Waterlot Inn - Fairmont Southampton
Our first dinner in Bermuda was at the Waterlot Inn. It surpassed all of our expectations. Coming from NYC, we have some pretty high expectations for steak. This place is the real deal. Their steaks are juicy and tender, have a thin crisp seat on the outside, and are perfectly cooked on the inside. They are so well dry aged that you don’t need any seasoning beyond the little bit of salt and pepper that it comes with. For starters, the escargot or the Bermuda fish soup are just right, and don’t miss the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The service is friendly and very professional. They will accommodate your every need.
high end dining with high end service and exceptional food....not inexpensive but worth every penny
Had dinner at Waterlot Inn. Was very excited to have dinner seei g reviews. Inside is lovely with comfy chairs. OBrian was our waiter. He was great. Food was good. Husband and sons had steak sampler and yellowfin. Said it was amazing. I had filet Oscar. It was good. Not amazing. Had apple galette for dessert. Had to use steak knife to cut it. Finally gave up and left it. Do reccommend this place
30th Anniversary dinner ... great atmosphere, service and food!
The scallops are inedible, sent them back. Would recommend the filet and the salmon. They speak so softly that it's hard to understand what they're saying. Had to dispute charges on the check. Would not go there again. Disappointed.
Amazing food and place and service!
It was a great meal. The restaurant has a real elegant Bermuda vibe. I particularly enjoyed the patio after dinner
We loved everything about this place.
The Waterlot Inn Restaurant was outstanding. It was our second time dining there, if I lived in Bermuda, I would go more often.
We’ve really enjoyed the Waterlot Inn in the past, and it is a special place to us as a couple as well. We went with our family group once on this trip to Bermuda, and we were put at a table too small for comfort, were delayed over 30 minutes past our reservation, and we had horrible service. My boyfriend and I got engaged on the trip and wanted to try it again, but unfortunately we had bad service (threw away our left overs - over half a steak each- and forgot our coffees with dessert, which they brought after we had already finished our dessert and inquired about it). We also asked for a taxi, which they didn’t call and 20 minutes later came to discover (still requiring an additional 15 minute wait). Not worth spending over $800 for a special engagement dinner to have below par service and no compensation for the mistakes.
The restaurant dropped the ball!! It was our 40th wedding anniversary, did not even acknowledge it. You had advanced notification! Put us and honeymooners near a very large, extremely noisy group!! How inconsiderate!! And, the worst part, we honeymooned there 40 years ago! Thanks for nothing! Will not come back!! Steak was over cooked, and food was luke warm! And, you charged us for that!!
Vacation meal. Cool spot. Waiters were great. Old school menu—-not for the light/health conscious folks. Toffee pudding dessert rocked (afraid to ask calories/amount of butter). Plan to do burpees all the way to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse the next morning.
Outstanding and very professional service at this establishment. Had been 27 years since we ate here, and the high standard remains. Food is a combination of traditional steak fare, combined with local accent. Restaurant is a la carte, so it can get pricey, but worth the expense for quality dining experience. Located on the water, it has fantastic views of sunset. Our waiter, Barrington was very attentive and personable.
Fantastic restaurant. The service, food and ambiance are hard to beat.
From start to finish the employees here treat you like royalty. When we enter we were greeted and taken right to our seats. We sat by the window with a beautiful view of the water. Our server was Barington and he was fantastic!!! He explained the menu to us and then gave us time to decide what we wanted. I started out with a ceasar salad which was made table side and my husband started out with lobster bisque. We both ordered steak, asparagus, and twice baked potato.the food was fantastic! Barington was fantastic!
great food and service, but it smells so old and musty in there it was hard for me to concentrate on anything else. it just wasn't what i was expecting.
Service was excellent. Food was excellent except for filet mignon which was a little dry. We tried a side which was called sweet potatoes with a glaze. We thought it would be a mashed type of potato, but it was wedges that were dry. The restaurant did remove the item from the bill though after I mentioned it to them which was nice of them.
Exceptional service and while pricey worth the expende
Great food! Great experience! One of our best meals we ever had!
Best meal of our stay with window overlooking the dock. Lobster bisque, the Waterlot Oscar (tenderloin medallions with crab cake) and the best onion rings! Then Magical nightcap outside listening to live music!
