Great experience and good selection of rolls. I’ll be returning.
Had really good service, good food, and an enjoyable time. Only issue was that we had to wait a little bit to be seated even though we had a reservation; by the way the staff was apologizing i would imagine this doesn’t happen often though.
They were quick to seat us, through food was great. The service was better. Overall great evening.
Sushi rolls and nigiri are typically pretty good here. Nothing fabulous, but a good go-to sushi place. Servers have always been kind and professional, but they often get backed up in the sushi bar.
Wasabi has been a favorite however, the past number of visits have not been so good. Everything feels a bit dirty and the food has not been their normal quality.
This was my first time here, loved it. Will be a repeat customer.
Our food took over an hour from time of ordering to delivery. The waitress was lovely, but there seemed to be only one cook in the kitchen which makes no sense for New Year's Eve.
The wait staff was great, our water and tea we're constantly full. The evening we went we receive complimentary edamame. Overall experience was quite good. I'll definitely go back.
Group of 10 sat in private dining area. Perfect space
I enjoy Wasabi because the Town and Country location is in a lovey spot, and the restaurant looks and feels nice. The booths are quiet, easy for conversation, and no one is yelling out from the sushi bar. The service is friendly and efficient. I think the sushi, albeit safe, fresh, and trustworthy, is good, but not excellent.
Other near-by sushi has a little bit more taste, and a MUCH easier menu, and system, for selection. Wasabi’s menu is complicated, with so many of the items being a combination of California Roll and something else. If I don’t like the ingredients of a California roll, then my choices are narrowed. Also, many of the offerings are spicy. So again, the choices narrow even more.
There are fewer basics than other sushi restaurants. Sometimes, I just want tuna rolls, or tuna and avocado, but not cream cheese, or something bizarre such as chili sauce, crunch mix, or something else that doesn’t belong in a sushi roll. I do appreciate the low carb option where cucumber is used as an alternative to rice and seaweed, for customers in need.
Overall, Wasabi is a nice place, especially for some place quieter than the normal sushi place, and a little more upscale for business, or otherwise.
This wasabi location is typically our go-to as it is right up the street but no longer. We made a reservation for a date night on open table and when we got there they did not have us in their system. After showing them the reservation on our end, they were less than helpful and fairly rude! They offered no pluton for trying to get us in to the dinning room but we could “just sit in the bar area” if we’d like. No thank you. We went elsewhere and will not be back.
Happy hour is awesome
They had a new chef working and he couldn’t make rolls well. They all fell apart.
Hadn’t been for awhile, but dropped in for a quick dinner with an out of town relative. Split a tall boy Kirin and the food: chicken ramen, Wasabi roll and Mr. Kim roll. Best sushi either have had and much better food than the dinner we’d had the night before cooked by a famous local chef in Clayton.
Always enjoy going to Wasabi. It's pretty centrally located, and you can make a reservation if you want. They are always pleasant there and the food is good. It's a nice, casual place to go for sushi, but they also have cooked options. We like to recommend it.
I have been going for several years, but not often recently. I had forgot why the drop off, so I decided to go for Mother's day with my family. I was quickly reminded why I do not go anymore. It took over 1 hour for food to arrive. I spoke with server multiple times to find out what the situation was she replied with a response of (paraphrasing) "well, it's mother's day today, a lot of people came, we have only one cook in the back." she spoke over me when I was trying to talk trying to further give excuses. When the manager came, she did apologize, half-heartedly, but she did not want to engage and just kept on throwing us discount or taking something off the bill without addressing the issue of the wait, lack of staff and response from the server. The manager just wanted to close the situation by changing the bill.
the table next to us felt the same way and they told us they were happy that we said something.
Frankly, having one cook in the back should not be the customer's issue. Knowing that it was Mother's day should have warranted appropriate staffing. The customer should not have to suffer due to this and also it puts their servers and managers in a bad spot, as it was not their decision to have only one cook.
This was the same experience on multiple occasions with only one cook in the back (last time they got the orders wrong at that too!).
Needless to say, I will not be coming back. Ownership needs to really reflect on how they want to move forward. I believe that the good years of this place have passed. without some significant changes, I do not believe that they can sustain themselves. I believe the only reason why they stay in business is the lack of other sushi places and their location.
We normally have a very good experience here but this was different. The service was slow and we had asked for spicy mayo twice which still was not brought to us until almost all of the sushi was gone. We sat with empty waters for most of dinner as well. The issue was they were under staffed but a bad experience which was disappointing as this was our anniversary dinner.
No trouble getting a reservation for Sunday night. Wait staff was very friendly and had good knowledge of the menu. Lots of creative sushi roll options on the menu. Appetizers and soups were good. Rolls were generally well executed. Both the Batman roll and Spicy Omega roll were a hit with the family. The Spicy Mango roll is a good idea, but the spicy tuna overpowered the rest of the flavors. The Udon with shrimp was excellent. Yakisoba was served tepid with overcooked beef. Overall, we had a good time, but there is better sushi and Japanese food to be had in St. Louis.
Friends from out of town.
Always great food and wonderful service.
The restaurant was very busy but did not deter the outstanding service and food. Thank you!
My favorite place for Sushi! It's hard to go anywhere else, consistently great service and great food!
This is the best sushi in St. Louis! I highly recommend this place!
Had a great time
Food was tasty for the most part. Server was nice. However, he dropped some sauce and wasted it ALL over my shirt. I wouls have hoped that I would have been comped something, but when the bill came.....nope! Was quite surprised since now I have a cleaning bill as a result of this.
Sushi dishes were good, not great. Teriyaki chicken was very good. Food prices were reasonable but hot tea was overpriced.
Service was erratic. Some things were prompt but the miso soup was served after the sushi. Long wait for refills.
Very, very good sushi! Our favorite place! The service and food are consistently good!
Always know you will get delicious sushi at Wasabi! Always quality rolls!
Three strikes on service. other places to choose from.
Wasabi is consistently very good sushi! We had a nice dinner, the service was great!
Happy hour BOGO is fantastic!
Food was great, service was awesome. We will definitely be going back.
The food was great as usual but our waitress / service was not up to the standard that it is when Alyssa waits on us (Alyssa is great!). Our waitress seemed very confused by our drink order, and got it wrong when the drinks arrived. She seemed very rushed and then disappeared to BOH for long periods of time. We sat and waited for her to finally come back to the table to correct the drink order, and the corrected replacement drink took too long to come back to the table (when a mistake has been made, and these things do happen, it should be taken care of promptly). It also took too long for her to come back and take our food order as well. Overall our go-to Sushi place was a bit of a disappointment after a hard week of work.
I thought the quality of the sushi was average. Some of my fish was frozen!
This one location is our favorite. We go often and they know us.
Good sushi and sashimi
This was a very good experience. The food and service were excellent
High quality sushi at reasonable prices. I was a bit jealous of the people at other tables who ended up with giant sushi boats!
