Washington Park Grille
An upscale age-diverse crowd mingles at this popular neighborhood restaurant & gathering place east of Wash Park.
A covered strip on the south and west side with fire place makes for convivial outdoor seating (you just might see a neighbor), and Sunday brunch offers an all you can eat Buffet (juice, soda, coffee and tea are included). A beautiful lounge is off to the side. 11 beers are on tap, 15 in bottles and an excellent wine list at the elegant U-shaped bar. A roomy & elegant banquet room with its own patio and a presentation compatible 80” HDTV complete this restaurant for every occasion.
Dinners are mid-priced, with a nice selection of grilled seafood & steaks & several fancy pasta dishes. The lunch offering is paninis, grilled sandwiches, salads & pasta.

Very good overall. Good daily specials. Presentation of chicken skewers was very cool and unique. French onion soup was 4.8/5
It was awful with the exception of our waitress, Sara. She was great. One of the other waiters was obviously drunk and he almost dropped a tray of food on one of the people at our table and subsequently, it would have dropped on our entire table. As it was, he dropped it by the table next to ours and got food all over other guests. Just awful
Very good food all around, but some items are perhaps priced above the value of what you receive as a diner on your plate. Service was professional and friendly. Lively vibe, but noise was only moderate, even with the live music in the next room.
Lentil soup was VERY salty; Tuna poké was delicious. Love the location & ambiance, we had a reservation but service was so slow we had to go up to the front and ask for menus/server. Doubt that we will ever go back, there are simply too many amazing restaurants in Denver.
I’ve been a customer of WPG for years. I’ve witnessed the quality of food and service go down as the prices went up. It is hard to park on Gaylord Street so visiting this restaurant requires a real interest in what it offers. Unfortunately it’s food and mediocre service do not attract me any longer. Salad, soup, one appetizer and two ice teas for $73.00 is too pricey. Server standing over us with a pod that automatically added a 20% tip is downright offensive. No wonder restaurant was half empty at noon.
A lot of wait staff standing around while we waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Pet peeve of mine....seat us at a table where the waitstaff will at least acknowledge us being in their station.
Wash Park Grill is a favorite place to relax and visit with friends over good food. The service was excellent--available but not intrusive. Our server was friendly and helpful.
Have eaten at WP Grill many times for lunch. Always impressed with the quality of the food. Service is good and the location is excellent for people watching and outdoor dining. I would certainly recommend giving it a try if you have not done so before.
good location, nice patio, really great service. went for dinner and sat outside on a nice summer evening and had a really enjoyable experience.
The brunch buffet was quite good. Excellent roast beef. Truly endless mimosas, very good value.
The Sunday buffet was yummy with lots of variety. It wasn't too crowded at 10:30 a.m.
Diana was a wonderful wait person. The food was delicious.
Meeting a friend we haven't caught up with in years and needed quiet. Was lace at a table where noise was minimal. Mo waiting time with reservation. Waitress attentive and personable. Had top[ notch dinner of Halibut. Sauce superb. Heavy rain kept us there longer than anticipated and that was fine! Key lime pie could be a little more limey but I still ate it all.
Good food. But where was the air conditioning? It was incredibly hot and uncomfortable for such a nice restaurant. We couldn’t figure out why it was so warm. As a result, we have no plans to go back soon.
The food was very good but there were house flies flying around from all of the open doors (presumably) going in and out to service the tables outside. This was a major distraction and likely unhealthy.
This post is based on Sunday brunch, offered either as a full buffet (non-alcoholic drinks included) or off- the menu. But for the great cost of the buffet, it's always our choice. While service was a bit slow to refill drinks, clear plates, that was a first time situation and everything else, food, quality, value-for-money was still outstanding. One of the best such buffets around but some of their daily specials, and regular menu, offer just as strong a deal so if you can't make it on a Sunday morning don't let that stop you.
steak and pork chops were both over cooked compared to what we ordered. Same thing happened to the table next to us, so stay away from meat unless you like well done. Waitress gave us a bit of a discount, but still had to deal with tough and dry food. Other than the meat issue, the meal was good. Band had no energy
Good local Denver restaurant tucked away in a place you would have never thought of. . .possibly especially if you grew up within 5 miles of the place!
