Great outdoor patio. Good food and service. Pleasant dining.
A great, delicious Chicken Picatta. A little puzzled as the portion size was about half what we were served a couple of weeks ago, but would still go back.
This place never fails to give me a great meal. The food there is so consistently delicious I am always very happy with whatever I've ordered. I tried their Chicken Piccata special, and OH. MY. HECK. It was epic. My mostly plant-based Husband finished my meal when I couldn't eat more. No complaints from his end either. Service is always outstanding, and the ricotta donuts are a MUST. Thank you again for the great meal!!!!
Our server Natalie was AWESOME! Service was great , friendly , fun and professional. She made our experience great. Food was fantastic as always!
It was my birthday!
Discovered this gem of a place via Yelp on a trip through Bend. It was amazing!! The food was so good, excellent service and atmosphere was great as well. We sat outside and had a patio heater to ourselves, very warm and comfortable. Highly recommend!
Ate outside in a beautiful day. Love all the little fireplaces on the tables. Grilled cheese and tomato soup decadent. Good prompt service.
Birthday celebration. The staff was wonderful they were able to get us in early. The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious I highly recommend stopping in there, but make reservations because they are very busy! Well worth it!!
Easily my favorite restaurant in Bend. Food is consistently delicious, and service is always great.
Easy to get a reservation. Our table not ready at appointed time but we were informed and checked on. Had Halibut special, very good, and my favorite thing ever, the buffalo cauliflower.
Great outdoor dining. It was in the 40’s but very comfortable heated and secluded patio. Everyone was happy with the food. Gluten free options including fries. Will be back!
Great meal and service! The food is consistently good with appealing plating and presentation. I like trying new menu items when the menu changes and the specials are almost always superb.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The grilled kale salad was excellent.
Another amazing experience at Washington. We sat outside and enjoyed the small fire pits they have on the table and enjoyed Central Oregon spring in full effect. We got the zombie fries (a must!!) and the goat cheese fondue (outstanding). My girlfriend got the wedge salad and Mac and cheese (always delicious) and my friend and I got fried chicken which was out of this world! One of my favorite places in Bend and we will be back for sure!
I’ve dined at Washington many times over the last couple years and this was, by far, a ridiculously poor experience. I’m happy to grant some slack given our collective Covid-19 challenges but I’ve been to other restaurants in town recently that didn’t remotely demonstrate such collective incompetence.
We were seated. After several minutes, our waitress stopped by to tell us she’d be with us in a “few” minutes, an immediate signal of trouble ahead. 10+ minutes later she showed up for drink orders. We had a bottle of wine with us and one cocktail was ordered. Wine glasses never came (had to ask after 10 mins) and the drink took 20+ mins (it was at least comped).
Appetizers ordered came in reasonable time. Buffalo cauliflower was as expected. Calamari was drier than my feet after a summer in flip flops. When teenagers can’t even go there, you get my drift. How does something like that leave the kitchen?
Dinners arrived and our special (half chicken) was uninspired with lettuce as a mashed potatoes compliment. Lettuce in your taters? Burger was dry. Romaine lettuce “salad” with a steak looked like it’d been through an apocalypse and was served with “beans” that were like cardboard nuggets.
Nothing came together. If it was “pay what it’s worth” it was worth about $40, not the $100+ paid.
So, maybe it was a perfect storm type of night but Washington needs to get its act together.
Oh, they didn’t even deliver their signature opening bag of savory popcorn.
Meh, meh, meh.
Both of us ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The soup was very tomato-y as if that was the only ingredient. It was good, but I have had better. The sandwich was huge, but also good. One piece of bread seemed to have been dipped in egg wash or perhaps excess cheese, and the other was grilled as usual. The combination of cheeses was delicious. Our waitress was very patient with 2 seniors who had bit of trouble figuring out how the virtual menu worked, and checked on us exactly the right amount. All in all a very nice afternoon, for my first late covid dining experience!
