I ordered the Steak Frites. The steak was a horrible cut of meat and literally less than 1/2 inches thick. I've purchased and prepared better steaks from Wal Mart. I asked for it to be medium rare and my first steak came well done. The flavor was ok but the steak was touch and full of fat and gristle. The waitress immediately noted that the steak was not medium rare and offered a new steak, (which is great customer service). She brought me a new steak, even though I said I'd go ahead and eat the first one. The second steak came and the center was medium rare but the ends were still well done. There was almost no sear on the steak. The first steak actually tasted better but it is absolutely not a high quality steak. You could find a better steak, literally, in a Denny's restaurant.
My wife had the PBBLT sandwich. Pork Belly, Bacon, Lettuce and tomato. It was pretty good but again, not great. Probably worth the money but certainly nothing out of the ordinary.
For an appetizer we had the shrimp. They were really good and both of us enjoyed them and we would recommend them.
The Service was below average other than her insisting to bring me another steak. After she brought me back the other steak we sat there without being checked on for the entire meal. Didn't get offered any additional drinks etc. We waited, after being finished, for our check for at least 10 minutes. We did not get any discount on the steak meal even though it was clear that 75% of it didn't get eaten. We aren't the type to ask for discounts so maybe that's on us but an astute waitress would have offered or asked.
The atmosphere is fine. The drinks were ok. The table water was Luke warm. The prices would be fine if the food were better.

Hotel restaurant. Good food, reasonable beer selection and friendly staff. Wish the description mentioned it was in hotel. Looking for bit more local feel but cool vibe and nice happy hour.

Modern set-up with the most ridiculous uncomfy seating. The server was very sweet to bring a actual banquet chair that actually had support. The only decent items were the appetizers, rest of the meal was downhill. Wont recommend or revisit.
Waterleaf has a great chef who really knows how to prepare delicious and interesting meals. On the night we were there the Seahawks were playing and the staff seemed distracted, so service was sometimes slow. But our family had a great time, and ended up catching the tail end of a very exciting game. The steelhead and the risotto were especially good. We will be back.

My braised short rib was delicious, but my companion's steelhead was inedibly salty. Her choice of appetizer had run out and the alternative, while good, was not as preferable. Then the prices we were charged were from the regular menu rather than for Seattle Restaurant Week. They still have some learning to do.
Staff was friendly but service was slow. Restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived so we were surprised by the slow service. Took almost an hour to receive our appetizers. Food was good but not amazing.
Pleasantly surprise to find a hotel restaurant with such good food.
Amazing bargain on the happy hour menu. Food was delicious and service friendly. Highly recommend
This is the worst restaurant I have eaten at ever. The food took almost an hour to come out of the kitchen even though there we were only one of 2 tables there. When it did come out the chicken wings were raw with stale breading. The tuna was over cooked and the salad was not fresh. The dressing was tasteless and the food overall wasn’t properly seasoned. Yuck 🤮

The restaurant was out of a lot of drink and food options.
Food was very greasy, avocado was black in my burrito, overall not much flavor. The service was great, but food needs work. There’s not much for breakfast places nearby, but they have potential to be decent, just wasn’t executed well.
Very inappropriate group for this setting allowed to swear and be very obnoxious.
We do Seattle Restaurant Week every year, and this is our first bad experience. The restaurant is more like a sports bar and pretty pricey. We got the Mad Hatcher chicken, which was a giant black lump. It was tender and juicy inside, but the crust was awful - overcooked and tasteless, with a hint of raw flour. The carrots it came with were still raw. My fish tacos were okay (have had better at a street cart), but the huge slice of pineapple in each one was unwieldy. The dessert of scones and strawberries was passable, altho the scones were dry lumps. The server didn't know anything about the wines and wasn't sure they had any of them; fortunately, my companion knew something and we had a nice bottle of Sol Stone Grenache. Not on our list of places to try again.
Our Server Chris was excellent...too bad the food wasn't. My partners risotto was just risotto rice, it wasn't creamy and the dish lacked any sauce. It was just rice, chicken and sauteed pears. We could have done that at home. I had the fish and it was typical to what you could get at Red Robin, just fried fish. Nothing fancy or awesome about it. We for sure didn't feel like the $60 price tag on dinner and a drink was worth it with how plain the food was.
Nicely creative recipes, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. I'll be back.
New Year’s Eve dinner. The restaurant felt exposed right off the hotel lobby and entrance. It was quite cold. The food was good and service friendly.
We went on Christmas day and there wasn't hardly anyone there. Simple menu . Nice waitress.
Not many places to eat out on Christmas. More of a bar/cafe. Food was good. There was a lot of Asian food we will try next time.

