I came here on a date and everything about the experience was unforgettable. We enjoyed a lovely appetizer with some drinks, the strawberry rhubarb mojito and the 805 sunset and they were delicious. Service was fast and our server, I wish I remembered her name, was very kind and checked on us a reasonable amount of times. For dinner I had the Ahi Steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Would definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant 4 times now…all the ingest are there for a fabulous experience…however their service is really slow. Took about 10 min after we were seated to order our drinks and then another 15-20 min will we got our drinks. Food is good but it too takes a while to come out of the kitchen. We drive all the way from Thousand Oaks - a 35-45 min drive depending on traffic. Will think twice before we go back again. Shame as this really could be a great restaurant.

As ever, the dining room is beautiful and comfortable, the service impeccable. The main courses were terrific -- interesting and delicious, but a tiny bit undersalted. The lamb shank paired well with the pickled onions, an unexpectedly good mix. The steak and short ribs were insanely tasty, the pasta with filet mignon excellent. The starters were very good, though we did not care for the honey on the brussels sprouts -- a personal taste issue, but might give that a miss next time.

The flourless chocolate cake - almost a lava cake - was very good; the pairing with the strawberry vinaigrette was unexpected, but I liked it. Water's Edge does not have great desserts though, unless you love cheesecake. The pink champagne cake had little flavor other than "sweet" and was stodgy. Skip dessert and have more of the wonderful fresh oysters instead.

We've eaten at Water's Edge many times both before the new ownership and name change and all and what I can say is that this is a wonderful place to dine. We were in for brunch on the day of the tsunami and not only was the food spectacular - fish and chips and the Elvis - but the show with the water rushing to and fro was almost mystical - so it was dinner and a show! The host was charming and our server was terrific and the barkeep was superb and all that is nice but it is the excellent food that keeps us coming back.

Our waitress Savannah provided such wonderful service. She deserves special kudos. The manager also came by the tables and enquired about the quality. A really wonderful establishment. I highly recommend the seared ahi, prime rib, and the strawberry rhubarb mojito. Fantastic all around!

The quality of the food doesn’t qualify for the prices at all!!!! I’m not unaccustomed to paying $200-$300 for dinner for 2 and happy to do so if the quality and presentation are there. Sorry this restaurant doesn’t make it!!!

We were not going to go out on New Years Eve but since Water's Edge was having a dinner for New Years and we live in walking distance we decided to make a reservation for 6:15 pm and are so delighted that we did. Buffet was excellent, service was as well. Music was a live guitar player by the name of Jake McClelland - music was pleasant and you could still have a conversation. We have been going there for Happy Hour once a week which did contribute to our making a decision for New Year's. Glad we did and still got home in time to watch then ball drop in New York.

This was our first time dining at Waters Edge. The view and ambience can't redeem the low quality food offered at this restaurant. Even though the wait staff and catering workers were very friendly, this will be our last time dining here. I looked online and found some entrees I enjoy on the menu. Unfortunately, they only offered a fixed buffet because it was news years eve. The cost of the buffet was $85 so we were expecting high quality food and desserts. However, what they served was exactly the opposite. I don't mind spending money on a quality meal. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling like we just ate at a cheap meat and 3 buffett. The prime rib was the only thing offered that was of any quality. Everything else tasted like frozen food from Ralph's TV dinner freezer section. The rolls were awful and cold. They also only offered them with Garlic and should have had a plain option. They also only offered 2 desserts. One was a coffee chocolate cake and I have no idea what the other option was... My girlfriend gagged on it.. Many people including me DO NOT like coffee which excluded me from enjoying a dessert. I hoped it would redeem the low quality meal I had just eaten. The included champagne was undrinkable and lower quality than the cheap stuff from Costco. To top it all off, the manager pretty much blew us off when we gave him our feedback. After reading several online reviews from Yelp and Google I see they copy and paste the same response to every negative review. They obviously don't care at Waters Edge. I'll make sure to inform all of colleagues to avoid this restaurant. In closing this feedback regarding the Waters Edge restaurant in Ventura, I'd like to emphasize that you don't always get what you pay for... If that was the case, the buffet would have been $9.99 per plate. It certainly wasn't worth a fraction of the $85 price point.

