Amazing food, amazing view, amazing value and amazing service!! Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed it. Definitely will go back to try more things. Excellent ambiance and service. Overall great time and good food.
I’ll write it off as an off night
Fish over cooked service distracted
Place empty bill for value shocking
Nice view and great happy hour
To put to simple water’s edge is definitely 1 of the top 5 restaurants I’ve been too. And I personally will recommend waters edge to literally everyone.
We really love this restaurant, especially since the new chef came on board! Excellent food, excellent specials, and the black rice risotto is out of this world!! Highly recommend.
We were here two years ago. The food and service are still outstanding however, the menu has changed to a la carte. They are also doing out door dining only and had only two working heaters on a very foggy and windy night.
First, our open table reservation wasn’t in their books, even after getting a text confirmation the day before. There was a memorial happening in their parking lot (we found out ourselves after leaving) and we weren’t forewarned about how ungodly long our wait was going to be. We got there at 12:45, and didn’t have any food on our table until 2pm. Not one person came up to apologize for the wait, nor gave any explanation while we were waiting. Refills weren’t offered as our waitress just seemed to have disappeared. Once we finally got our food (a single waffle and a hamburger) it wasn’t even hot, and our waitress disappeared into thin air once again. Once we finished, it took another almost 25 minutes to find someone to ask for a check (nearly $60 for not hot food) and we ran out of there after paying. Without a single apology or even a goodbye. 10/10 will never go back or recommend to anyone.
Hi Megan, This is Tony from Water's Edge. I am sorry to hear about the long wait time. I will definitely go over that topic with my staff immediately! Could you please give me a call? I would like to hear a little bit more about your experience and make it right. Please feel free to call me at 805.642.1200, or please send me your phone number in private, and I would be happy to reach out. Thank you again, Tony
The food was delicious, but the waitress seemed overly concerned with a potential newlywed couple and getting their business. All attention even the executive Chef Was on that
Table. The food was delicious. Just slower service.
The food was just OK. They were out of the special. When we questioned the waiter, he finally admitted that all of the fish was frozen. One of the 2 dishes was fish and you could really tell that it was frozen and poor quality. Very disappointed for a restaurant on the water in Ventura.
As last year for our wedding dinner the food and surroundings were excellent. This year for our 1st anniversary the same except that service was slow, over a hour and a half before we were served our appetizer. Management explained a printer problem with the kitchen...funny, every other waitress was able to serve their table on time.
We were in Ventura county and decided we wanted a waterfront dinner experience. This place had 3.5 stars on yelp and said good for kids (win for us, we have children!) so we figured we would try it. The experience started out ok, but somehow they were out of regular coke on a Sunday afternoon (my husbands splurge drink). We ordered the guac and chips and fried Mac for the kids. The guac was great and the fried Mac was just ok, but the kids ate it. We then ordered the chorizo crab cakes, the Szechwan ribs off the happy hour menu and then their wild rice risotto. Somehow there was a miscommunication with the server and the kitchen about the last half of our order and the server went on break and we never got our food. So the manager came to us and apologized and offered our food to come out right away or to go, and we said to go because at this point we were an hour from home and it was about 45min until our baby’s bedtime. He also comp’d the 3 items that we did not receive. So we got the crab cakes, ribs, and risotto to go. My husband and I ate them in the car on the way home...it was an interesting experience. The food was just ok, the ribs were tough but sauce was decent. The crab cakes were kind of dry. I’d say of the 3 items the risotto tasted the best. Unfortunately I’m not sure we will be back. The waterfront views were nice and the manager made things right as best as he could, but the food was just average.
Waters Edge is doing the best they can serving in Covid time. The seating outside was not very good and rather noisy. Normally this is an excellent restaurant!
I rarely write a bad review, but this is well deserved. We were seated at an outside table that faced the parking lot. This, after a guaranteed ocean view. The table was dirty and not up to Covid standards. The food was expensive and awful. My entree was a crispy chicken smothered with an awful red sauce, no vegetable, etc, just a chicken breast that was over cooked and horrid that cost almost $30. The other guests had equally disturbing experiences. There are other fine, ocean dining restaurants. Stay away from this one.

