Beautiful water front restaurant with incredible views of Ventura Harbor and the most stunning sunsets anywhere in Southern California. Fresh seafood from the fishing boats to our kitchens and moderately priced for our customers.
The updated RhumbLine now Water's Edge is a much more comfortable restaurant. Whereas before the old worn-out chairs were very uncomfortable, the new chairs are great, and we loved the light color instead of black. We received a window table as requested and throughout had excellent service from not just our waitperson Coco but from others on the wait staff as well. They served my ahi with extra wasabi on the side, much appreciated, and the sand dabs were tender and perfectly prepared. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they brought us a beautiful dessert on the house. My only caution: If you are using a ride service like Lyft, order your ride home before you get to Water's Edge. You won't be able to schedule a pick-up from the restaurant for some reason neither I nor Lyft can fathom. Others have had the same problem from this harbor location.
Our waitress was not very good. The meal took 20 to 25 more minutes that it should have. Had to keep asking the other help to get us service. Things like the bill more water to name two.
Manager was wonderful- did a great job in covering for our non-existent server... setting was absolutely lovely!
I enjoyed my meal. Food was tasty. Good ambiance. Will likely return.
This was our 2nd Valentine’s Day dinner there and it was amazing. The food, service and ambiance is always spectacular.
Excellent food. Excellent cocktails. Very kind and concerned manager who will make sure you are having a great night. We took my disabled Mom-in-law out for Valentine's and they were awesome about accommodating her. We 10/10 will be back!
The manager named Orestes was wonderful and took care of making our table by the window a romantic Valentine’s evening. There was some initial confusion of our table but Orestes made the best of it!!!!!
Thank you for a wonderful night! The food, service and music was awesome! But what we loved most was the special touches in decorations and rose petals everywhere!!❤️❤️🍷
Great oysters. Lobster entree was not hot, lukewarm, probably related to the slow service. Waiter seemed new and not well informed. Halibut and salmon dishes were good. Great ambience. Would go again.
First time visit with no regret- to Celebrate a dear Friends birthday. From the Moment we stepped into the restaurant we were immediately greeted and we did not have to wait for a table, as we had made reservations. The service was
Excellent! I ordered one of two specials; a shrimp
And salmon omelette. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict. We were pleased with our food. My friend commented that her eggs were cooked
Perfectly. She order the hollindise sauce on the side- and her request came through. My omelette was delicious. It was Light and fluffy,
And was not over cooked! The food was both attractively plated and delicious. The service was
Perfect. Our server was Very attentive, and friendly- without being annoying. I plan to visit again.
The ambiance at the Water's Edge set the stage for a relaxing, enjoyable experience with family. Food was excellent, service good and view fantastic!
Our only complaint was that the tables by the window were much to close together. Getting in and out difficult and we felt as though we were part of the tables on either side.
Ordered braised short ribs
And salad charged 6.00$ to split meal
We each received 1 small piece of meat approx 2” sq mine was all fat hidden by gravy
Will not be coming back
Great happy hour!
Lamb was ordered medium, it came to the table, rare/medium rare. I did not have
time to send it back, it was edible. Everything else was fine. We will certainly be
The food was not good. The chicken was undercooked. The calamari tasted old. The salmon dish was not that great.
An enjoyable brunch with good food. The waiter could have been a bit more attentive as we had to ask more than once for water and coffee.
The service was really poor and food mediocre
Just too expensive
Pleasant....nice view, good food...only one person had anything to drink and the bill was 300 bucks
My wife’s birthday.
Second time (it used to be called the Rhumb Line). Service is a tad slow, but the food is great and the view is awesome.
It’s right on the water, excellent views of the sunset. Ask for a table next to the window if one is available. The braised short rib was outstanding. Service was great. The portions are decent. They should probably expand on their side dishes. The wife and I will most likely visit again when we’re back in the Ventura area.
excellent ambiance, great view, friendly staff and tasty food
We had a very nice business dinner, we were able to converse because the restaurant wasn't loud like most are now. The food was excellent, we ate every bite even if we were too full! The service and atmosphere was excellent. Caution: it is expensive.
Delicious meal, excellent service. Birthday lunch for a small group and everyone enjoyed.
Although nicely presented, I was disappointed with the taste of the food. Had the Ahi tuna that I thought would come with a wasabi season, but it had none. Just sesame seeds. Wife had chicken that was 'OK' for her. Friend has pasta that was 'OK' for him too.
Four of us ate there last Saturday night. We all had different entrées and all of us agreed that they were excellent. We enjoyed the waterfront view and the general ambience of the restaurant. I recommend this restaurant if you want really good food. Be prepared for the noise level. It was almost so loud that we could not converse. Noise from across the room at times was almost unbearable.
The reservation through Open Table was flawless. We were sat at a beautiful window seat, over looking the harbor.
We all had brunch and everyone enjoyed their food; no complaints.
I will eat there again.
The fresh baked bread was delicious, along with the bruschetta, for the table. The calimari fritto was delightful and the lobster bisque was perfect. The risotto was overcooked, as well as the fish, which was disappointing considering the price. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent.
We were here three times this past weekend and everything was outstanding! Cannot wait to go back next time we are in Ventura-love this place!
We went for happy hour. Cocktails and food were great. View of the sunset was lovely.
Great service and what a beautiful view. Food is wonderful. We enjoy coming here every time.
After being warmly greeted, we were seated at our table and the wait staff promptly took our drink order. From that point forward service was slow and we felt neglected. There were a few other larger groups in the dining room, however that should not be an excuse for poor service. The waitress had a very pleasant demeanor however she did not return often to check on us. When the food arrived it was room temperature and we both had plated hot dishes. We also waited for along time between finishing our appetizer for the empty dishes and drink glasses to be cleared. When we were ready to leave, our waitress with our check was no where to be found. Unfortunately whatever happened between the former names Rhumb Line closing and the new Waters Edge opening will prevent us from returning to this once coveted local restaurant.
We came with some friends and they loved it. We felt like they paid close attention as one of our party was vegetarian. Would highly recommend.
Great view, amazing food and beautiful ambiance. Great place for special occasions.
Food is good. Service was good by everyone but our waitress. She brought us menus, but wouldn’t take our drink order. After 20 minutes she came back to take our dinner order. Said we would like to start with drinks and she just kind of shrugged
The halibut was excellent and our server was awesome.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised on our first visit after all the renovations. But we were especially pleased that they retained the same chef and kept many of the former items on their menu.
The updated contemporary interior was fresh and inviting. We loved seeing the kitchen opened up to the upper dining area and the newly installed wine wall.
We were happy with our table top seating with a nice view of the Ventura harbor. Well done!
We really enjoyed the ambiance and staff. The service was excellent were are hoping to have dinner next time.
We have always enjoyed the now Water Edge, but with a half full occupancy it seemed very noisy. Maybe the other patrons were not aware of the noise level but we a bit disturbed by it. Baffles or something might help.
Views fantastic ... food not great , staff friendly , a bit too pricey for lunch , menu was adequate... best was the Marina Views
