great food friendly staff. Quiet establishment available out of bar area.
I want to like this place. Service was decent and everyone was kind and welcoming. People who looked like managers/owners checked on us two times. Food was honestly not good. Strip steak was super salty to the point of inedible. The room is pretty and deserves a better kitchen staff.
We visited Waterman's Tavern for the first time to attend the "Flying Ivories" dueling pianos show. We drove down from north Jersy. The show was outstanding, and my girlfriend and I had a GREAT time.
The food was also excellent - we loved everything we ordered - several appetizers, salads, and entrees. The French Onion soup was great, too.
Our server was a young lady (I think her name was Danielle??) who gave us great service along with her big smile. Her recommendations were spot on.
We had a wonderful evening. We'll be back!
Onion soup lukewarm..for.2 people. Mac and cheese tasteless. Cheeseburger was just ok. French fries good. The booth by the side door...was freezing when someone opened the door..eek avoid sitting there
Great food and service! Waitress was very nice!
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food.
Would definitely go back
Family get together. Everyone raved about their dinner!
The short rib is fabulous!
Food was very good. Service was excellent. Would definitely go back again. Very noisy though. Even though it was not crowed.
Very limited menu, onion soup was served with overcooked cheese. Eggplant rollitini was served with tasteless pasta sauce. French dip burger was also not very good. Won’t return. Very disappointed
Food is Always Excellent..will keep going back.
Great menu and wonderful service. We feel that this place is very under-rated.
Lots of GF options from meat to fish to apps to desserts. Specials and entertainment available during the week. Would 100% return and would 100% recommend to our friends.
Loved our Christmas Eve meal. Seven fishes meals were delicious the rest of us enjoyed rack of lamb and filet mignon; all cooked perfectly. Always love starting our meal with the onion soup too. Desserts were lovely as well. Meals timed nicely and our server was a pleasure. On of our local favorites and our out of town parents enjoyed as well. I also have celiac disease and appreciate the ability to eat a GF meal safely.
I had the feast of the 7 fishes. 1st course was mussels, clams oreganata and calamari. All were good but the calamari stood out, it was cooked to perfection and the breading was light enough to not over power the calamari. 2nd course was a crab cake, again breaded to perfection, with plenty of crab meat. A wonderful and tasty sauce topped by flavorful greens. The final course was grilled swordfish finished with capers and a very nice sauce, seared scallops, shrimp scampi all served with roasted parmesan potatoes and vegetables. Dessert was NY style cheese cake. The wait staff was very attentive food was prompt, but not rushed.
The appetizer specials were fantastic. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. Steaks were cooked perfectly.
Every restaurant in a 2 mile radius is packed, but Waterman’s is half empty. Ambiance, it has none. Service questionable. Only saving grace was the food was good. Compliments to the chef. The place needs a face lift and probably new management. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be back anytime soon and we only live 5 minutes away.
Pam our waitress was outstanding. Thanks
terrific food and great service!
Food was excellent and the room we sat in was very nice. The service was horrible!
Probably a bad evening to go. It was music bingo night and only the bar area was open, not the main dining room. Therefore it was loud and understaffed. Obviously,we were not playing the game! I may try it again on a regular night.
Food and service was wonderful
We had a family birthday brunch and had a wonderful time! The food was creative and delicious!! The staff was kind and attentive. Looking forward to going back!
The service was poor. We did not get one of our entrees and the manager was horrible. Do not recommend.
First time trying Waterman's Tavern. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. French Onion Soup was perfect and the short rib mac and cheese was excellent. We liked it so much we went back for brunch the next day and the Sunday Brunch was outstanding. The Prime Rib Eggs Benedict, that my husband had, was original and delicious. The Blueberry Lemon Pancakes were amazing too.
We were greeted by Randall and escorted to the table of our choice.
Our waiter was fantastic as was the food. We will be back all Winter for Sunday Brunch!
We also ordered menu selections to bring home for dinner!
Food ok. Service poor. We ordered steaks, rack of lamb, shrimp, grey goose martinis. We were here for a nice dinner! One dinner (rack of lamb) delivered 35 minutes later than the rest. They forgot to serve the brussel sprouts and the Mac and cheese entree. I discreetly spoke to manager since our check was $300. He said he would handle it. Check came and there was no adjustment nor did management come over to ask us about our experience. After bill came I discreetly went to speak with manager and this time I got another manager (female) and then a 3rd manager came over. Not one of them apologized or offered anything. They probed me on the quality of the food and how often I dine there. I explained I have been there for burgers and sushi but wanted to treat my friends to a “nice” dinner so we chose Watermans. Management very rude. Food was just ok. Room very noisy. I will never go there again because of how rude the management was. Servers did a fine job. We were patient bc of understanding the shortage of employees but there is no excuse for rude and nasty managers. I have no problem spending $300 or so for a nice dinner. Never go to Watermans. Nasty management!
You wanted a table in a room that was fully booked and we accommodated you. We apologized for the rack of lamb timing, but you insisted on free items and then threatened to “stiff the server.” You also claimed you had never been here before. When asked about the issue, you got defensive and said you wouldn't be back. Three managers spoke to you and all got the same attitude. The “noisy room” was a dueling pianos show and you requested that. We agree that you should dine elsewhere going forward.
We weren’t expecting the restaurant week menu. We did take advantage of it though. The appetizers and dinners were excellent. The place was busy(good to see) we will definitely be back to have dinner with the regular menu. We have eaten here serval times with mix results. Management was on a top of helping out the wait staff with refilling water and clear. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I had two of the best burgers we’ve ever had! We’ll most definitely be back! Great service too!
The food was excellent & the service was as well. My only criticism is the bread, it was terrible. A very big disappointment to someone who loves bread.
Under a previous name, this restaurant used to have a decent dining room area, but now that seems to be closed off and only used for private parties. The rest of the place is just a loud noisy bar with little to no atmosphere. On the bright side the food was delicious.
Service was off. Drinks were not made correctly. Steak came overcooked. Dessert called the orchard looked liked something a child would make. Would not go back! Very nice venue, unfortunately needs help in the kitchen and wait staff.
A wonderful experience. Great food.
Loved our server. The food was delicious and had lots of great options on the restaurant week menu. The only drawback was the level of noise in the room we were in.
Entrees arrived cold. The food was good but it was barely warm.
It was Jersey Shore Restaurant Week and they had a great menu, and food was delicious! Pam served us and was great! We will be back!
Service was amazing and the food was delicious. Their wine selection is limited but the speciality drinks made up for that. Highly recommend.
Went for jersey shore restaurant week. Food and service were fantastic
Went for Jersey Shore Restaurant week. Had the French onion soup, surf and turf (6 oz fillet mignon and two shrimp) with mashed potatoes, two small carrots and broccolini. Dessert was an apple cider donut with cream, cooked apples with walnuts. Food was very good, but servings were small. Took advantage of happy hour, $5 glass of red wine. Also had a nice bread basket. We sat in the restaurant area which was quiet, but there was a lively bar area with large screen tv.
We went for jersey shore restaurant week. Food was delish, waitress was attentive. It was busy and fun
