Waters Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Waters may very well be the finest restaurant in Fort Worth. You would expect a restaurant called "Waters" to have great seafood--and it does. But it also has outstanding steaks, a ridiculously good burger at lunch, phenomenal sides and appetizers, and five-star service. The wine list has some very rare and well-priced selections, as well as reasonable prices on "regular" nice bottles.
Everything was wonderful! We dined at Waters New Year’s Eve prior to going to Bass Hall. Our waitress Nikki after introducing herself immediately inquired about our schedule. She was lovely! John Bonnell, The owner visited with us at our table as well as several other tables. He Is delightful!
Delicious food and great service. But the back dining room is too crowded. And, sitting by the windows in the bench seating offers no privacy. Could barely have a conversation since all I could hear were the people next to us! Would go again but be sure to request different seats.
We had our Christmas Eve lunch at Waters. The restaurant itself is beautiful with numerous sitting options. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to discuss and answer any questions you have regarding the menu. We were unable to be with our real families this Christmas but the staff at Waters made us feel at home.
If you want the absolute best raw oysters in the metroplex, this is the place! Huge selection, fresh, and reasonably priced.
This was a Christmas Eve lunch that will always be fondly remembered.
From the moment we arrived the staff seemed confused. The hostess really never greeted us, she just handed two menu to another employee and away we went. When we got to the table there was hardly any room for us to sit - the table were jammed together that much. Service was slow and it seemed as though we didn’t really have an assigned server. There were four didn’t people that waited on us during the meal - not one of them introduced themselves and said they’d be taking care of us. Overall it was just a bad and confusing experience. The only good thing I can say about it is that the food was great.
Waters is an exceptional dining experience. The food is amazing from start to finish. The environment, service, and experience has no equal. Whether your looking for a romantic dinner, a business meal, or a bite before a show, Waters is definitely worth your time. Don’t miss out!
Love John Bonnell’s restaurants. We used to go to Waters when it was on Crocket Street and loved it but it was out of place there. This location is much better.
I started with “The Dirty Dozen” which is 2 of each of the 6 different kinds of oysters on the half shell. Great choice since they were half price. Loved the ones from Duxbury, MA the best. I had the Cajun scallops for my meal. Super good choice. Loved them.
My wife had the salmon. She thought it was the best. Good size piece of fish. She brought half back home.
Overall, highly recommend. Bit pricey but well worth it.
We dined with a relatively large group (8) on the night before a holiday (Thanksgiving.) The food was delicious, we shared several appetizers and they even made one by special request. The main dishes were great! We were slightly disappointed because there was only one left of the special and two of us ordered, but they split the plate for us and let us share the special with another dish. The service was wonderful.
On top of that, two of our guests were deaf and one was hard of hearing and the waitstaff was very patient and attentive, everyone felt welcome. Thank you Waters for a lovely evening with friends.
Atmosphere is kind of stuffy. No personality. Fine dining. Eat. Go.
The food was good. Our server was good. Many people go out for the experience and atmosphere as well. This lacked that all together. If I could do tonight over again, I would go to Mercury Chophouse for a second time or Eddie V’s for the second time. Was a bit disappointed.
20th Anniversary. Started with the "Dirty Dozen" which was very, very good. Oysters from six different locations. Perfect for the two of us to try together. One oyster was on the small size and the wait staff quickly replaced it with 2 of the same. Next, we tried the calamari and it was good. The big WOW for me was the Halibut! I am sure I will be craving it next week. Heck, I'm craving it now! Husband had the Yellow Fin and was pleased. Our reservations were for a bar table and it was just fine. I might even say it was better than a table because it seemed more intimate. The main tables appeared to be too close to your "neighbor". If your going to Ft. Worth, this place is a must stop!
The food & service were outstanding. Had the halibut with gnocchi & it was divine. Calamari is some of the best I have had (& I have had a lot). I have The Waters cookbook & have done the crab cakes multiple times. I really wanted to see if the ones served at the restaurant are as good as preparing them at home, but decided to I should try something else. Glad I did but next time I will have a taste test because the crab cake recipe is absolutely stellar.
