Birthday celebration with family. Excellent meal, great service
LOVED the food. The Homard (mussels in lobster bisque) was incredible and they made it spicy at my request! Drinks were EXCELLENT and our server was very helpful with menu suggestions/guidance. Will definitely be back to try more!
Great food. Service was not great and the menu isn’t a large selection
Something to experience for sure!
Very lively and a little too noisy with families as well as couples on Valentine's Day!
Good seafood. Large portions.
Somewhat pricey but we did get a 2nd meal from our leftovers.
Amazing food and great service. One of our favorite places.
Amazing food. Packed but very enjoyable.
Wonderful as always and the amount of lobster in the mussel pot was huge!
Valentine’s Day, the food was excellent. Lunch was quieter than dinner. Enjoyed every minute.
was a great dining experience took my elderly aunt there for dinner and staff was very helpful with her........nice menu with specials...waiter very professional and great sense of humor....served me special ice cubes! nice setting for great dining experience
Heard so much about these muscle pots. They were good. Not amazing. In my opinion, they serve with side of fries , doesn’t go with meal. Should be a side of angel hair pasta to pour muscles and their juice over.
We enjoyed our happy hour wines and mussels, as well as our delicious dinner ....all despite being in the middle of renovations! Thank you for staying opened during this time!
It was Fabulous! Definitely recommend it. Very creative food and large portions to boot.
OMG come on a little paint updating...service good food ok a little chewy mussels. water pouring girl not so good too sloppy. extremely loud just install sound panels, come on spend some $$$
As always, the food and beer were great! Not too many places have the Belgium beer selection they do, so I was like a kid in a candy store and loved my Gulden Draak on tap while waiting for our table. As a starter, we had the split pea puree, which was so creamy and smooth and had such an incredible flavor, without overpowering you. For my main, I had the Farmhouse Ale mussels, which were cooked to perfection. The broth it's cooked in is more like a bisque that you want to have as an extra soup! It's great for dipping bread into. The Thai and the Spicy mussels that my wife and daughter had were also amazing. Since the portions are really large, they were not able to finish them. Fortunately, they reheat really well and were great as an appetizer the next night with dinner. It's worth the extra money to get the largest and meatiest mussels anywhere, that are not sandy, crunchy or too fishy smelling. The service was great and our waiter Steve was extremely professional and personable. It was a wonderful experience all the way around.
The best part of dinner was Steve our waiter who, despite the fact that the place was jammed on a Friday night during restaurant week, had such a pleasant personality that we were glad we were there. The worst part was the noise level which was so deafening we couldn't hear each other across the table.
The appetizer and main courses were really good, Lobster Croquette, Moules Pot Montrachet and flounder. The Moules Pot was huge and the flounder was ample. The triple chocolate mousse was good but average. There were so many mussels in the pot that I couldn't reach the broth until I was half way through. Next time I'll ask for some of the broth to be put on the side. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and will return (on a week night - hopefully less noisy).
Our waitress Brooke was great. One of the best waitresses we ever had. Even fine dining expesnive Manhattan restaurants could nor compare to her service. Mussels were excellent. Value was great for restaurant week. Expensive otherwise.
Good food tight quarters
Great service, great menu (slightly eclectic ?), but overall a noisy room.
Thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant week special 3 course price fixe meals. The mussels were abundant and delicious with the fries and mayo, the sheep cheese and truffle honey was mouth watering and the chocolate mousse was the perfect ending. The field greens was a nice start, Kip was tender and juicy with a nice Smokey/bacon flavor and the apple cobbler, hot, flaky and delicious. Great first time experience!
We dined at Waterzooi during Restaurant Week, Jan 2019. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious and the price point could not be beat. The short ribs and herb encrusted filet of sole was superb! We went there for a late lunch/very early dinner. The noise level was very low simply because there were only 4 other diners there, great for us, but not many people are fortunate enough to dine at that hour, most are working. Would definitely recommend.
Mussels are the best.. paired with the best Belgium Beers!
