   Our reservation was for Derby night and we were very late because it took longer than anticipated leaving the track. So grateful that the restaurant was flexible with us! Food and service were outstanding!

   I loved everything about this restaurant on Derby Day! All of the waitstaff were super friendly and beyond professional! They were extremely attentive and made dining solo so enjoyable with their personable natures. The food was absolutely amazing, I had the salad and the lamb. I would 10/10 go there again!

   Really top drawer food and service. Fun, exciting, full place Derby wk. Nice ambiance, crowd. Very impressive wall of liquor. Best thing on the menu is lobster hush puppy with lemon aioli. Gangbusters.

   It was one of the best Top 2 dining experiences I’ve ever had on April 29th, 2025, and I’m almost 50. Great promptly when we arrived. We arrived 45 minutes before the reservation and waited about 10-15 to get two seats at the bar. As you entered the restaurant, the vibe was outstanding. The staff was engaging and smiling. The bartender waiting for us gave us the scoop about the place; as I had mentioned, I recently watched Brewzle on YouTube during his visit. Being a Bourbon guy, I felt that this place was like heaven. At the front bar, I ordered Stagg B12, aka the GTS killer, and my friend ordered this year's EH barrel proof to start things off. After about two rounds of bourbon at the bar, it was time to be sat at our table. We were at the small table in front of the central area. It was the best seat in the house. Our server greeted us after being sat. He had great energy & vibe. Explained the layout of the place and also told us about the specials. We then ordered two additional rare bourbons from the most impressive bourbon list I’ve ever seen. We both had the bone for the main course in 28-ounce ribeye grilled medium rare. It came out sliced with the bone in a cast iron skillet. It was grilled perfectly medium rare. It was one of the best, most flavorful steaks I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten in Chicago several times; this was much better. The highlight of the night was that not only did the general manager, Chris Ballou, stop to check on us & chat with us, but the owner, Jason, stopped by & introduced himself to us and thanked us for dining with Watch Hill Proper. The energy of the whole place was level 10 the entire night. The live band, a few people dancing, the best bourbon list, and the food were outstanding. Our server was fantastic; the service was top-notch from everyone we interacted with. It was just a tremendous experience at now my favorite restaurant in Louisville. I’m not interested in going anywhere else. Other places, take notice. This is it.

   This was our first time here and it was phenomenal. From the moment we walked in to the moment our food arrived. The service was amazing. Justin was our server and he was really knowledgeable which helped with our order and everything we ordered was amazing! The only complaint I had was the noise level. The bar does tend to get loud with people and sometimes it’s hard to hear the person across from you.

   Amazing restaurant for bourbon lovers and all-alike. Food was fantastic and service was even better. They really go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. Our server, Sam, was very knowledgeable on all food and drinks and explained the selections as if he were the one preparing them himself. Would definitely go back next time I’m in the Louisville area.

   First time was incredible!! Our waiter gave us great recommendations, the food was great the lady singing really set the mood! Definitely will be coming back

   This food was amazing! This is now one of our top choices in Louisville. Not only is it a fun experience, it’s really delicious food and lots of adventure to have with bourbon! You have to go!
