Great to eat outside in the winter was cosy with the firepits and blankets food was excellent
Good friendly service. Good choice on the menu. Lovely food.
Second time I’ve been to the Waterside in the past three weeks and I’ll be back again soon.
The service was chaotic and slow which tainted our view . The food was good just a shame about the service .
No eye contact on arrival from front of house . Shown our table and served by every member of waiting staff who were rushed and chaotic.
Long waits between courses and drink orders. The table next to us cancelled their drinks order as they had waited to long .
Lovely restaurant and efficient service
Lovely views of the river Ness, friendly, helpful staff and well prepared, very tasty food.
Excellent service and food was fantastic highly recommend
Lovely food, staff friendly and reasonably priced.
Good selection of meals. We were staying in the 5 star hotel down the road and the food was preferred here for the choice.
Beautiful food, beautiful setting and service was great.
Staff were very attentive and food was great. Overall a very enjoyable experience
It was really good atmosphere, view and food, and because it was our anniversary, they gave us a free cake. I will recommend it 👍
Delicious meal with great service, thanks. The Waterside is a lovely restaurant and we will be visiting again.
My wife and I were very delighted with everything and will return again if we are in town
The food was very good apart from the chocolate brownie which was either stale or overcooked.
Looked forward to the2 steaks bottle wine £38 for 2.Took me 3 knives then told waiter couldn’t even chew the steak. However I did get another but husband already finished. As for the accompaniments 2 lettuce leaves is not what I call a salad. We decided in a staycation to support Scotland but when you see what Turkey can offer on meals theirs a lot to learn here food industry.
Excellent venue, varied menu reasonably priced. Staff professional and attentive. Food excellent, good portions and piping hot as were the plates. Most certainly book there again if back in Inverness
Was a lovely meal under current circumstances. Staff lovely and friendly and food was amazing. Only comment would be £9 for cheese selection was very expensive when there was 3 different small pieces of cheese.
Excellent location right next to the river ness with good quality food and excellent service. Would highly recommend and if we are back in Inverness would defined return.
We were able to book a reservation at the last minute which was great. The staff got us seated in a good spot that had space for our toddler’s pram. Great food and very nice staff.
Booked this as a little away from the city to try somewhere new on our visit to inverness. Staff very friendly and helpful. I chose the beef rib and my partner chose the pork belly. Both incredible and so tasty. Good value for money. Would definitley recommend this restaurant.
One of the best steaks I've ever eaten. We were a party of 8, who all thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Great atmosphere and friendly server. Covid regs were adhered to well and didn't affect experience. Would definitely recommend and would eat here again.
Nice lunch was spoilt by a group of staff gossiping very unkindly about one of their workmates well within ear shot of our table. Language wasn't too polite from one of the waiters either. Poor show and won't be returning.
Food was nice nothing to make it amazing portion sizes small, service was average if not a little slow.
Pudding was very very small portion and for £7.50 would have expected a lot more.
Overall pleasant experience.
We really enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant. Food was tasty, service was great and it was a nice experience overall. Thanks
The food was okay, the service was slow but in their defence the restaurant was very busy. I did not like the way the cutlery was presented which was in a basket with the condiments in paper sachets at the bottom. There was more cutlery than needed and I wonder if each basket and cutlery is cleaned after each serving.
Beautiful food and very good value for money
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. The service was excellent too. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
We booked into the Hotel quite late in the day and were pleased to book a table at the restaurant a very short walk away from our room at short notice. We were not dissapointed with the quality of the food or service. Excellent!
No further comment but as we've used the Glen Mhor many times we will definitely be back
We were very disappointed with our meal. I ordered a Salmon and my husband ordered the steak. The steak and chips is one of the most expensive meals on their menu. My husband was given a plate half full with bog standard pub chips and a small steak, which looked and tasted like a supermarket bought piece of meat.
When I asked the young waiter if it shouldn't come with a green salad he said "no". I then saw a waitress bring 2 steak and chips for our neighbouring table, with salad and nice presentation on the plate. After asking a second time about the salad we were given a few leaves in a side bowl.
For £25 we were thoroughly disappointed. We recognise price increases and other problems due to the virus situation BUT we expected a well presented plate to show food worth its price we were paying. The salmon was well presented on the plate and put next to my husbands dinner they looked world's apart. No effort had been put into my husbands plate at all.
Also, we did not notice menus being wiped down between customers.
I would not recommend the Waterside Restaurant to a friend at present because I felt that in the current situation with Covid-19 it wasn't safe. Lots of people were coming in and out of the restaurant area without wearing masks, very few were using hand sanitiser and the staff we not doing anything to help remind people of their responsibility to keep safe. Some of this was down to lack of adequate signage by the restaurant and much could and should be done by the hotel management to improve Covid-19 safety.
The food was good, and great value for money, we had a lovely couple of hours there
The service was slow. We asked for a wine list when our main meal arrived. The wine list never came. One of the meals in our group was sent back. We weren’t asked by staff how our meal was at the end.
The food was mediocre with a high price tag. It’s been a one off visit to the venue so maybe we just didn’t the best experience.
The meal was overpriced for what was served,
Presentation was lacking especially with the Salmon
I started with Soup and although There was a knife no butter was supplied
I know your premises were busy for the standard I expected it was not good
I do eat out often and I am the first to commend good service and food
Food unfortunately wasn't the best. Very very noisey.
We had such a bad experience, food was really poor, steak over cooked, we got the wrong bill 3 times and the people generally didn’t seem to have a clue what was going on in the place. Wouldn’t go back.
Nice food but since the ownership changed there is limited Gluten Free options, which was disappointing, food was lovely but limited choices for a coeliac.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Inverness. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially during this trying time.
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
Too many people in the restaurant, seated close together in this present climate. Food was ok, I have food intolerances which I brought up and asked if the Waitress would check with chef if my food choices were ok. Got served what I ordered so presumed all ok, it was not. Not much service we sat with empty glasses and plates for over an hour, no one checked on on us.
Shambolic, the management clearly haven't got to grips with the reality of operating under Covid restrictions. No table service, which I suppose would be fine if it was clear where you did actually have to order. On the way in we saw a sign that said 'please wait here to be seated' we waited, nobody came, and we eventually realized that staff just hadn't bothered to remove the sign in between 'normal' and Covid ways of working. Severe dearth of menu's available, only the static menu board out front, then normal menu cards at the bar (where orders were being taken). This resulted in ridiculously long waits despite the low number of customers as families could only look at the options and decide what they wanted when they actually reached the till. My wife and I thought we were more organised, having taken photos of the outside menu, only to be told our choices were not on the menu we were allowed to use at that time - there were 3 menu's displayed, and it was not at all clear that only one of them was available for lunch. The woman behind the counter treated me like an idiot for not instinctively knowing which menu I was allowed to use, I double checked on the way out and confirmed that at no point was it mentioned that only the one menu was available. We didn't actually eat here because of the tiny choice on the menu and rude staff, we went across the road and would highly recommend a steak and seafood restaurant called Prime.
