Water Grill never disappoints. Our server, Justin, was awesome.
I took a client on a Monday business dinner, and we were interrupted so often it turned into a joke. Our waiter was extremely over attentive - interrupting our conversations, repositioning our plates and utensils unnecessarily, and in general, disrupting the flow of an otherwise excellent meal. He also couldn't take a hint about his behavior, believing himself the star of the show, joking around and trying to insert himself into the conversation, rather than reading the tone of a serious business dinner. I wouldn't bring a client here again, but it would be a good family meal spot. Also, they don't validate parking or offer free valet, which was surprising given the price point. The food was great.
Went here on Saturday for our anniversary and everything was Perfect ! We shared the seafood tower , my hubby had the sea bass I had the cioppino & they both were amazing ! Our server was the sweetest he was amazing !!!! Would definitely come back !
Great food great service
Always good food, good service, nice atmosphere, very reliable which is what you want in a fine dining experience.
The service was superb. The food was inconsistent. For example, I had the sea bass and it literally melted in your mouth. (If you come you have to get this! Trust me!) By husband had the salmon and it wasn’t even seasoned.
Overall a good experience, nice atmosphere and phenomenal service.
Water Grill had some of the best seafood I've had in years. Our waiter, Jace, was right on point with his recommendations. My wife had Chilean Sea Bass and I had Alaskan Black Cod. Both dishes were amazing, but the Sea Bass was THE BEST Sea Bass I've ever tasted! We will definitely be back again!
Very good shrimp and grits. Went for lunch And plenty of seating.
Blake was a great waiter
The snow king crab legs were perfect. Big meaty sweet and delicate. The Chilean sea bass was the best fish I’ve ever eaten
Birthday celebration was awesome
Never eaten for dinner always lunch glad we came. Great selection of fresh seafood from California coast and the gulf.
Perfect dinner! Service was impeccable, and everything we ordered was delicious. We did the oyster tasting and it was wonderful! I had the king salmon and my husband had the scallops - we loved both! Don’t skip the bread pudding.
Had a wonderful meal and a fantastic anniversary dinner!
AMAZING food!!!! OUTSTANDING service!!! Prices a little expensive.... WE'LL BE BACK!!!!
Loved the atmosphere. Service was good. Selection was great. Went for restaurant week and was very pleased with the meal. Very generous portions and everything tasted so good. I would definitely go back when looking for a good seafood fine dining experience n
Very enjoyable dinner evening. Will certainly come back.
The salmon was dry. Food is expensive for what it is.
Been here a couple of times. Best oysters and those crab nuggets... are to dye for! Everything is delicious and fresh mixed with the most attentive service, this is by far the best value. Not cheap, but worth every penny!
Always a staple when we get to Dallas. Consistent excellent food and service
Excellent oysters, the rest was very average
I was told about this place from a server at Geronimo's in Santa Fe. She used to work at Water Grill and we took her advice and visited. The food was delicious, great craft cocktails, board and solid wine list and great atmosphere. Many different seafood options and everything we tried was very fresh.
We went for Restaurant Week for an early Sunday dinner before going to the Opera House. Quiet atmosphere, attentive staff (many of them and they seem to help each other out), enjoyed watching the activity in the kitchen (behind glass, so not loud), restaurant decor is fishy / coastal / retro padded bar in the center and fresh bar opposite it. I did see a patio, but it's 100+ out in August, so didn't see anyone there. I had Boston clam chowder (mild, but fresh) served with excellent breads / Scallops were done well - not overcooked, but crispy exterior w/ a flavorful sauce, and the best bread pudding w/ caramel and sea salt even. Hubby had the watercress & Heirloom tomato salad - large portion and fresh, he had the salmon and Farro risotto - a little too earthy for his preference (green sauce), he had the dish of 3 ice creams for dessert. We each had a cocktail ahead and then a Pinot for the meal. I did have to ask for ice for my water. Valet was OK, but had to be found when we left.
Water Grill was okay. Our waiter was slow, and there was lots of just sitting without drinks, etc. Our side dish was brought to the table FIRST before our appetizer. Our waiter quickly saw that (the only quick thing about the evening) and took it back to the kitchen. However, when it was actually time to deliver the side dish - the same (now COLD) dish was brought back to our table. Might have been better to eat it hot out of order than bring a cold dish back to the table, particularly at this high end pricing!!! The food was good but not out of the ordinary, and surely not impressive enough to overcome the slow service in an establishment that was not busy. (Lots of empty tables.) We went for our anniversary. I would not recommend this restaurant for anniversary celebration. They sat us in the middle of the restaurant right on the backside of the bar where all the waitstaff was going by to get drinks from the bartender. Definitely not a romantic seating (particularly as I said lots of empty table that would have been a much more conducive choice for a couple celebrating). Overall not the best experience with atmosphere, service, or food.
Great food, the wait staff, although generally pleasant, seemed to be very busy but not efficient. They had no clue about cleaning off between appies and dinner; no clue that we might want to order more; no clue we might want desert; and the hostess' were very nice but not particularly well versed in dealing with clients. FOOD EXCELLENT!! so, bottom line, the back of restaurant should get a SIX STAR RATING but the front of house, other than the bartender who was top notch, really could use significant training on awareness and efficiency....much movement and constant scurrying around but not productive....kind of annoying actually.
Went for Restaurant Week. Portions we huge. Very nice.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in all of Dallas. I have been here twice & plan to return for my birthday.
Great food. Great service!
Always good and fun place to go.
Chef needs training on cooking fresh fish. When fresh fish gets close to expiring, chefs have a trick of over salting to cover fish smell. This is not my first rodeo. If I’m paying a premium to get fresh. I sent my overly salted Halibut back for a fresh, unsalted filet.
Went for Restaurant Week, so didn't have choice of entire menu. I selected the scallops which were delicious. I started with the Clam Chowder which was excellent. We shred desserts - ice-cream and bread pudding, all of which were OK. As for the service: Justin took extremely good care of us. I will return so that I can try other menu items.
It was amazing! The staff really made it a special night. The food was fantastic!
Delicious high quality food, amble serving sizes, great service, and for Restaurant Week- it was a very good value and great experience.
Definitely disappointed in the atmosphere and food
Food was way overpriced for what it was. It was aesthetically pleasing but that's about it. And, I got this menu during restaurant week, so it was already discounted as is and I still don't deem it worth it.
Great restaurant week specials. Excellent service and very good food.
Our first time here. Everything was wonderful (the food, the service, the ambiance).. we shall come back...
Absolutely flawless service, thanks Alley! Enjoyed fantastic oysters and crab starter, refreshing moscow mules and excellent breads. I wish I could finish the diving Mexican Sea Bass with bok choy, mashed potatoes were amazing too! Looking forward to coming back for sure.
Very good food, not cheap but worth it.
Beautiful, attentive and personable bar tender, good food, and great atmosphere!
