At Waters Restaurant – Sundance Square, we source the freshest wild, seasonal, and sustainable seafood available. Our style brings together flavors of the southwest, with hints of Louisiana, but our featured ingredients themselves typically speak the loudest. Our Signature Gumbo hastens back to some Creole roots when Jon Bonnell cooked in the French Quarter of New Orleans, while our beef gets the royal treatment Chef Felli has made famous for much of his career. Diver scallops from Maine get a slight TexMex makeover after being perfectly golden-crust-seared, while jumbo lump crabcakes celebrate beautifully fresh crab as their essence, never loaded with fillers just to save a buck. We will never utilize third-world fish farms, cheap seafood substitutes, artificial flavorings, or exploit threatened species at Waters. We strive for only the best experience for our guests, while at the same time being good stewards of our environment and our future.

25th Wedding Anniversary
Great service and recommendations from Kristen in the bar, and James (Jamie) was very smart, sweet, and managed many tables well. The manager stopped by to visit, and was in stark contrast to many mangers we’ve met through the years at Dallas restaurants which isn’t a jab at Dallas GM’s in the least. I met a maternal figure who had a (not to date her) but a very matronly presence over her operation. I think the staff feels cared for first, and I think virtually the rest is secondary. You just don’t see that in the more fast paced and commercial settings further east. She listened to our positive critique of her staff, and thanked us with a free app token for next time. We recommend the bar for happy hour with a flight of a dozen oysters from the north east for only 19 vs 34 normally. Try the bartender recommended Gin, Uncle Val’s, as a martini straight up with them- there’s a floral and citrus tone to the gin I haven’t seen previously, even supersedes Citadel. This was our first time and not our last!
Always a great experience! Love the Tx Rockefeller & my steak was fantastic!
It is always a treat to eat at Waters and this trip was no exception. We were eating early so we indulged in 2 orders of the Dirty Dozen. The oysters are always fantastic and the Dirty Dozen is a fun way to try oysters from different areas. Next was the crab and avocado salad. We split it and it was enough for both of us after the double appetizer order. Crab meat and avocados were meant for each other apparently. On to the main course. She had the scallops, her favorite go to meal. I had the special, a filet with mashed potatoes (regular and sweet potatoes mixed together) and the Oscar sauce (sauce?). Oh my. I can't begin to describe how incredible this was. The tastes, the textures were all perfectly blended. My wife kept "sampling" the potatoes.
Jon and his team always do an outstanding job in a fun environment. I can't wait to go back.
Always an amazing experience at Jon Bonnell's Waters. Food, service, wine & cocktails are always just perfect. A sampling of raw oysters and steamed king crab legs were very flavorful. Halibut and Lobster Pasta (the feature) were both absolutely perfect! Cheesecake for dessert was just the right portion size.
Dependable and consistent service and food quality.
Our favorite restaurant, in a town full of great restaurants!
After reading a lot of hype about Waters, my husband and I went the day before Valentine's Day. I am a foodie and a traveler and have had food at the finest restaurants from all over the world and have heard people rave about the seafood here, so I was anxious to try it. We had the calamari, which was not fresh and I had the scallops, which were over cooked. My husband had the filet, and he is loyal to another restaurant's steak, so I will leave out his review. The best part of dinner was the wine. The service was okay, nothing special. The ambiance was not really romantic at all. I would possibly go back and give the bar area a try, but probably not a sit-in meal.
You guys have become our get away restaurant, we live in North Dallas and to us it is worth the drive, you offer great taste quality food and service every time, Ryan did a great job.
Our valentine dinner was great. Food was excellent and our waiter was great also. Highly recommend eating there!
We had a great time with the family and enjoyed a great meal
Everything was perfect. Food was fresh and lived up to expectations.
Great place.
The food and service were wonderful! I couldn't recommend this place enough!
Don’t sleep on the hush puppies! They’re served with a spicy honey butter👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 AND fresh fried jalapeños. The andouille sausage was the best we’ve ever had, in like ever. The shrimp was perfectly prepared and I’m still thinking about it. You’ll be too full for dessert, but don’t make the mistake and pass it up. 2021 is about making better life decisions. Walk off dinner around the block and enjoy the lemon ice box pie at home. It’s light and a perfect sweet ending to your day. You deserve happiness!
The food was excellent! Our server was a knowledgeable, but could have been more attentive for the price.