I chose this restaurant with no idea it would be so great. I n=booked this place based on location and I assumed it would be basic beachy / tourist fare....boy was I wrong.
The food was outstanding, every course. From the crab cakes, to the salad and then the lobster tail. All amazing . The food I will definitely be back for and the topper was our lovely waitress, Cambria. She was a delight. Impeccable service, romantic views and first rate food. A winning combination!
Terrible food and slow service. Even the drinks were mediocre. Will not go back.
Couldn't get a dinner time reservation so chose 5:45, didn't know the had a happy hour menu at the time and it was a pleasant surprise. Good value menu and was able to try 4 different things for the price 2 dinners would have cost. Food was good and tasty. Outdoor patio nice view of the harbor. Oh and a nice happy hour drink menu
Good portions great food and great service highly recommended
Greatly enjoyed the fresh fish as well as the excellent sides!
Little pricey for what you the current experience is, service slow.
The house margarita was everything a marg, should be and more. It was a satisfying balance of tart and sweetness served in a tall glass and prepared with their house made sour mix. It paired really well with the savory poke and crispy fried calamary. Make sure to try the rich and creamy NY cheesecake for dessert. Happy Hour prices are reasonable and fair. Over all it was a delightful relaxing experience to sip and dine al fresco with the view of the ocean and the docking fishing boats. The service was on point, staff was very attentive. Cant wait to return and explore the rest of the menu.
Arrived about 25 minutes early for our 7:30 reservations. Dimetri (manager) was very cordial and made sure we were comfortable while waiting for our table. Our server, Savannah, was very friendly and courteous and helped make the evening extremely pleasant. Food was excellent although everything is ala carte so pay attention to the menu. Our dinners (halibut for me and seared ahi for my wife) were REALLY GOOD!! Very sad that, due to Covid restrictions, they only have about 20 tables available. Can't say enough good things about Water's Edge and our experience with the staff. Will definitely revisit this restaurant next time we're near Ventura
Food was pricey but scallops were deep fried and there was a ton of cheap seasoning on my roulade.
Service was excellent.
The service was miserable, and the food was very mediocre… I will probably not be back.
2 of the 4 meals were ok, chef missed this one by a mile
Our first date as an engaged couple! We got recommendations and we had such wonderful service!!! I am so impressed with the steaks, perfectly cookes! The appetizers were also wonderful, as well as the chocolate almond tort dessert! Wonderful!
Had a new server who tried very hard to please us. She was very pleasant but didn't know how to use a cork screw. I showed her how to open a bottle of wine. she said it was her first time opening one. Management should have done a better job of training but she caught on quickly and should be a good server for the restaurant.
Great experience. My fiancé loved it. Good job and place is beautiful and the food is great
Loved the menu and the food was so good
Food was wonderful. There is a great variety to please all appetites. Staff very friendly and attentive. Great happy hour menu - even though we ordered off the dinner menu, would return for happy hour. They were out of a lot of things on the wine list leaving pretty much red or chardonnay - otherwise it would have been a 5 star experience!
lovely evening, server was excellent, food good, table perfect.
I brought my mother here for her birthday dinner on a Sunday evening. The server, Savanna, was incredible. She was so attentive, kind, and fast! Love this spot.
Went there for my 60th birthday. Food and service was excellent. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Nice seating on the outside deck, next to the marina.
I would definitely refer this awesome restaurant to any of my friends and family. The service was excellent and I’m saying 5 star plus. Overlook the harbor as well.. a huge plus and food is perfectly made😊
Abraham did a fantastic job!
Great food and killer cocktails!
Our server Hannah was outstanding! The food was delicious and the view was amazing. Only downside was there was a table adjacent to ours with 4 very loud women. Once they left it was quieter. The ambiance was very nice although personally we would have preferred easy listening music rather than 80s dance music. Some early 70’s would have been perfect! It was my Birthday. I guess I am getting old. 😂
All around lovely brunch!
Food was really good and it was great to be on the water. Service was extremely friendly though a little slow. I would 100% return
Enjoyed our happy hour in a perfect setting. Love the Ahi appetizer and had the most delusions curry soup. Need to make reservations for happy hour now in Covid time Great to be outside looking at water
