Waterline Ratings and Reviews
Friendly and warm welcoming, it gets busy at the start of Brunch , was waiting for our waiter that why its called ‘waiter’ he said, with sense of humor. Foods are great! With free bday sweets for the bday celebrant, great! Just one fly flying freely at our table lol.
Everyone so warm! Good place.
Beautiful location in the Balboa Bay Club, right on the waterfront! Service was adequate, not outstanding. Food was good, not a huge menu but I had the salmon special which was delicious. The ambiance is what is fantastic. We ate outside and would definitely go again. Lovely.
Both me and my friend were celebrating our birthdays. We came for breakfast on a Saturday and sat outside. We must have sat there a good ten minutes before we were even acknowledged and another five minutes waiting for a menu. I ordered eggs Benedict with potatoes. The eggs Benedict was good but now outstanding. The potatoes were very tasty. The coffee wasn't as good as I had remembered it. The ambiance on the harbor was delightful and we had heat lamps on both sides of us. I recommend for special occasions as they bring a platter with various treats: a few chocolates, a French Macaroon, a chocolate covered strawberry. This was a nice ending to the morning and for that reason I plan to come back on another special occasion.
Myself and two of my girlfriends went for brunch. The service from the moment you arrive is great. The valet parking team was so polite and helpful. The resort is beautiful. It was a Wednesday at 10 and we had almost here whole restaurant to ourselves. It was perfect. We sat on the patio right Infront of all the beautiful yachts, the weather was perfect. They also have heaters they can turn on for each table if need. The waiters were supreme. They even place the napkin in your lap. The food was fantastic. We ordered crab eggs Benedict. It was great! And my other friend ordered the veggie omelet. She said she really enjoyed her plate as well. There was a manager for the resort named Herve. He was wonderful. So helpful and even though we were not guests of the hotel he still treated us like we were royalty. I loved the whole experience and will be coming back.
The Sunday Brunch was outstanding with a buffet style cold appetizer and dessert bar and wait service delivering the warm entree of your choosing. My choice for the entree was a healthy and delicious egg white frittata. The buffet offered a huge assortment of all of my favorites: several types of scones, lots of delicious seafood (crab claws, shrimp, and oysters), a huge variety of cheeses and meats, and scrumptious desserts.
We were celebrating Fathers' Day and sat outside. The view and atmosphere is perfect for all ages but on that day it was a bit cool. However, after reaching out to the staff, and reminding them, they moved an outdoor heater to our table and gave us a shawl for my daughter.
The service was good but not outstanding. Perhaps it's because it was a busy weekend. However, we still left very happy and look forward to returning soon.
Beautiful setting with an attractive cold buffet with shrimp, crab, cheese, artisan breads, and luscious desserts for brunch. I like that the hot dishes are ordered from the menu so they are cooked specifically for diners. Unlimited mimosas and/or champagne was a nice touch! Glad we discovered this place which is actually part of a hotel.
The worst service, food was cold and ill prepared.
And it's hard to mess a breakfast up...
No one knows how to serve food nor present a table. Socially uneducated people working there.
Hostess was half asleep and rude at 10:00 am?. Wait staff extremely unprofessional and at times no where to be found.
Over priced waist of time ...
Apparently, affluence is considered by those employees to mean unappreciated patrons, I don't care, whatever, huh?, what do you need now? I wish these people would quit asking for more coffee, a fork, a napkin, or hey how about food they waited over an hour for and it came out cold...
PATHETIC... go somewhere else.
Incredible and unique! We both ordered the seabass. Perfectly prepared and absolutely the best I've EVER had. Unique presentation. It came in a plastic bag. Inside were mussels, clams, potatoes, tomatoes, herbs, and an awesome lemon sauce to die for. They cut open the bags and the aroma was beautiful. Gr8 presentation for soaking up EVERY BIT of the juices. As this was our maiden voyage here, We will definitely return.
The restaurant is beautiful and very scenic as it is directly on the bay. Yachts are anchored within a stone's throw. There are outside tables with heaters and they will even lend you a shawl or a gorgeous dining room with every seat having a view and fresh flowers. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented with great service. It was perfect and very relaxing. Fine dining at it's best.
My family of three went for a pre-Mother's Day lunch on Saturday. The staff was pleasant and fairly attentive. The appetizers and desserts were delicious but all three of our entrees were either cooked incorrectly or overdressed. In retrospect, we should've sent them back instead of barely eating them. My halibut was so overcooked that it looked and tasted like very dry chicken. The total bill was $200 for three (including a $40 bottle of wine) and while the ambiance was nice, it was the most underwhelming meal I've had in years. I've written off the entire experience as typically overpriced bad food due to a nice view.
We dined on a quite mid week evening. While not an extensive menu, there was sufficient choice. Everything we had and everything we saw come out the kitchen was beautifully cooked and presented. I read a few comments about slow service. I'm sure if one wished to dine quickly they would be happy to accommodate. We were happy to enjoy a meal without being rushed.
Recently celebrated my birthday here and arrived at 5:30 when the restaurant opened for the evening. Except for the fog, the entire evening was perfect. The food was very tasty and the service was the best I've had in a long time. The prices on the open table menu are lower than what is currently being charged so keep in mind you'll pay a few dollars more. I look forward to trying out the brunch in the future. Valet parking is the only option but it is validated.
We reserved a table for four at 1:00 PM on a Saturday. The restaurant was lightly filled. Our table overlooked the patio and marina. We started with the fried avocado appetizer for the table (yummy). Two people had the lobster salad, one the halibut BLT, and another the crab cakes. The food was exceptional, the service equally so. A great place for conversation. We lingered (talking) after the check with zero pressure from the staff. A bonus: covered valet parking. Very handy for rainy days (which it was). Altogether, a terrific spot for catching up with friends.
Was trying this on valentines Night, big mistake, we eat here often, but the night was too big for the restaurant, my salmon came out not cooked after I was for cooked all the way thru, mushroom soup, was tasty but room temp at best, and service was very slow, the other three diners in our group, enjoyed their food.
