyone that Open Table doesn’t let you reserve outside tables but “sorry”. Bad business. By the way, half of the outside tables were open. Frustrating to say the least. Poorly run restaurant. Go somewhere else.
Lovely dinner on a summer night. We opted to eat indoors by a row of open windows rather than outdoors in the sun (the angle of the setting sun made the umbrellas useless at that hour). The food was great, if somewhat expensive. Great people watching. Will enthusiastically eat here again.
Beautiful view of the Port Jefferson harbor with wonderful food and great service.
Staff was excellent, but food was a disappointment. Overall, pretty flavorless, both the appetizer and entree. The calamari is apparently “famous”, but was not good. Overly rubbery and flavorless.
My food was not cooked, the waiter made me wail for a manager to take it back. My guests were finished eating by the time they took my plate away. I feel they shouldn’t have charged me since they weren’t very accommodating
Little warm , maybe they were having problems with ac
Great food, great service. Nothing else to say.
Thank you for the excellent review!
Slow service, noisy environment, uncomfortable temperature in the restaurant. Overall will not be returning
Had the lobster roll. Nice and filling. Server was excellent he made some great suggestions. They had a DJ in the lounge, set a nice mood for the dinning room. Kept it upbeat and lively.
Thank you for your excellent review!
The food doesn’t worth the money value, and the service is bad.
When you reserve through OpenTable, know that they do not take outdoor reservations. The food was ok, nothing exceptional. Service was spectacular.
Thank you for your review!
Danfords is a nautical restaurant/bar located on the water. The food is good, not great. The service is unprofessional. Bread was a long time coming. Used dishes were not cleared away.
Sorry to hear about your experience. If you would like to talk about it, please call me at 631-928-5200 ext 112 and I would like to discuss how we can make this experience much better.- Clayton Goroway Director of Outlets.
Checked in but wound up staying at the bar. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Great personalities and genuinely happy to be there. Food was great- try the street corn shrimp, nice selection of cocktails and spirits. Dessert was excellent-the cafe gelato was heavenly.
Thank you for your excellent review!
Restaurant was very busy but the staff was very accommodating and the food was top notch. The manager even came and checked on our table a few times, greatly appreciated. I look forward to dinning again and trying more of the menu. The view was top notch. A gem of a location.
Thank you for the excellent review! Hope to see you again soon!
Danford’s location is beautiful. The restaurant is gorgeous and very inviting. We were seated right away. The food was meh... it wasn’t bad but was not great. The portions were not spectacular and the presentation was similar to what you would get at a conference banquet. The stuffed fluke was accompanied by a half cup of white rice thrown on a plate next to an even smaller serving of mass produced vegetables. The worst part about our whole experience was that we were not served our food until 1 hour and 50 minutes after we were seated. Our poor waitress was beside herself, apologizing about the backlog in the kitchen. I asked about a basket of bread or something and was told that was only done with dinner, I guess not for our $180 lunch (pre-tip) which included 4 entrees, 1 kids meal, 2 apps and no alcohol. But we did get beautiful photos.
We were told there was a power outage. The food came out in stages. 5 people. 2 got served. Then 2 minutes later, 1 more got served, then 20 minutes later, 2 more got served. Drinks were delayed. Wait staff was overwhelmed by kitchen mistakes.
Very sorry for your experience. Please contact me @ 631-928-5200 ext 112 so we can discuss how we can rectify this situation.
Excellent service delicious drinks
Thank you for your great review!
Service was poor. Waited hour and a half for our meal. They claimed kitchen was backed up. But table next to us that sat down much later got their food way before us. Waiter didn’t even keep the water glasses filled, had to ask repeatedly. All this on a Wednesday that was only moderately busy.
Birthday and Father’s Day. Very slow service. Some tables got up and left. We stayed and food was great.
Thank you for your review!
The food was excellent, the restaurant is very nice and right on the water.
Thank you for your great review!
As a frequent customer of the Wave we were very disappointed with the food. Two dishes were cold and had to be sent back.
All was very nice but the drinks were small for the price.
We had a table inside, the windows were open so we enjoyed the band. We had the breeze, the air conditioning and fans so it was comfortable. The food was good. It had a great vibe and service was outstanding. The only downfall were the fries that came with the fish and chips. We were expecting fresh cut steak fries or homemade chips, instead we definitely got thin cut frozen fries. They tasted ok, but for the price and the reputation of the restaurant, it would have made the dish so much better. Other than that, it a great experience.
Wonderful location and wait staff, entrees just OK, management showed the reservation as no-show, despite checking-in exactly to the minute on-time.
Did not honor our 12 pm reservation and never called to notify us that they decided to have some construction work done thereby closing the kitchen until 1:30 PM. Need I say more?
At the very least a call would be expected, and better making arrangements with a nearby restaurant to absorb their disappointed diners. Never again.
Very sorry for your experience. We actually had no power that day due to a transformer exploding in the village. We tried to call everyone as soon as we could. I hope you can understand it was beyond our control and we hope you are able to give us another chance.
Great view, food was just okay. Chips on the tuna poke were stale. Rice on the chicken kebab was hard and the drinks weren’t what they said they were. The Georgia peach had no peach ring and presentation wasn’t what we expected. The band outside was terrible, worse then karaoke.
Expected more from them
Great food, great service. Dined indoors but felt like it was outside with open windows to a great view
Great place and view great will definitely revisit
One word: AWEFUL
Went for Restaurant Week. Seated by a window with a view. Limited menu. Appetizers were good with clams, shrimp, and a salad. Fish and chips were the best bet for entree. Overall an ok lunch in a nice setting.
The food was great. The place is right on the water and was very nice. Although the docks are not open yet to outside dining, it was very nice inside.
I got a card from the staff for my birthday that was really sweet. The service was great and the food delicious. Happy to see such attention to detail and the customer
My experience was wonderful and service was great. My only feedback is for the chef - my salmon burger was heavily breaded, I didn’t quite taste much of the salmon. I’m hoping this is not usual. I will certainly return for al fresco dining in the summer.
Everything was delicious! Can’t wait to go back!!
We were seated right away. Service was very good. Always available to provide you with anything you needed before and during dinner. I do have one suggestion. Knowing we are still confronted by the COVID19 virus, it might make sense to put wrapped squares of butter on the table with the bread. We pasted both the bread and the cup of butter around the table thus allowing six people to handle both. Just a suggestion.
Great food and atmosphere in a perfect location! At the dock in Port Jefferson relax with food or drinks.
Each member of the party barely ate any of their appetizers or entrees. The food was terrible.
It was date night for me so i had a nice quiet and intimate setting with a table overlooking the water