It was so loud in there we couldn’t hear the people sitting right next to us. The food was mediocre at best, and although the wait staff was great, we’re never going back
Visited Waterleaf during restaurant week for lunch. My friend had the kale caesar (blackened kale but looked like normal kale to us) and pork cheeks with collard greens + polenta, which my friend did not seem to enjoy. Apparently it was too spicy for her. I had the spicy artichoke + spinach dip, which was spicy as advertised, and the truffle gnocchi that did not taste much like truffle. Both were very cheesy and heavy so I was unable to finish them. (Gave leftovers to my friend so not sure how they reheated.) Someone came to check-in on us, I'm guessing he was the chef. Really nice touch.
We went for the Seattle Restaurant week experience. Their menu was good but we ended up ordering off the Happy hour menu. Our group ordered about everything. Everything was very good. The serving sizes were large for happy hour. The service was great. My one complaint was they were out of two beers, two vodkas, and two menu items we wanted. I still think it is worth a try. Hope they work out inventory kinks.
Food was great but it took a while to come out. Great value for lunch during restaurant week! I'd come back again for it!
A somewhat better than average overall experience, with a couple of areas that need improvement.
* guests should be greeted and seated as soon as they arrive at the entrance. I waited more than 5 minutes while servers and a bartender paid no attention to me.
* while the food is creative and delicious, the time between ordering and serving food is long. On a lunch hour. or if one were dining with children, this slow service would be problematic.
Seems like still feeling out their overall scene and filling out the bar and their staff. Good food.
We had a great evening - the live music was good! Little loud at time for as small of of space they were in. Great Drinks - 👍🏻
Crabcakes, Wagyu bacon burger and prawn salad dish were all excellent. Espresso cheesecake was not to my taste but others would probably like it. I thought lunch was quite expensive but it was a lot of food for two people. That being said, it tasted much better than I would expect too - so I would definitely go back. There was only one waitress on duty, so we had to seat ourselves (since no one every greeted us) and she was also covering room service, so service was a little slow - but she did check in and explain when she was going to be away for awhile. Given the circumstances, she did the best she could. Unfortunately, although set, the table we chose for ourselves did have some crumbs left on the table. It obviously had been used before and not wiped good - just re-set. For a new restaurant still working out the kinks, this was a good lunch and we will be back!

My team attended Waterleaf for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The only thing we were not expecting is the very small portions. The price you pay for the size of the meal that you get does not balance. Overall good and we will be back.
My first time at the restaurant which wasn’t busy at 11:30. While the food was good, the service could have been better since there was only a few tables. We had a male server and his attentiveness to our table of 4 should have been better. He didn’t know the soup and sandwich of the day so he had to go back to kitchen to review. Not the best first impression but we would come back again based on the food.
Apparently they never checked off my reservation because Open Table asked "Why I didn't show up for my reservation". I absolutely showed up for my reservation. They forgot to put in the order for our side dishes and then told us they were sorry but it would take awhile, but they told us they would comp us, but it still showed up on the bill. She had no idea what the soup of the day was and we were the only people there for our lunch. Very unorganized and couldn't answer simple questions about the menu, kept having to leave and "ask the chef". Sorry, won't be coming back.
Excellent food and a great ambiance. A nice little gem tucked away in the middle of what is otherwise restaurant-chain country.
Not that I needed to make reservations because it wasn't that busy when we got there, it was nice to get an intimate table away from other guests. Only problem was it was next to the bar and there were so many fruit flies. It made it hard to eat and drink because we kept on swooshing away the flies. One fly landed in my husband's drink and he couldn't finish it. I guess we should of just asked for a different table but we felt it would of been inconvenient for them. Even so, they should really do something about them fruit flies, it's disgusting. I had the Ahi Tuna and it was delicious, I just wish they served more on the plate. The fried calamari was mediocre, I've had better at the other restaurants. Would I ever go back to this restaurant? I would only go back if a friend wanted to go but I wouldn't go out of my way on my own to eat here.
The food was beautifully presented! The amount of food was a lot! I was surprised! Worth going. We will be back again!
It had only been open for a week so there were some bugs being worked out. The food was very good and the servers had a delightful attitude yet it seemed slow in getting the food out from the kitchen. I would think that was the result of getting their legs under them. I would go back.
This is a new restaurant in our area. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was amazing, from the first arrival and friendly greetings of the staff I, to the wine list and superb meal and eventually espresso and dessert. Many thanks to the fabulous chef. We will be back!!