We have eaten at Waters Edge many times pre pandemic, and always enjoyed it. We most recently had Christmas Eve dinner there, and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is comfortable and pretty; the food -- a buffet -- was very good; and the service was excellent.

Going out to eat on a major holiday can be difficult, especially with the pandemic staffing shortages, but our waiter was welcoming and made us feel welcomed and comfortable after our very hard week, and the maitre d'/host gave us similarly welcoming personal attention.

The buffet food was very good: the prime rib and lamb stood out. It was a bright note in what has been a difficult season; and the sense of hospitality, and of being cared for and nourished by the restaurant staff was palpable and made Christmas Eve a delight for the two of us.

It seemed it took us longer to receive food than others who arrived after us.
My husband did not care for his halibut fish and chips, and he stated that the fries were very greasy as if they were reheated. The other three enjoyed the food.

Dined on two Sat. prior to Christmas for a B.D. celebration as noted in our reservations. Although a desert was brought for the birthday, no candle or salutation. The waitress was either new to waitressing, but basically not that attentive. We had to ask for bread for the table. Water glasses are the size of a juice glass, so had to constantly ask for refills that never came. Finally, an ice tea glass was requested for water. Ordered lobster risotto with very finally shredded lobster, and the chunks that were in it tasted more like shrimp. I have had the lobster mashed potatoes in the past and they were basically like the risotto. I doubt we will be returning.

The staff is fabulous. Our server was fabulous. The restaurant is lovely. The food was not on par with its price. The beignets were uneven, over fried, hard and chewy. We either had a terrible batch or they don’t know beignets. The ceviche was more like a fish taco on a tostada. It was so overdone with extra stuff it lost what makes ceviche so great. The rest of our orders were not as good as expected either. It was an expensive disappointment

Our server was lovely and attentive but the food was truthfully, bad. Especially considering the price tag. It was clear that the ahi had previously been frozen and the fettuccine in the shrimp fettuccine was over cooked to the point of mush. The cocktails were also sugary and watered down. The old fashioned was predominantly maple syrup. Really disappointing place to celebrate an anniversary. Would not recommend.

We arrived early and were seated immediately. We had the crab cakes which were great. I had the shrimp fettuccine, and my wife had the filet. Both dishes were wonderful. Kambria was our server for the second time . She was excellent. We will request her next time we visit the restaurant.

Reserved table for 6, Thanksgiving. Was told over the phone my 90 year old Mother could be charged as under 12, she eats like a mouse. when we arrived I was told that the manager said no way. didn't make a fuss, didn't want to upset Thanksgiving. Ordered cocktails and were immediately pressured by server to get our meal, drinks just arrived. No tablecloth, butter, salt and pepper or decorations on table. Buffet food was may be B grade, the potato chips were very good. didn't care for the macaroni and cheese. Small desert table with 3 lousy deserts to choose from, pumpkin pie in a silver dollar sized tin. The most disappointing Buffet we have ever experienced. They also gave me no option for a tip and included a mandatory $90 gratuity. Coffee or Tea were part of the Buffet, but our server never came to offer us any. At $59 dollars a head, it should have been a much nicer Thanksgiving. Total bill with 10 cocktails and a mandatory 20 percent tip.....$608. ill never recommend this restaurant.

Limited menu on Sunday lunch. Had fish and chips. Fish was similar to a beer and flour dip and was cooked perfectly. The French fries were limp, poorly presented and couldn’t be cured with a catsup dip.

View is nice but surrounding glass lets sound bounce without attenuation, hence noisy even though only 25% of the tables were in use.

Generally not a very memorable repast. I won’t be back.
