Everything was wonderful. Sorry not to be specific but it was a very good experience to take friends to “our” special place and have them enjoy everything.
Booked a reservation here for my friends birthday dinner. The service was outstanding. Our entrees took longer than we anticipated but overall, worth the wait. Definitely look forward to dining here again and taking in the great view of the Bay Bridge.
Fantastic! Love this restaurant. Perfectly situated under the bridge. The service is impeccable and the food has really gone up a notch. Go!
The food was excellent and the service at Waterbar is second to none. It’s my favorite SF restaurant.
Lovely lunch in the sun. Meeting a friend visiting from New York. Great oysters, cocktails and service from Ben. A fond memory!
Waitress was fantastic, music was a too loud on downstairs deck.
They weren't really open to black people, being there... I feel like between me & my 2 girls we was wearing at least 70,000$ worth of jewelry so they was kinda nice??
Slow service. Very nice waitress and staff. Seated in a walk through area outside very high traffic like being on a busy sidewalk. Food was not hot and highly over-salted. Sticky toffee pudding desert was very good.
very over priced, wouldn't sub a veggie. fish was tender. small portions.
Absolutely delicious and very accommodating. Happily added extra veggies instead of rice. Beautiful presentation. Best meal we've had in years!
Ben our waiter is first class recommended a few items which where stellar ... I really like the newish menu its not just classic seafood but some amazing fusion items that set this restaurant apart
I always like this place and never disappoint me everytime !!
The menu is abbreviated – presumably due to covid shut down, e.g., a selection of only five different oysters. But what is on the menu was perfectly prepared and presented. Amberjack sushi appetizer delicious, wild sturgeon entrée fabulous, and a sticky toffee bread pudding dessert to make you cheer. Service impeccable as usual.
Hello Tim, We are focusing on doing what we do at the best level we can with how things are today. We are happy to hear you enjoyed it! Our best, Rich T.
The Restaurant Week special was excellent. Patio dining on the waterfront is hard to beat, and Covid precautions taken by the restaurant made it worth celebrating a special event there.
Thanks so very much Suzi! Best, Rich T.
Food was great-appetizers, main entrees of fish, and dessert. Service was very good. Nice heaters on the patio since it’s chilly at night next to the water. We will be back!
Once we got in, service was excellent. Food and drinks were what we expected. The wine and cocktail list was extensive.
We started off with a dozen Oysters which were sweet and delicious. We had the lobster bisque. My wife had the pan roasted halibut which she finished before me. I had the macadamia crusted ahi tuna which I took the time to savor the flavor.
We finished the meal with the sticky toffee pudding and a latte.
It was a romantic meal with the Bay Bridge as our back drop.
Enjoyed a sunny afternoon with a friend enjoying oysters, ceviche, and squid. The food was paired with a crisp Spanish White wine recommended by our outstanding waiter. Great service, excellent food, and a view of the Bay!
This was a special occasion, my husband’s birthday. Our table was lovely, safety protocol was observed, the server was delightful, the service was wonderful, the mean was exquisite, and we received a complimentary glass of Prosecco to contribute to the celebration! Let me not neglect the view of the Bay Bridge- breathtaking!
Thanks so much Patricia! Our best, Rich T.
Wonderful outdoor eating on the terrace. $25 restaurant week 2-course meal was wonderful. Lovely place
I had an amazing experience at Waterbar on 4/12/21 at 1:30pm. The staff were very knowledgeable of the menu list and wine pairing, they were extremely attentive, and had impeccable customer service. The food was delicious, I had the Ahi Tuna, oysters, and tiramisu. I have nothing to complain about. Added bonus that they had a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge.
Overall, amazing! Great location, beautiful outdoor dining, superb food, very attentive staff!!!
Always superb. Quality and value, unique and delectable.
Easy to recommend enthusiastically.
Thanks so much Eats2much! Our best, Rich T.
Amazing! We went to celebrate and had the best good and service!
The food and service were outstanding.
Pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
Loveeee this place!
Our waiter was attentive and extremely polite. We Loved the location, the sun peaked in and the outdoor heaters kept us warm enough to each by the Bay. We will be returning often because of our enjoyment & pleasure. Compliments to the Chef & the proprietor. We only wished for Valet parking in the future!
