Beautiful water front restaurant with incredible views of Ventura Harbor and the most stunning sunsets anywhere in Southern California. Fresh seafood from the fishing boats to our kitchens and moderately priced for our customers.

Good service and a nice view. The food is not worth the price.
Loud door kept slamming near bar. Reservation was not honored. Not enough servers. My short ribs were dry. My husband said his fish tasted expired.
The hostess was abrupt and unpleasant. We showed up for a 1:00 pm reservation at 12:55 pm . She told us we still had 5 minutes.
We could see 5 empty window tables. She made no mention of waiting in the bar or made any effort to be warm and welcoming
Our aerver was very patient and did his very best. I had a vegetarian dish that was excellent however the other three members of the party found the food to be I’ll prepared and/or lacking flavor.
We were quite disappointed and probably won’t go back.
Service was great. They need to work on their wine list a bit but the the wait staff new their stuff. Had the show tuna, it was good but needed a sauce. The chef came out and asked for our feedback which is a great sign of the restaurant trying to be successful. Will go back for sure. The lobster hush puppies rock!
First of all, absolutely love Coco of the management team. Very personable, warm, and engaging. Unfortunately this time, the service wasn't terrific. I would consider this to be an upscale restaurant and with that comes specific expectations in regard to the service.
Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. But his ability to coordinate our table service lacked the qualities of an upscale restaurant. For example, we began the evening with cocktails and requested various wines to be served with our dinner. Half way through our meal, I got up from the table to find him and remind him about our wine. This is by no means an intent to "throw him under the bus". But it is apparent that he needs a bit more further training so that he can provide the impecable service one might find in an upscale restaurant.
Very disappointing. Food was presented well but then was very bland. Very one-note. Lobster hush puppies were just dense over-fried dough balls with no flavor or trace of any lobster ($17). Beautiful views and ambiance but walked out with a $160 bill for 2 and a kid and very sad we spent so much money on food so sub par.
The ambiance is spectacular--it's smack on the Ventura harbor--and our chef took special pains to please us with a complementary dessert platter that was lots of fun to eat, and tasty.
Service was beyond slow. 15 minutes to order cocktails, 20 minutes after that too arrive. Long time to order food, and yep long time to be brought to the table. Menu is overpriced. We had a party of six, for my mother’s 87th birthday.
We made a reservation on open table. We arrived and they told us the service was going to be slow due to other large parties. They were correct. The server was nice, but the food took forever. Anyway, we had a nice meal, but we were ravenous while we waited.
Our waitress was on it! pleasant and always there when needed. Food was great! Finally a great restaurant in this location !! How about some wild killer gourmet burgers that are always changing, specials on the menu type of thing.
Great food, good wine list, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
The service and food at Watersedge is first rate. Even better, the prices are more reasonable than most restaurants of this quality. The only drawback to the experience was the lack of adequate parking. We will be back.
Alex their new chef is amazing. Takes a few culinary risks. Walks around to introduce himself. Has taken the food up a few levels.
We often go here for lunch brunch and dinner and really like this restaurant. They were a bit overwhelmed on Valentine’s Day. Washing dishes in the back because they were running out. Wait staff was overwhelmed. We got charged for the clam chowder even though it was a choice on the price fixed menu. We ordered four priced fixed menus and got two deserts and two avacado appetizers instead of four which made it seem like we weren’t getting the full menu. My husband has several allergies and I called ahead and was assured there would be alternatives for him but there weren’t for a couple of the selections. Overall we will still keep coming here but probably not on Valentine’s Day.
The “heated” patio was far too cold for comfort. The soup was cold and the entrees just average. Price was much too high for what we received. Staff was friendly.
Took my wife here for valentines day, and found out they only had a special menu with minimal options. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to come to our table for the drink order. We had to ask for the drink menu so it took longer. We received the 2nd course after a little mor then an hour waiting. 10 minutes later we received the 1st course and they tried bringing the 3rd and 4th as well but they sent it back. 5 minutes later, received the 3rd and 4th course. And the 5th course about 12 mins later. We received alcohol pretty steady so that was nice. Overall, we spent over 200 with alcohol but the meal was about 150. We left hungry because the portions were pretty small. Needless to say, my wife and I were disappointed with our experience and will not return. Save your money and go get pizza and beer, thats what we did after we left.
I ordered a cup of soup and loved it. I also ordered lobster hush puppies and they were dried, fried corn meal. There was no lobster in them and no mushrooms.....they were horrible and cost $17. My husband had salmon and thought it was ok. Nothing was mentioned about our anniversary and I let open table know and mentioned it to our waitress. We order a slice of lemon cake and had to wait about 15 minutes for it. It was a very thin slice and charged us $10 for it!! Service was very slow but they were very understaffed so I can’t blame our waitress. All in all we spent over $115 and left the place never to return!!