Great dinner. Highly recommend the mussels pot. They have a few different kinds of mussel pots with different sauces.
This is the place to go for mussels, they're very fresh, and the serving size is huge!
Food delicious.our waitress so unfriendly and did some ridiculous things..her name Sky.over charged us .we where 6 not 9 .no apology. Left cash tip of 20%.she ran outside after us accusing us of leaving nothing. She never looked on table.we are in our 60s really would we do that.all uncalled for.again no apology .sad she ruined our experience.
Everything from the service to the food was outstanding. It was a bit noisy but it was dinner hour so to be understood. The mussel pots were excellent as was our appetizers of duck confit salad and mozzarella and tomato with bread. It was a great pre fixed menu for LI Restaurant Week. Would highly recommend Waterzooi to anyone
Really lovely and lively! Place. Great food and service - we had salad, farm house mussels, ribs and chocolate mousse dessert and apple pie ala mode. Red wine and white wine were outstanding.
Group of 6 went for restaurant week. Food was delicious. I asked for my little neck clams to be served right away. Unfortunately it came with my meal. That was upsetting. But overall we enjoyed our night.
This is a good place to dine where the service is professionally attentive, and the food is good.
The hostess was not friendly at all. I had a reservation through open table. She could not locate it and seemed annoyed by this. After I questioned what the problem was given there were so many open tables she said I would not get “ points” through open table. I then showed her my confirmation on my phone and she said she would
Look into it. She never came back to our table. I had to send the pork chop back. It was so overdone I could barley cut through it. Our Waitress was more than kind , she did bring me a different meal. Her good service is it enough to make us return. Not a place I will go to again.
Nice meal with friendly service. We shared an appetizer and a mussel pot and it was more than enough. We treated ourselves to the jelly donut bread pudding which was very special. The only negative was that the waiter was a bit distracted by larger tables.
Staff are not nice and extremely pushy to finish eating and leave, just are looking for tip, place looks old
I'll I need to say is go if you love beer and mussels.
Delicious mussels. Waitress helpful it’s assistance for three yea old. Alvacado toast outstanding.
have been dining at Waterzooi for many years and the food is always wonderful. it feels like there are a few too many tables in the restaurant. it was challenging to get out of our seats and exit the restaurant.
Great food. Always a pleasant experience. Mussels are amazing
Great service, food and atmosphere!
We live this place!!! Always amazing food lunch or dinner!
I can't recommend this restaurant due to the hostile management. Although the food is always good, and the waitress quite friendly, there is absolutely no effort to protect customers from hostile, shrieking guests at an adjacent table.
Imagine enjoying your lunch in a moderately full dining room when an oaf at the corner table engages in "play" with a small child, resulting in 1/2 hour of screaming and carrying on. Dad was delighted his kid was so happy, the rest of the party kept telling him to knock it off. Nearly every other table simply got their check and left. We were eating and asked them to quiet down. Oh, the dangers of trying to speak to the entitled! "I'll get the manager", screamed the angry parents of the provoked little child.
The manager berated us, "we welcome children here" says this obnoxious lady, without taking even 30 seconds to assess the situation! Hey, I like little kids too, and this one was well behaved until he was encouraged to act out by his father. The end result-- angry shouting match and a ruined afternoon.
I cannot forgive insensitive and downright offensive "management" not bothering to even look around the dining room, where every other diner had fled! I can't accept condescending rudeness and an 'attitude' that was totally unacceptable. I didn't choose to sit next to this family, it's not my place to speak to the parents; all the other people at their table repeatedly told dad and his child to quiet down. Yet the "manager" basically told us to take a hike. We immediately left.
So, if you want to visit the bar, enjoy drinks and some mussels in the evening in the company of adults, this place is always a good choice. Sit at a table at your own risk! After today, I'll never do so again.
Great time spent with good friends and Waterzooi was a complement with the best selection of mussels and belgiums galore like we never had before.
excellent food, excellent service, excellent time. As usual it was a great experience. The restaurant is consistently outstanding.