Wait staff and bar staff were excellent. Our steaks were only average but still good
Our waiter Rawdon was outstanding and our entire experience was great. We’ll definitely be back here to eat next time we visit this beautiful island.
The food was amazing! Lobster Bisque, filet mignon, au gratin potato’s, carrots and toffee pudding prepared to perfection! Ambience was quiet and peaceful, service was excellent! I would highly recommend the Waterlot. From start to finish it was a first class dining experience!
Service was impeccable, food was everything we expected, a great way to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary.
Amazing food and service! Definitely plan to return!
Make Sure to ask for the most amazing Christian.
Attention to detail, knowledge, recommendations.
Makes a great Restaurant into a memorable resto experience.
Maître D , Vincent & Mgr Lloyd adding to overall experience- perfection
The best overall meal/experience on the island. The steaks from Iowa are outstanding. Service impeccable and will make a point to eat here during each visit.
Wonderful meal, truly spectacular.
Absolute perfection. Amazing location and unbelievable dining experience...Our second time there, we will go whenever we are in Bermuda!
We celebrated our anniversary dinner. Greeted by our host, he escorted us to the lounge as we awaited escort to our table. Everyone was friendly and formal... addressing us by name and congratulating us on our anniversary. Barrington, our waiter, was friendly, pleasant, knowledgable and attentive. The Waterlot has an eclectic seafarer decor, having been built 400 years ago, with an interesting history involving captain kidd and claudia Darrell, whose ghost is said to still be there helping. The sommelier swears she's turned the lights on for him. The ala cartel menu was fantastic, from the parmesan or wheat popovers with artisan butter to cesar salad made tableside to the choice cuts of meat. My wife had the tasting trio: waygu striploin, rib eye and Angus filet mignon and I had the dry aged ny strip. Cooked to perfection. Sides of broccolini and augratin potatoes. We were satiated and no room for dessert. Wish we did as the menu was very tempting.
Outstanding service, food, and ambiance. The experience carries a hefty price tag for sure but, in our opinion was well worth it.
If you’re looking for a spot for a special occasion or business dinner and have the means, we would highly recommend.
Fabulous restaurant and part of the Fairmont Southampton. Set in a very old inn, the building has enough nooks and crannies so that a quiet conversation can be had. Very professional staff and the menu is sublime with great choices of meats, fish and fowl. The table side preparation of a Caesar salad was nice touch. This is a dress up event, so please, no jeans or shorts, fellow diners. Spectacular desserts!
Fine dining and a trolley ride from The Fairmont Southampton. Food and wine were spot on. Service was formal with an island twist - enjoyable. Outdoor entertainment at The Dock (first come first serve seating). The Fairmont might want to take some lessons about customer experience from this place.
Exquisite dining in a beautiful old waterfront home.
Saved this restaurant for our last dinner in Bermuda and I am glad we did because this restaurant is the best place in Bermuda in our opinion.
First thing out of the waiter’s mouth was that they were out of several items. Food was good but very overpriced. Drinks had to be sent back due to lack of adequate alcohol. A nice place and we liked our waiter even though in the middle of taking our order he excused himself to deliver food to another table and then bring a check to a third table. At half the price maybe we would go back.
We came here twice during our stay. A lovely restaurant with continental menu and fish specialties. I had halibut and swordfish. My husband had lamb chops and porterhouse steak.the waiters are outstanding. They say jackets requested and my husband brought one but 1 man walked in with shorts and a tee shirt !!if you aren’t going to enforce a dress code don’t have one!! There were a few noisy children and diners around me were surprised they were there.overall the best restaurant at the Fairmont !!!
Fantastic restaurant with delicious food options for all foodies with a cozy romantic quiet atmosphere with views and ambience.. amazing table service with great cocktail options and execution.. overall fabulous environment with scrumptious meal for date night
Outstanding Dining Experience!!!
Our server , "Jai", was very helpful and provided excellent service. The quality of the food was superb. We were celebrating our 35th Wedding anniversary and the entire staff made it a very memorable occasion. As one of the staff members stated we correctly "saved the best for last" on our last night at the Fairmont.
