Washington Park Grille Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Wash Park Grill years ago for cocktails with friends. I had an important busy and social lunch. We sat outside on the patio on a gorgeous fall day. The hostess and service was great and very friendly and prompt. The special was a wild mushroom ravioli. It was amazingly fresh with an incredible sauce. Server offered generous amounts of cheese and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues. Great Job!!
I have eaten at Wash Park Grille many times. It is always excellent. My twin sister and I were having an early birthday dinner. We both ordered the pork chops. The pork chop was juicy, tender, and delicious. The apple and bacon side was yummy, and the polenta was outstanding. We had a great server, Rocco, who made reccomendations, was friendly, and attentive.
What a fabulous find near the University of Denver! My sister (from the area ) took my daughter (out of state student from Michigan) here last year, and they loved it so much we brought the whole family - ten of us including a toddler and a baby - when I was in Denver to drop my daughter at college. We all had the buffet, and it was ridiculously good! Incredible variety of traditional brunch favorites (carving stations, waffles) to specialty items like eggs Benedict and sausage and biscuits (a yummy surprise!) Lovely setting on the edge of campus nestled in a quaint neighborhood shopping area. Service was excellent, from trying to make a specialty reservation to the attentive hostess and waitress. This is surely to become a frequent stop during my couple visits to Denver every year.
My meal had so much garlic on it it made me feel ill for hours afterward. Our table was sandwiched between the server station and the door to the patio so that was not great. Our dessert took over 20 minutes to come. Our server was very nice but that's about all we liked about it. Very overpriced for a place that clearly doesn't have a chef with a touch for flavor balance.
We have been to the Washington Park Grill many times with great service. Unfortunately this time the service was terrible, and we were there for a special occasion, so disappointing. It was clear that our waiter did not know what he was doing. We ordered pizzas and burgers but were one pizza short, he blamed it on someone else taking the pizza. We waited a long time for it to arrive and meanwhile our second order of drinks did not appear, no water, no ketchup, just ignored for over 10 minutes. When we finally paid, we realized too late that we did not receive the happy hour pricing for the first round of drinks even though we specifically asked what was included when that order was placed. It will be a long while before we return.
