Always love what this restaurant is known for the mussels! There are so many different types to choose from. Also like that you have the option to add shrimp or calamari to the mussels. Dessert is made on premises and there were specials that were added to the regular dessert menu. Truly enjoyed the Dubai chocolate cake. Always enjoy!

As much as I enjoy this place I feel that it has slipped a little. I ordered a warm cheese appetizer that was suppose to come with figs and cherry tomato’s and when it was served if had two pieces of cheese and two of the smallest figs I have ever seen and two cut up cherry tomato’s for $18 dollars. Very insulting and disappointing. We also ordered two pots of mussels with were very good but sandy and that has been the case the last three times I was there so they are not washing them properly. The beer was stellar as well as the service but if I go back and grind my teeth on any more sand then I’ll be done with this place.

I’ve always been a fan of Waterzooi just hadn’t been there for a while. Scott warmly welcomed us at the door offered different seating options. Water and bread service came fast, bread was good and the butter was freshly made. We split an appetizer special of beet salad which was delicious, then had two separate entrees the Sole Milanese and the Kip, both served with creamy fresh mashed potatoes. Service was on the slow side but was friendly. We split another special for dessert which was chocolate cherry bread pudding with ice cream. Had another lovely encounter with the host Scott on our way out. We will definitely be back and recommend!!

We’ve been to this restaurant many, many times. This time, our appetizers were the usual great. The entrees were all disappointing. The workout I got sawing my steak sandwich likely burned off the calories of the meal. The Waterzoii was tough and upset my stepson’s stomach. The burger was dry. I don’t know what happened to this reliable neighborhood stalwart.

We wanted to really like the place as it has a cool vibe! We ordered beer(great) wine (great) brussel sprouts (mushy seemingly boiled) the monkfish special(risotto excellent but monkfish dry and overcooked—not really qualified as a special) and the lobster roll(I am not sure Montauk would appreciate the reference. It was more like tuna salad) Sticking to mussels probably a better call!

We have been to Waterzooi many times, but not in the past few years. Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined. They are known for their Mussels which had been wonderful. Besides the fact that we have never seen such tiny, tiny mussels ever, the flavor of the sauces were just lacking. Onion soup was ok, not great. Oysters ok. Waitress was nice but forgot to place our soup order so it didn’t come until we asked about it. Always noisy but knew that. Will not be returning.

Loved the food and had very good service. But it’s very loud and the tables are closely spaced. Made conversation difficult but I’d certainly go back on a weeknight when it might be less crowded.