The eggs and grits was not what I expected and the French toast needed some berries
We loved the Brussels Sprouts, ravioli with duck confit, prosciutto wrapped scallops. Delish! Always a great spot for a nice dinner out! Thanks! 💖
We were greeted very nicely upon entering the restaurant. Our table was ready. The waitstaff if friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Coco, the roving greeter/expediter, is friendly, polite, but they are terrific when they arrive. The chef, Alex, is a wonderful addition to this very nice restaurant. The food is fresh, locally sourced,& tasty.
We keep coming to Water's Edge to celebrate all the important events in our family. Anniversaries. And Engagements. Birthdays. Retirement. The food is great, the service commendable, our Celebration home!
We love the food and drinks at happy hour. However, it was way too loud for dinner. Husbands steak was delicious. Wife’s pork belly was too scant and there was an off putting beige sauce under it. Even though happy hour had ended, it was still deafeningly loud. We struggled to hear each other even though we sat 2-3 feet from each other. Great vistas and nice location.
I took my granddaughter on a date here and we had a wonderful time! It was the prefect location to watch the sunset over Ventura Harbor from our table by the window. The server was attentive all evening. And the food was fantastic. We started with the chorizo crab cakes, which were very tasty and perfectly done. Crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. My granddaughter had the filet mignon, which was excellent. Fortunately, the serving size was very generous so she shared a few bites with me! I had the halibut, which was also delicious. While the prices aren't cheap, it's a great special occasion restaurant. We will be back!
Water's Edge is my go-to place for brunch on the harbor. It's also my favorite place to bring my out of town guests. You can't beat the full view windows, outside seating, new brunch selections, and of course, bottomless mimosas. Service has always been great - prompt, courteous, and intuitive! Have been there for Happy Hour as well and the food, drink, and ambiance have always been super!
This is a difficult restaurant to review. Some aspects were outstanding, others simply awful. Let’s start out with the bad: the dining room was hopelessly noisy - conversation across out table was difficult. While we were seated quickly, we sat at our table for 10 minutes or so before we even got menus. It’s a seafood restaurant, for gosh sakes, and the first thing our server told us was that there were out of scallops and ravioli, 4 items in an 8 item seafood menu, at 7:00 in the evening on a Saturday night! We had to ask our server twice before we received water or the bread basket. When we finally got our entrees, they were stone cold.
On to the good: our drinks came quickly, and were excellent and generous. Our shared appetizer (stuffed mushrooms) and the (late coming) bread were delicious. The wine list was adequate, and not over priced. Our entrees (my wife had the duck ravioli, and I had the lamb meatball) were just simply superb - we sent back the cold ones, and they were promptly replaces with completely new plates - not reheated originals. We cleaned our plates of any leftover sauce with our remaining bread. And the restaurant gave us 10% off our food because of the temperature issue.
Overall, I’d probably not go there again.
Love the view's. Great Gainey chardonnay. Mussels and clams were described as a tomato broth but it was just a butter sauce
The dinner was great it was nice that the manager and the chef came out to see how the dinner was.
We will definitely return
This was the perfect venue for the first date with my new man. Romantic, lovely scenery and wonderful food. The only thing that we both remarked on is the acoustics could be better so as to reduce the noise level a bit. That being said, I would still highly recommend Water's Edge. We will be back!
Have been here a few time but not since the new menu. The menu was interesting and the food and flavors excellent. The prosciutto wrapped scallops were perfectly cooked and vey good. Halibut was cooked in a corn husk and while the flavors were very good, it was a tad dry.
Will be back!!!
Great dinner and wonderful ambience!
Enjoyable evening and the food fit the bill.
We had a 6:45 resv. Got seated at 7:50. Our friends had a 7 pm resv and were seated at 7:15. They checked in at 6. Were we expected to come at 5:45? Not right!!
Service was slow. Restaurant was packed.
You’re paying for the view and the atmosphere. The portions are small and expensive. They try to be fine dining but it’s more like diner food on the water. The server was kind but the food was slow. The cocktails are cheap but they taste like octane.
We really enjoyed having dinner at the Water's Edge. Overall the staff was attentive and the food was excellent. The location is perfect with a beautiful view of the harbor. If you're vegetarian, the Everything Squash was extremely yummy!
The same 4 people ate at Water’s Edge last year, which is why we went back. In comparison it was not near as good. We all had the Caesar’s Salad. They said the anchovies were in the salad and there was not even a hint of them. We were charged $3.00 to split a salad. Two in our party got the Duck confit ravioli which they described as tasteless. The service was good, but it was very noisy. We will probably look for another for the four os next time
Wonderful. Love this place.