Busy at the time so a little slow with the service, but we totally understand. A good experience overall.....
Excellent as always! Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Already looking forward to our next visit.
Their pasta dishes are fantastic!! Great dessert menu as well.
We were in such a good mood going in. I’ve been a waitress- I totally get it. The 24$ seafood ravioli wasn’t cooked all the way and I saw the waitress probably a total of a minute through the 2 hour dinner. Didn’t know that dining out can actually ruin a good night.
Good restaurant for an upscale occasion without kids.
Great as always
Nice place, great service. Food out of the kitchen is a little slow. Not good when you have to get back to work.
We thoroughly enjoyed the two times we ate here. Salads were great, spritzes were nice in the heat, fresh fish special was delish and service was perfect. But the best part is they have a lovely, covered outdoor area with misters that is dog friendly so we could dine with our dogs.
Overall, a very pleasant experience. However, the process for ordering an omelette can and should be examine. The current process is:
1. collect an order slip from the omelette station
2. fill out the order slip, find one's serving and hand the ordering slip to server
3. server complete ordering slip and hand it to the cook at the omelette station
4. omelette is prepared, server bring omelette to table, guest then return to the buffett station to collect sides to go with the omelette if they desire to have it hot.
Suggest tailoring the process for ordering an omelette. For example, have the ordering slip on the table or have the server hand it to the guests who desire to order an omelette when taking drink orders and handing out table menu.
Great Setting and Amazing Brunch-with Mountains of Bacon-and plenty of everything else! Great service and ambiance as well!
Not sure I'd recommend. Food was good, but we received the wrong bill that was double our own. Since no paper receipt was allowed, we could not check our order/bill to see if it was correct. We might have been billed more than what we ordered, but we'll never know. The technology might be good for the owners and servers, but not for the customers.
We love to drive down from Castle Pines and bike around Washington Park… After our ride we always head over to Washington Park Grille. Great casual neighborhood environment and delicious food and drink!
Lunch outside is great. Mostly quiet and easy to have a conversation. Salmon/kale salad was very good. Beer was cold, but the best part was that on a 90 degree day, it was cool outside. They water mist/fan cooling system was absolutely perfect. Parking was surprisingly easy with a less than one-minute walk to the restaurant.
Always a pleasure
Excellent Sunday brunch buffet. Great cocktails too! If you are not a buffet fan they also offer a limited menu on Sunday’s. The caprese panini is delicious!!
Great waitress, the food was good, and the hostesses were very friendly.
Went here for a birthday lunch...FYI, they don’t do anything for birthdays unless you’re on their mailing list. My friend ordered a dish and requested no shrimp. It came with shrimp anyway and had to be sent back. I tried to order a sandwich from the specials menu, and even though it was early and not at all busy, I was told the sandwich was scratched from the menu (would have been nice to know that right away, rather than when ready to order). I ended up getting a different sandwich, a turkey panini, which was not good...thick, fatty slabs of turkey rather than thinly sliced. The Caesar salad was good but a bit too much dressing. Our waiter didn’t ask once how the food was and only came back to the table to ask if we wanted a dessert menu. Overall, not a good experience. Won’t be back.
I had a business dinner here and Rebecca, our server, did an excellent job of taking care of us. She was attentive but not over bearing and managed to provide the service we needed despite the fact that she was also handling a table of 12. As always, the food was excellent.
The rack of lamb was the best and perfectly cooked. The daily ravioli special was superb. We always enjoy our meals at WPG and have been for many years.
The service and seating were good for a busy evening. The recommendation of the lam chops was good. My wife got the seafood pasta per recommendation, too much sauce too few clams too much pasta. In addition it was late , they brought out the wrong dish. But overall, a good night.
Food took way too long, once it arrived my daughter’s dish was prepared incorrectly. It took another 20 minutes for her correct meal to arrive. My wife and I waited to finish our meal with our daughter. The food was then cold. We ate on patio and the waitress had too many tables. Not a good experience tonight.
Overall the food and service was very good, the only thing that caught my attention was how our server already plugged in the 20% tip for our four-top without giving my Dad a chance to select the tip himself. Something to note, even if he had already planned to tip 20%, it seemed weird that the server had already selected it.
