Just had dinner at WSB and again the food was outstanding. Chef/owner Ray creates some wonderful dishes. They are inventive, tasty and the price of the meal doesn't break the bank. One of my favorite restaurants in Morristown and there are lots to choose from. Will be back soon. Service is very good. Sometimes noise level get ramp up but usually the noise is quite acceptable.

The onion soup was great, but the beet salad and flank steak were mediocre.

In the heart of Morristown is the hidden gem called the Washington Street Bistro. Not only is the food delicious, but if you are lucky enough to have Alana as your server, the delicious food will be enhanced by her wonderful smile. She is attentive, helpful and personable. Our meal began with complimentary fresh rolls. We ordered the Brussel Sprout Hash which was amazing. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf which was both delicious and plentiful. It was accompanied by smashed red skin potatoes and gravy. I opted for the vegetable option which was DELICIOUS! The restaurant is, quaint, small and intimate. We ended our dinner with the Creme Brûlée accompanied with fresh berries. It, too, was amazing. The fact that it is BYOB gives you the option of bringing exactly what you want to enhance your dining experience. Do yourself a favor and DON'T miss an opportunity to experience this restaurant first hand. We will be sure to return on every trip back to NJ!

A quiet, hidden gem in the overcrowded restaurant crush of Morristown. Beautiful salads, creative soups, everything fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. A friend and I went there for lunch and plan to go back with our spouses for dinner.

Reservation for 7/5 for my wife's birthday. We were to be joined by good friends. We had been there before for lunch. We knew it was a limited menu, but arrived to be told that three of the six sandwich choices were not available. A few of the hot entrees not available and there was no shrimp, so the salad with shrimp added option was out. At first we thought it was a reflection of the July 4th holiday, but the server said that this had been the case since she started working this week. Monday through Wednesday. It would seem that the restaurant is planning to close???? What other explanation could there be for such a menu dilemma. What we had was not that terrible (salmon burger) but seemed to be something that could be pulled out of the freezer. (Three of us had this) Fourth person had a burger which was acceptable. My wife wanted to have the smoked salmon BLT which she had had before. No smoked salmon. Could no one have run to the deli to get some smoked salmon. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WITH THIS PLACE. Don't waste your time. We would have asked to see the manager, but the server, who was the only one working, seemed to be making the best of the situation. We ended our lunch with coffee and we had to wait for her to brew the decaf before she could start a pot of regular coffee. Do they really have only ONE coffee pot? The whole thing was an unfortunate fiasco for my wife's birthday celebration. I was embarrassed that I had suggested that our friends meet us there and travel from Springfield.

We were a party of eight celebrating my daughter's birthday. Service was attentive and forthcoming, including special requests like putting up small decorations and candles. The food was excellent contributing to the high spirits of all attendees. It was everyone's first time at the Bistro, but we will definitely come again.

Really enjoyed the intimate nature of this small restaurant. Owner/chef came out to speak with us before we left, which was a nice touch. Some adjustments to the dishes b/c of requests were handled well. Very nice experience.

It was our first and will probably be our last time to eat at Wash. St. Bistro. It was a warm evening in June and the air-conditioning wasn't working. That coupled with a menu better suited to winter temps (e.g. Meat loaf) made it a very underwhelming experience.

Was there during the week...very quiet. Food was good.

We have eaten at the Washington Street Bistro a few times and have never been disappointed. On our last visit we had a 6:45 reservation, early for a Saturday night. Upon entering, we noticed something not quite right. Upon being seated and waiting a considerable amount of time without being acknowledged or having our wine opened or served water, we were finally greeted by our server, Kelly who was obviously stressed. We have been served by Kelly before and it was quite obvious something was amiss. She apologized and informed us there were some unfortunate issues involving the staff followed by telling us that a few of the menu items were already sold out. We were able to select our choices and as usual everything was very good. We felt so bad for both servers who had to inform each later diner about menu items sold out with almost 1 added item each time including the daily specials not available. We just want to acknowledge how well these servers handled a very difficult situation and hope the entire staff will soon be back. The food was as good as always and would recommend this restaurant.

We were a party of 7 wine collectors on a quietish Thursday night. Had informed the restaurant beforehand that this was a wine dinner and the setup and service was just perfect. Shared several pre and mid courses and then everyone had their own entrees. All food sampled was delicious, scallops and terrine the early course standouts and the hanger steak with accouterments a very good main. No desserts to speak of.
A very nice evening, we will be back.

Washington Bistro is dependable. The menu has something to offer for everyone-fish, poultry, beef and vegetarian items. After trying many items on multiple visits, we have always been satisfied.

Great food and nice place. I had the French Onion soup and meatloaf. My wife had the Gluten Free Gnocchi. Everything was outstanding and we would certainly go back the next time we are in Morristown.

While my husband eats there often, we have been there together several times
and never fail to be impressed. The quality is consistently outstanding; it is a restaurant you could enjoy for a casual lunch or a more leisurely evening meal. The food is superb: imaginative and tasty without being precious or pretentious. We are huge fans of the simple but succulent salmon burger; it comes with outstanding steak fries ( or a delicious, abundant house salad that is filled with unusual greens). The service is excellent, caring without being intrusive. The prices are very fair for such a lovely dining experience. We love-for an evening meal- that it is BYOB. We have lived in New Jersey for decades and have never had better food in the Garden State.

It was a very quiet night. Sorry that more people were not there (Wednesday evening). Service is great, very knowledgeable waitress. The combinations of vegetables are interesting. Really love the Kale/Brussels Sprout salad.
