Afghanische Spezialitäten bekommt man auch in München nicht an jeder Ecke. Gut, dass es das Watan Restaurant in der Augustenstraße gibt, wo man traditionelle, landestypische Gerichte probieren kann. Ende 2018 eröffnete das Lokal in der Maxvorstadt und serviert seitdem Speisen, die von der indischen, persischen und asiatischen Küche inspiriert sind. So findet man auf der Speisekarte unter anderem pikant gewürzte Hähnchenbrust vom Lavasteingrill mit Basmatireis, mit Hackfleisch gefüllte Teigtaschen, die mit einer Quark-Linsen-Sauce serviert werden oder eingelegten Kürbis, verfeinert mit einer Ingwer-Honig-Sauce. Aber auch Suppen, Salate, warme Vorspeisen und Köstlichkeiten mit Lammfleisch stehen im Watan zur Auswahl. Auf keinen Fall verpassen sollte man beim nächsten Besuch eines der traditionellen Desserts (afghanisches Eis oder Milchpudding mit Mandeln, Pistazien und Kardamom). Tipp!
