Absolutely loved the food! Went with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and was not disappointed. The staff congratulated us when seated as well as when waiting on us! The gazpacho was unique and loved the flavor! The boulabasse was a large portion with a fantastic taste. The creme brûlée was very flavorful and I have tried many in past. Great unique cocktails and lots of whine to chose from. I would highly recommend dining at Watermark!!!! We actually were there the last evening open at that location. Appears they are telocating to the new Bridgestone building in December. I know if I am visiting Nashville , I will definitely go to the new location. It was a wonderful experience!!! Thanks for helping us celebrate out 21st!!!!
Our waiter was amazing. Food and drinks were delicious and the rooftop dining you can't beat! Wish we would have learned of this place sooner!
From the minute we dropped the car off at the valet station until we were seated we were welcomed and treated to friendliness. The four of us ordered off the restaurant week menu. I had the salmon, my wife had steak and our friends both had chicken. All dishes were excellent in taste and presentation. Our waitress was friendly and efficient without being overbearing. Desserts were good, chocolate cake and creme brûlée. Coffee was poor but we weren't charged for it.
The staff were very attentive from the woman who seated us to the service staff. We chose from Restaurant Week menu and it was all delicious. We did not have to wait long for our food and could not have been more pleased with the experience.
Great restaurant and service. Be mindful this place will be shutting down soon as it is going to move into the Bridgestone bldg.
I went with a friend for Restaurant Week and the special menu was varied and represented a great value. The service was excellent as well as the food. I'm looking forward to having Watermark relocate to the new Bridgestone headquarters at 4th and Demonbreun across the street from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
The restaurant was what I consider fine dining, but the staff was very friendly and down to earth...not always the case at restaurants like this. That alone would make me want to go back. We went during restaurant week and ordered the prix fixe menu. We were worried that the portions would be smaller than ordering off menu, but they were huge! Lastly, the food was incredible! We will definitely be back!
Excellent service. Great ambiance-we sat out on the patio which was delightful. The food was good but not outstanding. I had the grouper meunière - a special. But there wasn't much of a meunière sauce and it was a bit overcooked and dry. An ok wine list. But we would go back for a second try.
Everything was going well, then my medium rare steak came out almost well. Either the kitchen didn't check the temperature or they checked it and didn't care. Neither is acceptable. No one acknowledged it from front of house or back. Zilch. Acted like nothing happened. Took it off the check though, so that's good I guess. I settled up and left a generous (imo) 30% tip. When I mentioned to our server that someone should have visited our table, she was indignant. The hostess (Tonya? Also the best employee we encountered, btw) insisted on having the manager speak to me. The manager seemed dumbfounded we were meeting. She eventually told me my steak was correct and that I must have seen it differently because of the lighting. Nevermind the fact that I took my cell phone flashlight to it before I decided to abstain. She said they would comp it anyway. After a back and forth, she said she actually still had the steak the server returned. I was anxious to see this steak, so I followed her back upstairs. The steak she said the server brought back to the kitchen was not my steak. The steak she showed me was indeed medium rare. (same cell phone flashlight...) If they had brought me that steak, I would have eaten it gleefully! Either the management lied, or our server did. Our server then happened back by and insisted that I was seeing things. To which I demanded my 30% tip back. (I know, I know...)
Long story short, if a restaurant with 50% capacity cannot send out a decent medium rare steak, I'm out. If the kitchen made it right according to the ticket and it was the servers fault, I'm out. If the management and staff presume the client is stupid and can't tell medium rare from well done, I'm out. Save yourself the trouble and visit Kayne or Ruby's.
We had a girls' reunion, and your restaurant was recommended as being close to the James. First of all, we had a wonderful meal and perfect service, and the young lady with whom I spoke in reservations was helpful, gracious and polite. The only concern I have is that I received an email chastising me for not cancelling a reservation. I would like to explain the mixup. I originally tried to make the reservation for 7:309 on Open Table, but I was unable to so I decided to split us up 3 at one table and 4 at the next and was successful. Then I called to ask if we could be seated at two tables near each other and she said she could put us all at one table which was wonderful. We WERE all there, but at one table. I was told the other one was cancelled.
Our waiter Rory was really great! Very attentive and personable. Scallops were wonderful as well as the cocktails. Didn't leave room for dessert but they sounded tasty. My husband had salmon and he said it was a hot dry but good flavor. Would definitely go back.
We haven't eaten at Watermark in years as we have been exploring all the new places that have popped up. This is a crime! No other new restaurants have topped our experience at the Watermark!
We had the scallops and the lamb tenderloin and we were BLOWN away with the flavor combinations. They were absolutely remarkable!
Excellent service, great atmosphere-we will be back! Especially for those SCALLOPS!