Excellent service, atmosphere and of course the food. Big thumbs up!
As usual a very nice dinner. Menu was extremely limited last night
Oysters are the best! Crab and artichoke dip was all artichoke. Service great!
Lovely evening on the patio. The food and service were divine, the heaters made it cozy and the tables were well spaced. Made for an intimate, casually luxurious, safe pandemic date night. Can’t wait to return.
Anniversary
Other than getting the what we like to call "Covid stare" from when we walked in and didn't immediately have our masks on (we aren't wearing it outside when you have to park a mile away and hike it in heels) so we put it on as we were entering the building, the entire evening was fantastic. The food was superb. Our server was energetic and has learned to enunciate her words well enough in the mask that you can hear and understand her even while she is wearing a mask. As it was our anniversary, she even offered to take a picture or two of us. It was a perfect evening. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly and my Salmon was so moist it literally fell apart while eating it. The layers came off without even really having to try to cut in to it. Beautiful place and perfect for any date night. (During Covid or not).
Thanks to our servers Carrieanne and Elliot. It was a great Experience.
Wonderful Birthday at the bar for happy hour!
Limited menu, small portions and cocktails that are over priced. Those are the downsides but oysters were good, crab cake bland, scallops very nice, Halibut was very good and red fish & chips were solid. Old fashion was excellent but $18 each is pricy. Very good but far from great for the price.
Always a great place.
Very good dining experience. Service was prompt. Condensed menu did not have the seafood tower on it. Overall definitely a repeat.
Nothing special here. I won’t return. Halibut overcooked, crab cake had fishy taste
The best food and service in town, the world even!!
Waters was highly recommended but did not meet our expectations on any level. The side order of haricot vert green beans was ordered as an appetizer and was quite good. Unfortunately, that was the high point of the evening. The gumbo was really a rice dish, essentially with a very small amount of very light roux drizzled on top. It had mainly okra and a single shrimp sliced into multiple bites. It was so thick with rice that it was more like jambalaya. It makes my bottom five gumbo list. The fish and chips featured a generous amount of four pieces of fried redfish, one of which was a slice of the dark dorsal fin portion that is unsavory in taste and texture. The waiter seemed inauthentic...every time we said "thank you" he would bellow melodramatically with great flourish, "MY PLEASURE". We probably heard it ten times.
The food, service and wine were all outstanding.
Fantastic experience, as always! Candice and her staff were superb. Excellent food, GREAT wine suggestion, unobtrusive service. Everyone was on pointZ
We go to Waters often, love the place
Always a treat to go to Waters. Crab cakes are best in Fort Worth IMHO, and the Halibut on the menu was fantastic with sweet potato gnocchi. Really nice wine list with some great choices by the glass. Service is always spot on and above and beyond when Jon comes out to tables to check on everything. This is a Fort Worth gem.
Wish the oysters would have been bigger. Food was very good
We are so fortunate to have such a fine seafood restaurant like Water’s in Fort Worth! Excellent menu, superb service!
Mary was fantastic! We love going to Waters for celebration meals and have yet to have any issues with service or food. Fantastic seafood restaurant to try if you're in Fort Worth!
We started our meal with the “dirty dozen” oysters. All the varieties of oysters were delicious, but one of them was SPECTACULAR. We both ordered off the Restaurant Week menu, but my boyfriend is such a fan of Waters’ gumbo that he added a cup to his meal. The brown butter sauce was the perfect enhancement to the pecan-crusted redfish I ordered. Steve describes his shrimp and grits as “creamy, cheesy, and delicious”.
As always at Jon Bonnell’s restaurants, the staff took great care of us. Sunny was knowledgeable about the menu and shared our enthusiasm about the oysters. She provided great suggestions.
One of our favorite aspects of Waters is that it is not too loud for us to quietly converse over dinner.
Always a wonderful experience at Waters! Food and service was excellent.
I really want to like Waters Restaurant. As a consumer I have an issue with the high price of the food in relation to the portion served. Paying nearly 40$ for an entree should consist of more than 3 scallops served over a bed of corn. The desserts are also just too small of a portion. Paying around $200 for dinner shouldn’t leave you feeling hungry after three courses. I would recommend Waters either reevaluate their pricing or offer their customer’s a better serving size. $200 can go pretty far at other restaurants in the area such as Bob’s, Del’s, or Capital grille, etc.
