Waterbar Ratings and Reviews
Waterbar exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The environment was welcoming, pleasing, and had beautiful scenery. The food was affordable and exquisite. I had the prefix menu for lunch at $25, and all three courses were amazing. Excellent choice of wines as well. The servers were prompt, helpful, and extremely nice. I highly recommend this place for whatever the occasion.
Been regulars here for many years, but mainly brunch as of late, which is always good. Returned to try dinner after a little over a year and was pleasantly surprised. The food was innovative and surprising in its take. Different than most top SF seafood fare. Service was good and the views can’t be beat. Highly recommended.
Outstanding! The food was absolutely terrific and the service was superb. Everyone at our table raved about their food. You can always count on Waterbar. The waiters are always top-notch. They are extremely efficient and nice without being overbearing. Everything about this restaurant makes you want to come back again and again. What a treat it is to have a restaurant with one of the best views in town AND some of the best food in town—what a nice ( and rare) combination that is!
Given the number of great restaurants in SF it’s sometimes tempting to try other spots—but Waterbar makes it difficult to go anyplace else.
Nice sea front location, good and accurate service, great selection of local (North America) oysters. We got a nice comfortable table with view of the bridge. One main dish was a fantastic tuna and my one Cod from Alaska, only negative point is that it was cooked with smoked bacon. At the end too salty and not healthy (cured meat). Creativity is okay when match also with a good healthy policy.
we enjoyed our brunch but the waitress was really pushy. we had also made note it was a birthday and while the hostess and manager were gracious, the waitress seemed as if it was a hassle that we had come there for a birthday. she is lucky we forgot her name or we'd put it in this review. just the attitude we got from her was not worth the money although it would have been great otherwise.
We have dined at the Water bar twice before, both times the food and the service were amazing, Granted its been more than a year. This was supposed to be a Post Theater Dinner, Family get together. It started with the server asking for our Drink Selection, only to find out that we received only Water. When we asked for the Wine and Drinks he replied, I am sorry I forgot. My Wife ordered a Pisco Sauer and myself a Negroni ,both drinks did not taste good at all. In fact the pisco sauer was not made with Egg whites and had the bitters missing as well. The Oysters came and they were very good. The Daou Cabernet was incredible and so was the sommelier. But this is were the some what positive experience tanked. My Wife order a Ahi Tuna, she ask for a quick sear on each side, the Tuna after a long wait dry to the bone. I had the Rack of Lam, same here, it was over cooked. the other two dishes had the same issues. The side dishes were also slightly over cooked. Granted our reservation was for 9.45PM, but this should not happen. We dine out a lot, and we very rarely write a review, mostly to recommend a place. But I felt it was important to share our dinner experience. My recommendation would be get a great Bartender that can teach the rest of the staff how to make Signature Drinks, and please get a new Chef and maitre d
If you're looking for an exceptional San Francisco experience and certainly culinary delight this is the place where you have to go! Not just because of the views which are breathtaking and because the staff just treats all of its guests like royalty, but because it's one of those things that when you're in San Francisco and whether you are a native San Franciscan born and raised here still living here as I am, or traveling here from other parts of the country this is a must-see and must-do! As someone that has eaten in every four and five star restaurant in San Francisco over the last 25 years almost daily I can't speak highly enough of the Waterbar staff and the Culinary experts in the kitchen, not to mention the outstanding menu! Don't cheat yourself out of this experience make a reservation now! My favorite, very favorite of all the places in San Francisco! Congratulations Waterbar
Waterbar was amazing!! Our server was very professional and attentive to everything. He made the experience memorable. I really enjoyed my time there. The food was delicious, oysters were fresh and the food was very well presented and was very tasty. Thank you Waterbar I will recommend and I will come back again.
An outstanding dining experience! The service, the food, and the atmosphere were unusually good, even for a city like SF that has a plethora of excellent restaurants. While not inexpensive, the overall experience was truly worth the cost. Highly recommended!
Is there an occaision this restaurant isn't perfect for? Birthday, romantic, fit for foodies, terrific view? Yes, yes and more! Four of were just enjoying a holiday in the City after a ferry ride from Jack London Square. Our go-to restaurant was booked but Waterbar had an opening. We had to wait a few minutes for the table to be ready but we were rewarded with a view table, terrific friendly waiter and a wonderful memorable brunch! The entire staff couldn't be nicer--I think several manager types delivered food and drinks, making sure we were happy. We tried their fabulous French 75, pastrami salmon sandwich, soft poached eggs, hash dish among others, all to raves from our table. Now, we can't wait to try dinner.