My wife and I each had steaks, I had the ribeye and she had the filet. Both were very flavorful however my medium rare was closer to medium. At one point my wife's water was empty and that never happen. The waiter was very friendly and we enjoyed talking with him but he needed to pay closer attention to us. Overall the atmosphere is modern and bare and our dining room was literally an empty room with tables. I have no complaints about the taste or the portion sizes but for the price I expect a little more of everything.
Scott is a wonderful waiter, very engaging!
Great food!
This is a great, upscale restaurant for special occasions, gathering with friends and entertaining guests. The space is inviting and tastefully decorated. The wait staff is impeccable. Wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary.
The restaurant was wonderful in terms of food and ambiance but our server Matt and hostess Tonya made the experience that much more exceptional. They both provided great service.
The fish was disappointing...not fresh enough, not flaky, too dry. Everything else was beautiful.
Fabulous! We have been trying most all the fine dining restaurants in Nashville this year. The Watermark was just as good as the really expensive ones! We chose the grits souffle as an appetizer and it was excellent! The wedge salad was fresh and delicious. We chose the filet and lobster as our main course and it was awesome!!! Dining outside was perfect and our waiter was very attentive. Value for money was great! Last week we dined at twice the cost and was not nearly as good! Will have to give this one 5 stars!!
Enjoyed, but was taken aback by $12.00 valet parking. Many other restaurants downtown have free valet. Especially given the cost for this restaurant.
Took my husband out for a date....it was perfect! The staff were kind, engaging, and prompt! The only thing I would have changed was the music...but that comes down to taste!
Good food, but service timing was very poor and rushed. Main course came out less than 5 minutes after appetizer.
Ate on the Veranda. Very enjoyable. Food was excellent.
The food was excellent. The waitress put the wrong order in but they recovered and we didn't have to wait long for the correction.
Great way to celebrate our anniversary. Outstanding service from the moment we checked in and told them the name on our reservation. Staff made us feel welcome and like we belonged, even though we rarely visit such expensive restaurants. The cocktail to start things off, a double old fashion might have been the best part of the night. The dessert, creme brulee, certainly sealed the deal.
It was a nice cool summer evening and very nice on their upstairs patio. The food was good, the service was great. A very nice dinner. I hope they can duplicate things when they go to the Bridgestone Bldg.
Very nice restaurant highly recommend. Best steak that I have had in a very long time. Service was outstanding
I took my daughter to Watermark celebrating her 29th birthday. We enjoyed cocktails, oysters, chicken, & scallops. We needed to leave so we wouldn't miss TPAC & didn't have time for a birthday dessert. Waitress put the dessert on my Open Table Reservation for next time. She also gave my daughter a candle & chocolate to go.
Great service Matt. Food was pretty good.
We liked it overall
Birthday Celebration for my wife. The team at Watermark did a great job! Service and food were excellent. Chris was the ultimate waiter, knew the menu and his recommendations were spot on. Do not miss the grits souffle starter. This is our new special occasion place
Nice Restaurant and somewhere I would go to a couple of times a year.
The service was good and the food presentation was excellent.
I felt it was a little expensive for the level of food they serve.
Ate inside but would like to try their outdoor dining
Valet parking is recommended and area is safe for walking
Amazing food, excellent wait staff. A satisfying dining experience. Don't pass on the crab cake appetizer, or the grit soufflé
.
Couldn't have had a better time at Watermark, the food was unbelievable, and our waiter was very personable as well as informed. I had the Halibut special and my girlfriend had the 16oz Grilled Ribeye, and neither of us could decide which was better.
Great food. The fish was excellent and we enjoyed the desert.
Wonderful food, fantastic staff, great location and quiet environment! Amazing
We found Watermark Restaurant via the OpenTable app due to being on business in Nashville. The setting was very nice and trending. The service was excellent. My wife's dish, the chicken, was not that good. It looked like it was served in a watered down vegetable soup. I ordered the special, the halibut. It was fantastic.
I would recommend going to the Watermark Restaurant to check it out for yourself.
Enjoyable evening! We celebrated our wedding anniversary. My husband got the Grouper and thought it was really good! I got the Bouillabaisse which was just OK, nothing special. We enjoyed our server.
Lamb was on point!
We just moved to Nashville. I've been wanting to try Watermark since we moved here because the reviews were so great. My girlfriends and I went for my birthday on Friday and this restaurant did not disappoint! Food was so delicious! Presentation was beautiful! I ordered the grits souffle and shared it with my girlfriends and we all moaned with satisfaction! So yummy, I would absolutely recommend ordering the grits souffle. I also ordered one of the specials, which was a filet with lobster and Bearnaise sauce. I switched the side for the whipped potatoes. I practically licked the plate! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Watermark and can't wait to go back.
Always surprises again and again...forget how good it is! Looking forward to the new location, décor getting a bit tired. Great terrace bt need a great bar adjacent to it to enjoy view and a bite or starter cocktail.
