Join Landlord Stuart and Head Chef David for a weekend breakfast, daily lunch or supper at the Wattenden Arms. Built over 150 years ago we are a hidden gem close to the famous Kenley Aerodrome. Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order. We welcome the local & wider community, walkers, cyclists & four legged friends. The bar is open daily from 11am-10.30pm and food times are detailed in our business hours below.

They were changing the menu ,so not a lot of choice. There was no meringues in the Eaton Mess and had to sent it back, but we were compensated for it, the waitress was lovely though .

Sadly up and down, good and bad, never consistent. Such a shame as it's our only local and we so want to 'support local'. Please, please sort it out

There were two main issues we encountered. We ate on a Wednesday Evening when it wasn't exactly busy. There appeared to only be one waitress on duty or at least we only saw one. The first issue was the food service, although the order had been written down there was an issue in the kitchen where others who arrived after us received their main courses well before we did. We had to wait 1 hour for the first meal to be served which was bad enough however the other 5 meals (table of 6) were then delivered gradually with the last meal being delivered 30 minutes after the first meal. In addition we were never even offered desserts or coffees whereas another table which had a birthday on it received all of the attention. The second issue was the food itself which varied in both quality and quantity. The piri piri chicken kebab was overcooked but the dinner was enormous, whereas the sausage and mash was a small helping for a grown man. The other meals were deemed to be ok but as I said earlier delivered late. All in all we won't be going back to eat there again at least until we hear the overall quality of service and food has improved.

I have eaten here 5 times in the last 7 months and every time the food has been delicious. The staff have been very friendly and it is good value for money.

Dinner before the Sunday night quiz… would recommend both. A simple menu of tasty food with lovely staff and a fun quiz… what’s not to like!

Lovely little pub off the beaten track which has improved so much since the new management took over. Very quiet when we visited for dinner mid-week, and we were nearly caught out by the early kitchen closing time of 2015, our dishes (mussels and steak pie) were freshly prepared and delicious. They keep a good pint too!

The new owners have really made a nice pub and restaurant the outside looks beautiful. All staff are lovely . Service friendly and professional. Food great too . Nice touch for our 'forgotten by my other half ' anniversary. Atmosphere was so lovely too We totally recommend. Thank you
