Waters Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
All of the items ordered were fantastic and delicious; fried goat cheese and heirloom salad, calamari, crab cakes, crab legs and the a la carte sides. The calamari and dirty rice were the best that I’ve ever had. The server was excellent and had extensive knowledge regarding their menu.
The only negative experience was that the restaurant is a bit small and there was no sense of privacy at all. The tables are closely arranged so the conversations to both side could be easily heard without intent. A bit disappointing for a Valentine’s date location.
However, overall experience was great.
Menu selection was good. Food was flavorful and just the right amount. My wife had the scallops but thought they were a little dry. I had the salmon and it was great. Found out that you have to request bread with your salad, they don’t automatically bring it since it is baked fresh for each order (they don’t charge for it). By the time they brought our bread out we had already finished our salads and were waiting for our entrees. But when it showed up it was hot and delicious. So order bread early!! Wine selection was nice and not too overpriced. We did notice another table had brought their own wine. When we asked we were told you could only do that with the owners permission. Too bad, it would have been nice to bring one of our nice wines from our cellar.
We had a cocktail table reservation, the only availability they had. Our server was a bit slow to get started. Once a noisy party at the bar left, things picked up a bit. My husband enjoyed half a dozen raw oysters, which were a total hit. He then had the char and I had the salmon. Both were delicious. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre and when the sommelier brought it back, we really enjoyed talking with him. After our meal, the sommelier offered us a tour of the new restaurant space, which was great. We will definitely return, but will be looking for a table in the main dining area next time. Or on the great patio, if the weather permits!
We truly enjoyed our evening. Food was delicious.
Think they may have been short handed. Our waitress was very sweet but we had to ask for bread & butter, it took awhile to get it & water glasses were not filled regularly. The waitress seemed like she had too many tables.
We will come back.
Once again a fabulous dining experience at Waters! There were 6 of us Amex everyone loved everything and can’t wait to go there again!
The fresh fish and oyster selections were awesome. I had the Sea Bass special of the night and can honestly say it was the best sea bass I have had!
Food was outstanding but service was just ok. We poured our own wine refills. Just seemed like the waitress didn’t really come by to ask how we were doing very often. We wanted to order another bottle of wine and our waitress seemed to be MIA. Never offered bread that I saw several other tables having. As soon as we sat down she went through specials and asked if we were ready to order. We literally had no time to read the menu at that point. Just seemed kind of silly.
Would still go back because the food was great and I am normally not very picky on service level. Just seemed to lack the service level you would expect at a restaurant as nice and this and at this price point.
I was pleased with the wine list. Very reasonably priced.
Still recommend this restaurant.
Horrible experience. This restaurant is terrible in so many ways. First off, their waitstaff are IHOP discards. They couldn’t care less about you. Their food - especially their seafood (supposedly their strong suit) - was horrendously prepared. The calamari was prepared from frozen. The halibut was as dried out as a MacFish sandwich. Indifferent service and lousy food make this place one of the biggest wastes of money you’ll ever persevere.
The house salad was very oily and the cornbread croutons did not seem to compliment the taste.. He asked for anchovies for his Caesar salad and was told they had " no anchovies, there is oyster dressing." Again he asked what could come with the Caesar, the same answer was given. so we did, not order oysters. The cornbread croutons we placed them all onto a plate and said we did not care for them. The waiter from the bar said, They are the best and we should try them." We each tried one and did not think they complimented our salad choices.
perhaps a dressing on the side would've been better if recommended for the house salad.
Waters may very well be the finest restaurant in Fort Worth. You would expect a restaurant called "Waters" to have great seafood--and it does. But it also has outstanding steaks, a ridiculously good burger at lunch, phenomenal sides and appetizers, and five-star service. The wine list has some very rare and well-priced selections, as well as reasonable prices on "regular" nice bottles.
Everything was wonderful! We dined at Waters New Year’s Eve prior to going to Bass Hall. Our waitress Nikki after introducing herself immediately inquired about our schedule. She was lovely! John Bonnell, The owner visited with us at our table as well as several other tables. He Is delightful!
Delicious food and great service. But the back dining room is too crowded. And, sitting by the windows in the bench seating offers no privacy. Could barely have a conversation since all I could hear were the people next to us! Would go again but be sure to request different seats.