We chose Waterbar for our first dining out event post lockdown. We had lunch outside on a lovely sunny afternoon at a wonderful waterfront table. We ate oysters, shrimp, sturgeon, and yellowtail jack with asparagus-artichoke soup to start. The food was terrific and filling. The waitstaff was very Covid-aware and the restaurant asks patrons to mask up when staff approaches. I noticed the busser cleaning a nearby table, which involved replacing all of the linens and cleaning the table underneath. It was a true joy to eat such fine food again!
The SF restaurant week special was marvelous. The artichoke and asparagus soup with walnuts and creme fraiche was superb. We enjoyed the yellowtail jack with fennel and fingerling potatoes, as well.
The service was great. The view of the bay was magnificent. An enchanting meal all around!
The food price quality ratio wasn’t the one we expected. The steak was quite old, the sautéed veggies were soggy and greasy. We ordered a set of oysters, where a few of them had a pretty bad smell and we just refused to eat them. The waitress, though, was amazing and nice, no questions here.
I have been a patron of Waterbar (and Epic) for many years, and I have never been disappointed. The seafood (and special mention for oysters) has always been fresh and prepared in such a way as to highlight the focal point of the entree. Never over-salted/cream/butter/etc. Service is a terrific and customer-focused without being fawning or bothersome. Cocktails are spot on, and the wine list is extensive and not prohibitively expensive. The ambiance speaks for itself, but again, the restaurant compliments the setting without being too obvious about it.
The following comments have nothing to do with the restaurant, but it bears mentioning that he landscape in which the restaurant is set has become concerning from a safety perspective. Living in the city, we used to either walk/ride public/Uber to the restaurant, but as we were running late this time, I decided to drive, drop-off family, then park nearby. I found a space on Spear really quickly and made the short walk to the restaurant. After dark was, however, another matter entirely. I left the family at the restaurant to go get the car, and on the trip I observed a entirely deranged man beating a park bench--next to the restaurant--with a golf club while screaming all manner of expletives, another man with his pants down standing underneath Cupid's Bow--he was also screaming, and once on Spear, a car with blacked-out windows followed me--keeping pace exactly with me as I walked. The car stopped when I reached my car, and I quickly got in and sped away. The car took off at a high rate of speed once I was in the car. Again, this has nothing to do with Waterbar, but everything to do with the safety of its customers. Not sure where to go from here, but if you're walking back to a car after a late dinner, be forewarned that it is not without its challenges.
Excellent in every way. Service was concerned and helpful, enabling our party of four to switch from outdoors to inside on an unexpectedly cold busy Saturday evening/
We had a fantastic dinner with a view of the Bay Bridge. I had the halibut and it was delicious. We sat outside, but it was nice and warm under the heater. The service was also great.
Appetizers were good. Steak entree was not good. Very expensive and over cooked. Should have sent back. Service was great. View was great. Dessert was good. First time at this restaurant I might go for drinks again but now for dinner. Very disappointing.
Best prawns I’ve ever had! But didn’t expect only 4 for a $24 appetizer. Service was amazing and the ambience was pleasant.
Great food and service, excellent cocktail, great bottle of wine. I thought it was a little overpriced for what you get, but the quality of ingredients was top notch. Highly recommend for date, or special occasion. We had a blast!
Unfortunately I was harassed by a mentally ill homeless person and had to move tables out of safety concern
It’s been so long since we’ve been able to go out and dine. Waterbar was the perfect way to get back into the dining groove. Great food and wine, an amazing view and excellent service and hospitality.
We love hearing this GF8! Thanks for getting your grove back with us at Waterbar. Best regards, Rich T.
Great, Cesar, David, Ruch, Freddy and hostess.
This was a going away lunch for a very dear friend who is a regular visitor with me to Waterbar. Four of us needed to be together on a gorgeous Friday afternoon in San Francisco. After more than 13 years of patronage we finally sat on the upstairs outdoor patio. The new perspective on the bay was well worth it.
As always we started with the special oysters. They were perfection. They were large and plump and had a great taste of the sea. After that I had a wonderful halibut ceviche that I'll order again if I find it on the menu. Everything about it was fresh and delicious. For my entree I had the rock cod tacos. I don't thin anyone else fries as well as Waterbar. The coating was perfect and the fish tender and flakey. They were accompanied by refried white beans that are amazing.
To finish we shared the sticky toffee pudding. We shared because we were all so full from the previous courses. But I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I started the day with a new cocktail from the list called Day Spa. It's made with tequila, cucumber, and chili lime juice. With just a hint of heat it was a perfect beginning to a great meal.
Love to it DBA1! Our best, Rich T.