Fabulous lunch - loved the new menu items and great time with friends outside around the warm fire.
Our server seemed to have had too many tables inside because she didn’t come to us often outside and it was freezing.
Service was slow and it was very noisy the place was packed in spite of Covid restrictions
Menu could benefit from some additional fish entrees. Double burger, Caesar salad and calamari were all great.
Busy place, lot of noise. Food was good. Service was slow.
We had brunch there and the menu was very limited. There weren’t a ton of options but what we did have was good. Drinks were really good
What a great afternoon. Arrived a little early. We were welcomed by everyone and were seated at a great outside table. We were here earlier in the month celebrating Jean’s birthday. Today we were celebrating our 41st anniversary. What I really enjoyed was the fact that we never felt rushed. Our waitperson was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make the right decisions. We brought our own wine that we have been holding for 22 years. I have to tell you the kale salad with the cod was way over the top. Our overall experience was over the top.
It is really nice having a restaurant of this quality in Bend.
Perfect neighborhood spot with friendly staff. Consistently great!
Our delightful Ariana took great care of us. When my wife wanted a customized drink, Ariana not only was happy to help, she made a couple of suggestions, and then followed up! It was wonderful from arrival to departure.
They wait staff clearly enjoy each other, and it shows. A happy dining experience starts with happy staff, and when the maître d'hôtel departs with an “I Love You All”, with universal staff smiles and waves...you have something very special.
We visited Bend for the weekend and The Washington was hands down the best seated restaurant we went to. The service was great and the food and drinks ranked high on the list of places we went over the weekend. They were very quick for how busy it seemed & the doughnuts are a must try.
Seemed overly packed for a county in high risk during COVID. Also not enough staff to serve as many customers as there were.
GREAT server, comfortable space, tasty food. First time dining out in a year so the noise was a little jarring.
Well this was our umpteenth time eating here but this time for my wife’s birthday. We have to tell you that we were so happy with the overall experience. The wine was over the top and those Brussel sprouts were absolutely amazing. Never had anything tike that before. We are coming back just for those:). Also that fish, sturgeon, wow, never had it but it is on the A list now.
Finally, from check in and all the way through service we were treated top notch. We felt so safe eating here we will be back again.
Great food and service. A bit noisy.
I would highly recommend making reservations, we were able to be seated shortly after our reservation time. The food was exceptional, the Brussel sprouts were delicious. Hayley was our server and she was sooo delightful and made amazing drinks.
The location is great and plenty of parking, we were very happy with our experience and will be back.
Some people were not wearing masks when leaving the restaurant.
Great food, friendly and prompt service.
We loved the outdoor patio dining -- it was perfect with heaters and a fire at our table to keep us nice and warm on a winter evening.
Such a great place to go during COVID. The outdoor dining has great ambiance, plenty of standing heaters, fire pits, and tables 6 feet apart. The service is great and very friendly. We will be back!
Overall our experience was nice, however, the price of the special Bloody Mary we all ordered had gone up. Also, we felt like we were being rushed out since they were trying to keep up with business. We would’ve ordered food, but two different wait staff came through to clear off our table.
Always enjoy Washington. We ate outside so a wee bit cold. The waitress was very accommodating. My go to GNO , thanks for opening
We visited for Valentines Day dinner. Our server was perfect; just the right combination of friendliness and helpfulness while not at all intrusive or overzealous. She timed her check-in's well, was helpful in answering questions and and suggestions, and was always cheerful and courteous. The food and cocktails were top-notch. The steak was cooked perfectly and actually tasted like steak, the buffalo cauliflower was great as an appetizer, the Ahi tuna carpaccio was fantastic as a first course, and the toffee caramel cake was sublime. I thought pricing was perhaps a tad on the high side, but not unreasonable or out of expectations for Bend. Overall, we had a fantastic experience.
My family of 5 went for Valentine’s dinner and my 3 daughters and I all received roses when we got there. That was an extra treat! The food and service was fantastic! We would totally eat there again!
