Having been at Waterbar for lunch and/or dinner a number of times, it is totally reliable and meets expectations established on my first visit. Fantastic location and experience.

We had an amazing evening celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday! Although pricey, the experience and food is worth it. From our server to the sommelier, the staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and welcoming. They even brought out a special dessert for my sister who is celiac and couldn't partake in the birthday dessert. We will absolutely be back for the next special occasion.

Phenomenal brunch! I have celiac disease and the entire team went above and beyond for my safety. I highly recommend Waterbar and will most definitely be back next time we’re in SF.

Food extremely salty. Two different dishes flavor lost. Salt necessary but way overdone.

Excellent views; service; food!
The music was a bit loud and distracting and the room was cold.
However, our server was wonderful and went out of his way to turn the air conditioner down.
We would definitely go back!

Three of us had lunch on a weekday. Each ordered a different entree and they were all superb. We had the Yellowtail Sandwich, the Swordfish and the Ling Cod. Each dish was unique and delicious.

The noise level however was very distracting. It was difficult to hear each other. I would consider returning during a non peak dining time which might help address this issue.

I would recommend the Waterbar to any friend for the quality of food and the stunning view - but would warn them about the noise level.

We celebrated our 30th Valentine’s Wedding Anniversary.
We let the restaurant know ahead. They treated us wonderfully! From the ‘front desk’ to the final goodbye! Everyone was attentive and genuinely hospitable towards us! We had so much fun and enjoyed the delicious food!
Can’t wait to go back!!

My husband and I went for our Valentine’s Day holiday. We really enjoyed the food and the service. Although there was an issue with the parking, it was rectified by the manager before we left the restaurant.

The location of the restaurant is wonderful and the views spectacular. The bar was a great start with great drinks, oysters on the half shell, and crab cocktail. Then to the table for dinner with excellent view of the lighted bridge. Wine was incredible with affordable options and also really high end as well. Food was phenomenal and the service to match. The best meal and experience I have had in years. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant.

Overall impression was very good. I would recommend this restaurant for both business and personal occasions. This restaurant is very popular for the tourists as well and you should be aware of the accuracy of your arrival time. In my case, due to the traffic condition on the day I was late for 15 minutes after the reservation. The receptionist showed displeasure with my late arrival and told I should have called in advance.

Wonderful food. Very slow service. We had to ask the server to take our order. We were hungry. We had to ask for bread. We had a lovely time but would have enjoyed it more if the wait time was cut in half. 2.5 hours for dinner on a weeknight was unexpected.

Nice atmosphere, nice service, but overpriced food. My tuna was rubbery, and my boyfriend's pork was chewy. Very overpriced for the quality.

The atmosphere is first class. You have the view of the Oakland Bay Bridge, and the giant aquariums inside the restaurant. The service was OK. The waiter got one of the main entrees wrong, so we had to wait longer for dinner. Hey, we are all Human. The corkage fee was a little pricey, $35, but maybe that is the going rate now in the city. Finally, the Food. I had high expectations for the food. Frankly, I was a little disappointed with the menu. Anyway, I had the Cod, but as I said earlier, they brought me the Tuna in error. My wife had the Skate. Neither dish impressed me. In fact, my Cod, once I got it, seemed a little too salty. I liked the Scallops Appetizer at first, but then it too seemed a bit too salty. My wife liked the butternut squash soup. In the final analysis, I wish the food was on par with the wonderful atmosphere. Perhaps next time, just drinks, and then another eatery for dinner.

Tombo Tuna Tartare was extremely disappointing - at least half of the pieces were larger than a 1/4 inch dice and a 1/3 had sinews - should have sent it back

Lobster in lobster roll lacked the sparkling fresh vibrancy one expects - small portion with large price

Excellent bloody mary

We dined outside in the patio area for lunch. This was my first time, and I was impressed with cuisine and the ample portions. One of us had the fixed price 3-course menu, and the other had the fish sandwich. Both were well received and devoured! The service was excellent - overall a very positive, enjoyable experience. We look forward to returning!

Getting together with old friends:
The music in the background was very loud. We had to talk loudly in order to hear each other. People at each table have to talk loudly also. If the restaurant places some plants or cloth like materials on the wall to absorb the sound, the place would
be more people friendly and inviting.

Beautiful sun-drenched afternoon to have lunch on the deck with views of the Bay and bridge.
$1 oysters were a wonderful deal, but so was the ahi sandwich.
Service was courteous and attentive.

I set up a lunch with friends at the Waterbar because I have been there many times and have been generally satisfied. The overpriced wine list is offset by the $1.05 oysters before 5:30 p.m. we were a party of 3. I ordered two dozen oysters for an appetizer. They were, as usual, fabulous. We each ordered the seafood Louie salad. That was where the problem was. Salad came out with micro shrimp, you know the kind you buy at Safeway for $ 3.99 a pound to mix in with cocktail sauce. The total amount of crab meat on the salad that’s probably about what could be to be taken from one claw of a Dungeness crab. Again very slim portion. I should point out that the salad was 18 or $20. There was no other seafood on the salad.. Dressing was mediocre and the underlying line vegetation limp. My two dining companions were gracious and complimented the view. Also commenting but I guess they’ll do better with the fish next time. .So anyway, from a long time patron of the waterbar I have to say that I was particularly disappointed in this visit. I will most likely go back and I’m sure things will be better.
