   There was a huge (family) group sitting near us on Valentine's Day and their kids were running around and super loud. The parents had no respect for the other patrons.

   We were seated near the kitchen - I think it would have been less noisy if we had been seated elsewhere. With that said, we still enjoyed our evening very much, and the food was delish! We had sushi rolls and sashimi - highly recommend!!

    This is my favorite Wasabi in the DSM Area. I was there Sat evening with my 6 yr old niece to try “weird” food. Hunter, our waiter, was terrific. She tried curry, octopus, mochi and fried ice cream. AND loved the experience. ; )

    Great experience overall. The food was delicious. However, do not drink the water. West DSM’s water is horrible. You may ask for bottle water. They understand and won’t get offended!

    Love this place and the food! We were seated in the back room though, which doesn't have the same atmosphere as the bar or first seating area. A little disappointed since we had a reservation, but still a nice evening with great food and a great waitress!

    My wife and I love this place. We try to eat here once or twice whenever we visit my parents in Des Moines. The service is outstanding, but the appetizers, sushi and sushi rolls are the best.

    We've been here several times and this was the first semi negative experience. The lights were brighter, they tried to sit us next to the kitchen even though plenty of tables were available and our server, while nice, was not very polished. Delivering entree before clearing apps and not cleaning table despite a small spill.

    Wonderful, quiet place to have a working lunch. Service was prompt, with drinks brought right away and soda refilled the right amount of times. Myself and a colleague were meeting to go over some projects and this was the perfect location for that. Lunch portions were ideal - I had the 7 pc sushi and tuna roll while she had the sushi bento box. Miso soup was served quickly, and the main courses arrived soon after. The tuna roll was neat and tidy, and there were two pieces of seared preparation of nigiri along with 5 traditional pieces of nigiri. The seared preparation was an interesting and unexpected surprise that was really cool to see. To have that much effort and focus put in on lunch prep was amazing. I’d highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying Wasabi again in the future!
